❗️🇮🇱The Israeli portal Walla writes that Sara Netanyahu (the Prime Minister's wife) has instructed people in her inner circle to collect quotes from all political and military figures in Israel about Hamas' fighting capabilities and the state of the IDF.

📌This includes all material - all statements, public communications, confidential minutes of cabinet meetings and security discussions - in general, everything said and written by former and current senior political, military and security officials regarding intelligence assessments of Hamas' capabilities and intentions.

📌This is a curious situation, because in such circumstances anyone who for years has been talking about the low probability of war, praising the IDF and laughing at Hamas - in other words, speaking in the spirit of the pre-war period - will be at risk. Among those quoted will certainly be former prime ministers Naftali Bennett and Yair Lapid, former defence minister Benny Gantz and former IDF chief of staff Gadi Eisenkot (both of whom now sit with Netanyahu in a wartime government), as well as many others.

📌There is widespread speculation that Netanyahu is preparing an investigation into the 7 October crash and will try to pin the blame on as many officials and officers as possible in order to deflect the blame away from himself.

📌Shabak (General Security Service) chief Ronen Bar and Mossad chief David Barnea have already admitted their guilt and publicly apologised for what happened. ❗️🇵🇸The major world powers must urgently work out concrete ways to establish an independent Palestinian state. This was stated by Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abu al-Gheit at the New Cairo Peace Summit on Palestine.

Abu al-Gheit called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, pointing to the "need to open humanitarian corridors to deliver aid to all areas of the Palestinian enclave," including its northern part, from which civilians are being evacuated under Israeli pressure.

The LAS Secretary General also warned of the danger of "escalating the extremely tense situation in Gaza into a sectarian conflict", which he said would "lead to a greater and more prolonged catastrophe".

On Oct ⁠19, as a former Prime Minister of Israel (Labour Party) and defense minister (2007-2013), Ehud Barak was interviewed by Piers Morgan on Talk ⁠TV (UK). The firebombing of Dresden on Feb 13-15, 1945, left up to 25,000 dead with no significant military purpose. Inelegant, he also compared Israel's 1,400 slain Jews to “a ten thousand” Britons, revealing a conversion rate of 1 for ⁠7.

❗️ The first footage appeared on social networks, presumably from the scene of the shelling of a market in the Gaza Strip. The number of dead and injured is not yet known.
