๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ชโœŠ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ธ A Tale of Two Teams: Celtic and Rangers ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑ

(Irish) Celtic fans showing sings of โ€˜Free Palestineโ€™ standing in solidarity with ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ธ

Providing a stark contrast, Rangers fans (British loyalists) flaunt their allegiance not merely to the crown but also to Israel. It seems a history refresher is in dire need as some Rangers fans were spotted parading a Totenkopf (deathโ€™s head) SS flag, sparking outrage amidst Scotlandโ€™s Jewish community.

The grotesque irony of Rangers fans, claiming to support the Jewish state of Israel while simultaneously flying a Nazi flag, lays bare the glaring ignorance pervading the times we live in.

๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑโš”๏ธ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ธ After her release, Yuhavid Lifshater, the Israeli captive who was freed yesterday, stated to Israeli media:

๐Ÿ’ฌ "Forces entered our homes and abducted people. There was no distinction between the young and the elderly. It was very painful. After the captivity, medical care came to ensure our health and provided necessary medications."

"We asked them not to discuss political matters with us, but overall, they treated us very friendly. Hamas dealt with us kindly and met all our needs. Our food was no different from theirs; we ate the same food they did. The Israeli army left us alone and did not take the matter seriously."

In response to a question about why they shook hands with a Qassam fighter upon their release, he mentioned that it was because they had been kind to them and fulfilled all their needs.

๐Ÿป Of course, the Israeli social media is already wondering why they even let her be interviewed...

Our source in the OP said that Zaluzhny at headquarters suggested Zelensky switch to mobile defense and begin building a defensive line following the example of the enemy. The Ukrainian Armed Forces will not be able to hold the Russian army along the entire front unless the military strategy is now restructured. The Commander-in-Chief stated that on the Zaporozhye front one should be prepared for the loss of developed territories, since they are poorly fortified and are located in a vulnerable place.

โ€œBattle for Avdiivka: losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near Avdeevka
situation as of 13.00 October 24, 2023

Fighting continues around the Avdeevsky fortified area. After clearing the waste heap, Russian soldiers went on the defensive and consolidated in the occupied areas, while the enemy, on the contrary, pulled in reinforcements for a counterattack.

Due to heavy losses, at least one battalion of the 47th mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was transferred to Ocheretino and Novobakhmutovka from the Orekhovsky site. Their forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces tried to strike positions near the waste heap, but to no avail.

Similar enemy counterattacks were carried out by the coke plant in Avdeevka, as well as on Opytnoye and Pervomaisky. Ukrainian formations intended to occupy the gray zone, but by artillery strikes of the Russian Armed Forces they were forced back to their original positions.

Russian aviation and artillery continue to work on enemy lines. The losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are growing: according to sources, during a week of active fighting, the number of killed members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine alone exceeded 1 thousand people and 60 pieces of equipment.

There are losses on our side, too, but thanks to the chosen tactics of total destruction of the fortified area and subsequent clearing of the area, our command managed to reduce their number to a minimum.โ€

Video footage has been released of the capture of the โ€œwaste heapโ€ in Avdeevka. This high ground is able to look directly over and into the coke plant which will make Russian approach much easier. Time now to move in EW assets and consolidated control.

This video also shows the sort of fortified base the hill was.

As a result of fierce and bloody battles, the Russian Armed Forces established control at the strategic height of Terrikon in the north of Avdiivka. There is panic in the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. They were never able to achieve such a lightning-fast result in their time in the Zaporozhye direction.

Israel will evaluate its relations with the UN after Guterres' statement today, the Israeli permanent representative to the organization said.

He accused the UN Secretary-General of justifying terrorism and called on him to apologize for his words or resign.

During a meeting of the UN Security Council, Guterres mentioned that the Hamas attack on Israel did not occur in isolation, stating, "the Palestinian people have endured a suffocating occupation for 56 years."

The journalist stumped Kirby with his question:

-Don't you think President Biden should play a role in achieving peace instead of saying he can handle two wars every time? Does it make a good impression when, instead of working on peaceful things, you have to fight two wars at the same time?'

"Since the beginning of this administration, we have been committed to creating a more integrated, collaborative, peaceful, stable and prosperous Middle East."

Matt Stoller, the author of this, is arguably the most important writer in America about monopolies and government policy. Here he looks at how and why, at least in part for bureaucratic reasons, the Pentagon is unable to get the weapons supplies it needs.

โญ๏ธ For example, there are about 400 Mergers & Acquisitions in the defense industry in America every year (actually, that's a DoD guestimate, they really don't know how many) and there are only 2 people looking at this. They honestly don't know who owns the companies that make up the American defense industry!

โญ๏ธโญ๏ธ What Stoller doesn't address is whether the lack of oversight is a feature or a bug ๐Ÿคฃ

A good read for those who like to know WHY things happen (or don't as in this case).

Here is one of the comments to the article that we thought was accurate:
Outsourcing your ability to fight a war is a special kind of stupid. It turns out that sometimes you cannot just print more money and throw it at a problem. Now we just haphazardly launch money and rapidly depleting munitions stocks at a problem and hope it goes away. It turns out closing your eyes, plugging your ears, and jabbering does not make things go away. You actually have to make long term plans and fix things. Between "Afghanistan and Iraq were not mistakes" neocons, "Libya was not a mistake" neoliberals, a "sexual identity politics are the most important thing for fighting a war" military culture, "I want to understand white rage and get my Raytheon check" leadership, a monopolized "gouge more, deliver less" military industrial complex, and "we hate all those who have traditionally signed up to fight" progressives, we are screwed. Then again, who would seriously consider joining the military when it is a clown show like this? I have met way too many old vets who have told their children not to follow in their footsteps.

According to his wife, the man was seriously wounded in the middle of this summer, after which he partially lost his leg. He was fitted with a prosthesis, but was left in the service of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The woman is indignant that, according to the order of the Cabinet of Ministers, a person with an amputation is considered to be of limited fitness.
