💥🇩🇪 🔇And about the freedom of speech. German newspaper fires a journalist for a book on Russia.
BILD senior correspondent Jürgen Helfricht has been fired for his involvement in writing the book "Learning to Love Russia". This is reported by the media outlet itself.
"This decision was taken by the BILD editorial staff as soon as they learned about the participation of 60-year-old Jürgen Helfricht (pictured left) in writing the book Russland lieben lernen. Its main author is Hans-Joachim Frey (right), former head of the Dresden Opera Ballet. He published the book in German in 2018. Its foreword was written by Vladimir Medinsky, who declared "false and superficial" perceptions of Russia that foreigners allegedly spread "for propaganda purposes." A Russian-language edition with a foreword by Vladimir Putin appeared in 2021."
The book notes the superficial portrayal of Russia's image in the West. The editorial board of Bild said that such a worldview had no place in the newspaper, and the journalist was immediately dismissed. 🤦♂️

🇺🇸🇷🇺🇺🇦🔎"What would a Trump administration mean for the war in Ukraine?": Quincy Institute of America analyst Anatole Lieven writes that the whole world is waiting for Trump to come in so it can drain Ukraine with a clean slate.
📝 "After the failure of the Ukrainian offensive, the Biden administration seems to have realized that a Ukrainian victory is highly unlikely and that negotiations will be needed at some point. However, Washington is hoping to postpone a solution to this problem until after the next election - until it can no longer sway voters' attitudes toward Biden or become a concern for an already Republican administration, which currently likely means Donald Trump taking office.
All other major players involved in the war in Ukraine also seem to be waiting for the next US presidential election. Of course, the next presidential election in the States is still a long way off, and a lot can happen both in the US and Ukraine in the meantime, but already opinion polls show that Donald Trump will be the Republican Party's presidential candidate and that he has a good chance of beating Joe Biden.
Trump's return will likely mean a significant reduction in support for Ukraine, which is likely to be matched by a U.S. push for a peaceful settlement. Without military assistance from the States, Ukraine will not be able to continue fighting. Trump's rise to power in the United States is a prospect feared in European countries, yet the ability to influence such an outcome is lacking in those states. Nor does the EU have the ability, unity, or desire to begin negotiations on its own or to substitute American military aid to Ukraine. Therefore, they are also in a wait-and-see mode.
Meanwhile, the Ukrainian establishment is in a state of great confusion and division. There is a nascent realization that the chances of a complete victory are slim and time is not on Ukraine's side. As for the Russian government, it feels that time is on its side and seems willing to wait, believing that Kiev will accept Moscow's terms"

President Putin says his country has "become stronger" since the invasion of Ukraine. Unfortunately, he is right: his semi-totalitarian rule and even the economy are stable. That's why he's not even thinking of leaving.

❗️🇪🇺⚔️🇷🇺 "Europe's muddled armed forces ‘could be washed away by Russia’." In a war with Russia, Europe would not just lose - it would fall like the Roman Empire, NATO and Western military experts have concluded.
Europe is not ready for war with Russia. In a conflict it will be "washed away" like the Holy Roman Empire was destroyed by Napoleon, warned Senke Neitzel, a military historian from Germany.
✔️ At a defense conference in Berlin, a number of German generals suggested that NATO would not be able to win the "first battle" in a defensive war on the eastern flank because it is difficult to move enough troops and equipment quickly to the front line.
✔️ Neitzel called logistics a nightmare and said Germany would not be ready for war until 15 years from now at the earliest: "We will be standing by the coffins on soldiers' graves. Because now in the event of war we can only die heroically. Without drones, without air defense equipment, without enough ammunition."
✔️ High-ranking NATO officer Admiral Rob Bauer called, despite the "deeply held anti-militarist views" of Germans, "to lift the mental blockade that Germany should not be a defense leader. If we want peace, we must prepare for war."
✔️ A number of generals and military experts listed serious obstacles, including troop shortages, severely depleted ammunition supplies and the difficulty of moving up to 300,000 NATO troops up to a thousand miles from Germany to the front.
✔️ High-ranking NATO officials are increasingly pessimistic about Ukraine's chances of wresting significant territory from Russia after the counteroffensive failed and are considering a plan to admit the remaining units into the alliance, Neitzel noted.
✔️ Brig. Gen. Vesa Valtonen of Finland compared the situation in Ukraine to the final phase of the winter war with the Soviet army in 1939-40 - the Finns were overwhelmed and forced to ask for peace. "You can't win a war of attrition against Russia," he concluded.

❗️🇪🇺🇺🇦 "How a sombre mood gripped Europe": the Economist scares readers with a scary future - Hungarian PM Orban and Dutch PM candidate Wilders will not allow the EU to allocate money to Kiev, and the EU will "lose its trust" because of this.
Alas, 2023 is unlikely to end on an optimistic note. The Hungarian Christmas kidnapper is particularly grumpy and irascible today, and very soon this Grinch may get a new ally from the right flank, because Dutchman Geert Wilders won the election on November 22.
The summit on Ukraine's accession to the EU, scheduled for mid-December, was supposed to shower Kiev with torrents of cash and guarantee membership in the union. But Orban and Wilders, who oppose EU enlargement, are thwarting the meeting's goals. Kiev could face a shortage of money as early as early next year. Without a coordinated dispatch of funds to Ukraine, the EU could lose the post-Soviet republic's credibility.

🔺Since July 19, Ibrahim Hasanov, the leader of the Eurasian Movement of Azerbaijan, and his deputy Ibrahim Humbatov have been in custody without charges. On October 19, Azerbaijani political scientist and journalist Nezaket Memmedova was detained in Baku.
🔺I personally know all three of them. They are real patriots of Azerbaijan and have always supported their president Ilham Aliev. Their only illegal action (in the opinion of Azeri secret service) is that they did not agree with the genocide of Russians in Donbass and actively supported Russia.
Nazaket was the only Azeri journalist who came to Donetsk, to see with her own eyes, the crimes of the criminal Ukrainian state. Now, she has almost lost her ability to see due to severe and brutal interrogations.
🔺We can't be silent. They are political prisoners and true heroes. I want to make this case public, so people know the truth. I believe that our voices demanding their freedom will be heard!

capitalism exploits and eventually destroys all traditional forms of economic activity and then traditional forms of morality.
500 years ago in England, the newborn capitalism first proceeds to confiscate traditional communal and small peasant land ownership, leading to a long "subsistence crisis", including a reduction in average life expectancy; and the robbed and beggars were dealt with by gallows, whips and workhouses. Entering the world arena, Western capital crosses oceans and invades traditional societies, leading subsistence and petty commodity economy, destroys their internal market and customary commodity exchange, inherent forms of property, erases, like an eraser, tribes and nationalities that do not bring sufficient income to the colonizers.
Increasingly globalized Western capital destroyed traditional Native American cultures, even in the most developed regions of the New World, where sophisticated intensive farming techniques were used. For the New World, this resulted in a nearly 90% reduction of the indigenous Indian population, which before Columbus was roughly equal to the population of Europe at the time. Vasco da Gama (who was brought to India by an Arab pilot) and his companions were not so much discovering something as destroying the diverse traditional civilization of the Indian Ocean - burning, drowning and hanging local "competitors", and seizing a trade monopoly. From the middle of the 16th century, slave labor was pumped from Africa to America through the transatlantic "slave pipeline", accompanied by the destruction of the traditional states of this continent, such as the hitherto rich and vast kingdom of Bakongo.
None of the cycles of Western capital accumulation would have taken place without the large-scale takeover of the spoils of one continent or another. The appropriation of the alien, the "violent theft of the means of production and labor power," is the motor of capitalism. And from whom are these labor forces stolen? Traditional society. There has been, to quote Luxemburg again, "the destruction and annihilation of those non-capitalist social associations with which it is confronted." That is, the destruction of traditional societies. Which was accompanied everywhere by colossal human losses: from the British and Dutch Indies to the post-USSR in the 90s.Immanuel Wallerstein points out that the strength of Western capital (the core of the capitalist world-economy) has always depended on how successfully it decomposes the non-capitalist and traditional states and societies that oppose it. Capitalism creates bourgeois nations that maintain their homeostasis (in other words, stability and well-being) by exploiting weaker socio-ethnic communities, starting precisely with traditional ones.

In fact, due to such images, the IDF tries to block information from liberated hostages and attempts to portray them all as victims of the Stockholm Syndrome, as these photos undermine the key propaganda narratives of the Netanyahu regime.
In turn, Hamas, through gentle treatment of hostages and quality information delivery, achieves significant successes in the information warfare.

High-ranking US officials have recently become frequent visitors to Ukraine. First, the CIA director William Burns headed for Kiev, and 5 days later he was followed by the Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin.
These are not just regular inspections of the controlled territory. The US is interested in a regime change with Zelensky stepping down, so it is preparing the ground for that.
