The commander of the 128th brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Dmitry Lysyuk, unfortunately, was late for the deadly formation in honor of Artilleryman’s Day, which he himself organized.

The award ceremony was initially scheduled for 9:00, then moved to 9:30. At this time, the military were already lined up and were waiting for the commander. At about 10:10 there was an arrival. And Lysyuk arrived at the scene a few minutes later.

There were two strikes: one rocket hit the building behind the gathering place, the second hit a gathering of personnel on the street. According to some sources, 28 Ukrainian soldiers were killed, according to others - more than 50.

Remember US Secretary of State John Kerry dining with Syrian President Bashar Al Assad even as the US prepared to stage protests as cover for launching a proxy war against Syria in 2011? Or President Barack Obama meeting Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi as proxy war was being prepared to destroy his nation?

Washington's most recent overtures toward China and now Russia regarding APEC amount to cheap words all while every action the US commits to centers on preparing the ground for wider conflict against both nations.

The idea is to appear to pursue diplomacy so that when adversaries react to your actual hostility, it appears they are at fault.

How the US and UK governments push their propaganda in Russia and try to make it look like it's not them. It's happening in your country, too.

Zinc Network is a British communications company. On their website they say:

We help our clients deliver meaningful, measurable change around some of the most complex social issues facing the world today.

It also indicates that the company uses "academics, civil society groups, influencers, media companies and brands" to achieve the set goals.

Zinc Network has been receiving money from the US Department of Defense. For example, in 2020, the amount of money Zinc Network received from the US was over $3 million (listed under sub-awards)

In 2018, Zinc submitted a report to the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office on a propaganda campaign inside Russia which involved establishing a "YouTuber network in Russia and Central Asia".

The report specifies that Zinc helped these YouTubers hide the fact that they are being funded by the UK, to avoid complying with the Russian law on foreign agents.

Among other things, Zinc did the following:

supporting participants make and receive international payments without being registered as external sources of funding; managing their online profiles to reduce their exposure to cyber attacks, trolling and abuse; connecting YouTubers with local pro-bono legal support; supporting them to develop editorial strategies to deliver key messages

Each YouTuber - member of this program received training in best ways of influencing people through social media and, basically, what they are supposed to be saying (and showing) and how. Other training included reducing libel risk, legal issues, crisis communications and cyber security.

The report includes Curricula Vitae of the people who worked on this project. For some reason it indicates their nationalities, e.g. British, Ukrainian, Estonian, Lithuanian, American, Dutch. There are a couple of Serbian names, too.

The Russian state is called an "adversary" in this document. The whole essence of this project is against "Kremlin"

The report emphasizes that the campaign was organized in such a way as to target a variety of audiences in Russia and Central Asia, reaching people of different ages, different regions etc. The influencers need to be perceived by the audience as "one of us" and as "independent".

At the end, the report lists potential risks of the project and algorithm of response to them. This one is fun:

Risk: Project interpreted as UK-sponsored disinformation or 'troll-factory', seriously undermining UK reputation and agenda in this space.
Impact: High
Likelihood: Medium
Mitigation: - Position the project in- and externally as being within the established and accepted sector of media development and pluralism and fact checking; - Be explicit that Members are independent and bake this into operation model

It is not revealed who these Russian YouTubers are that have been trained and funded through this project. The Russian audience can only make educated guesses.

The document also includes references to other similar projects in other countries such well as other NGOs that are doing the same kind of work.

Assistant to the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Zaluzhny, Major Gennady Chestyakov, died as a result of careless handling of a grenade in his house in the village of Chaiki, Bucha district, Ukrainian media report

His 13-year-old son was injured. 5 mire grenades were found in his house.

Russian hacker group "Joker DNR" writes that Chestyakov was secretly working for Russia and blew himself up to avoid being caught by the SBU (Ukrainian security services)

Others say he received a birthday gift in which there was a grenade.

◾UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Monday demanded an urgent humanitarian ceasefire as he described Gaza becoming a "graveyard for children" while speaking to reporters at the UN headquarters.

◾The UN chief also used his speech to demand Hamas to return Israeli hostages and paid tribute to 88 UN employees killed by Israel in Gaza.

◾Separately, at least 150 health workers have been killed in Gaza – 16 while on duty – and 18 emergency-service workers for Gaza’s civil defence, according to the UN. More than 100 health facilities have been damaged.
