❗️🇵🇸The major world powers must urgently work out concrete ways to establish an independent Palestinian state. This was stated by Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abu al-Gheit at the New Cairo Peace Summit on Palestine.

Abu al-Gheit called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, pointing to the "need to open humanitarian corridors to deliver aid to all areas of the Palestinian enclave," including its northern part, from which civilians are being evacuated under Israeli pressure.

The LAS Secretary General also warned of the danger of "escalating the extremely tense situation in Gaza into a sectarian conflict", which he said would "lead to a greater and more prolonged catastrophe".
