Note from a comrade who was in Syria at the time of the famous events:
We were expressly forbidden to strike mosques in Syria, even if it was 200% certain that a militant meeting was now taking place there.
The reason? Yes, it's a legitimate target if there are militants there, but it would lead to local discontent, which would increase radicalization, and that's where we were fighting ISIS. By doing so, we'd be giving ISIS extra manpower. We killed 20 ISIS members and 2,000 will join ISIS?
That's exactly how Israel is radicalizing the people of Gaza right now.
And it's strictly forbidden to touch civilians.

◾Only thing to consider, according to Israeli media last night there where no raid warnings or sirens in Israel for the Frist night in two weeks, which means Hamas wasn't carrying any attacks at the time of the Israeli strike on the church.
