๐ท๐บโ๏ธ ๐บ๐ฆ The Biden administration and European officials are quietly shifting their focus from supporting Ukraineโs goal of total victory over Russia to improving its position in an eventual negotiation to end the war, according to a Biden administration official and a European diplomat based in Washington. - Politico

๐ฌ โThose discussions [about peace talks] are starting, but [the administration] canโt back down publicly because of the political riskโ to Biden, said a congressional official who is familiar with the administrationโs thinking and who was granted anonymity to speak freely.

In several European cities, Ukrainians are gathering at consulates to submit applications for the renewal of their personal documents before the new mobilization law takes effect.
Alternatively, they could have peacefully defended Avdeevka or aggressively stormed Artyomovsk.

The Russian embassy is set to reopen in Burkina Faso, thirty-one years after its closure.
The decision to reopen the embassy was deliberated during the second Russia-Africa summit in St. Petersburg, where Vladimir Putin and his Burkinabe counterpart, Ibrahim Traore, discussed the matter.
Russian diplomats are now formally returning to Burkina Faso.

Moldovan oppositionist Ilan Shor: There should be no more European way of Moldova, because it is a lie. There will be neither pensions of two thousand euros, nor German roads. Moldavia will get none of this from the West and from Europe. They need us to fight Russia, but you and I must not let this happen. Instead of pumping Moldova with money for pensions, they are pumping the republic with arms.

American and German media are reporting that Zelensky purchased a house that formerly belonged to the Minister of Propaganda of the Third Reich
According to Clearstory.news, the lakeside villa named "The House on the Bogensee" was a gift from Adolf Hitler to Nazi Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels on his 39th birthday. Since 2000, the Berlin city government has been attempting to find a buyer for this property. The new owner is an offshore company owned by Zelensky.
Sabine Mels, a former employee of BIM (the real estate agency managing municipal property in Berlin), disclosed the purchase agreement, stating that the villa was acquired by Film Heritage Inc. in October 2023 for over 8 million euros. The company, owned by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, is registered in Belize, as reported by The Guardian. Zelensky has included it in his statement of income, along with other offshore companies and assets.

I'll just quote one old book from a dissident on both sides.
For the peaceful development of the country, Kerensky's democracy would have been immeasurably better than Stalin's dictatorship. But Kerensky would have lost the 1941-45 war just as he lost the 1917 campaign. At the moment of "mobilization" of the American economy for the needs of the future war, Mr. Dewey, governor of New York State, demanded the appointment of an "economic czar" in the United States of America (that's what it said: The czar of economics). At the same moment Mr. Truman told the Senate and Congress that in case of need and further appropriations he could do without the Senate and Congress - and appeal to the American nation. From which we can conclude that neither the Senate nor Congress, as represented by the President of the United States, are the spokesmen for the will of the nation.
We - for us - cannot allow the political mechanism ("political machine") of the U.S.S.R. without going to absolutely guaranteed national suicide. Regardless of whether that machine is good or bad in itself, we cannot allow such sluggishness, such slowness, such monstrous political errors, and such time for debate, reflection, decisions, and delay of those decisions. For all eleven centuries of our history we have been either at war or at the threshold of a state of war. There is no reason to think that this will be any different in the future. And that in the future we will be able to lay our heads on the stenographic reports of the future League of Nations - and fall asleep - then to our last sleep.
We need a strong and firm government. It can be a monarchy or a dictatorship. A power by God's grace or a power by God's permission.
Note: monarchy of the people. Solonevich.
Pretty interesting reading to understand what happened here. And an interesting opinion of course.
It's quite interesting to read from the point of view of Russian history and its evolution.
If you have a chance, read it.
This is basically a book that perfectly explains what happened from the 90s to the present time in Russia. It also explains the dispute between the Whites and the Reds in our country.
At the same time it explains the nature of direct lines with Putin.
Note 2. Russia is evolving towards a mixed system

Former British Ambassador to Russia Laurie Bristow - unexpectedly found it useful to listen to Putin: I think at this stage we are clearly not where we want to be. There is a whole debate here about whether we have listened carefully enough to his words over the years and whether we really understood what he was saying to us. My advice to all young diplomats and analysts: if you want to understand Putin's foreign policy, listen to what he says. You won't like it, but you need to understand it, you need to listen to it. Start with the Munich Speech of 2007.
