๐ฎ๐ฑ ๐บ๐ฆ As the conflict intensifies, the Western world faces a choice: Israel or Ukraine. - Patricia Marins
"If Hezbollah were to engage the IDF forces with its entire arsenal, which includes rockets ranging from 100mm to 620mm with a range of over 150km, modern anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs), and numerous Iranian drones, it is likely that Israel would demand significant support in terms of weaponry.
Still their strongest advantage would be the presence of thousands of militants with military experience from Syria and Yemen. This poses a significant challenge for the Israeli army, which primarily consists of professionals without real combat experience and a high number of conscripts, what push Israel to demand the use of a substantial amount of long-range weapons and ammunition.
In recent days, the US has started sending weapons to the IDF. However, the capacity of the US and Western countries, in general, is limited due to the significant deliveries being made to Ukraine.
The issue here is not solely about shells; the Russian invasion has caused a global rush to source materials for various defense industries worldwide. This includes chemicals for explosives, metals, and plastics needed for fuses and artillery shell casings.
If the Israeli conflict intensifies, there could potentially be a shortage of 20mm-40mm ammunition, which theroduced in Western countries has a rate of around 30-40 million rounds per year. This might not be enough considering the high rate of fire of these calibers in an intense conflict.
Furthermore, if Iran decides to maintain a high rate of weapons supply to Hezbollah, the situation could worsen.
Since the 90s, the Israeli industry has greatly downsized, from 140,000 employees to the current workforce of 30,000-40,000.
For example, Elbit Systems, produces only a few tens of thousands of artillery shells annually.
If the Israeli conflict truly escalates, the Western world may come to a point where it has to choose between supplying Israel or Ukraine. The reality is that the Westersn cannot sustain both conflicts simultaneously, so diplomatic solutions must be sought for one of them.
But the situation isn't any better for the Russians. Israel may indeed seek assistance from Russia, particularly due to the significant influence of Soviet immigrants in the establishment of the Israeli defense industry, where they still keep ties to both governments.
In fact, this situation will highlight the importance of defense suppliers from countries that do not have immediate conflicts, such as Turkey, India, Brazil, and South Africa."

โก๏ธ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ต๐ธ I think this needs to be underlined - the Israelis have taken more casualties in the last [48 hours] than they did in the preceding twelve years of skirmishing with Hamas et al in Gaza, and they were suffered in the heart of Israel.

๐ท๐บ๐บ๐ธ๐บ๐ณ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ต๐ธPutin on the worsening conflict between Israel and Palestine with the Iraqi Prime Minister:
Unfortunately, we are seeing a sharp escalation of the situation in the Middle East. I think that many will agree with me that this is a clear example of the failure of US policy in the Middle East, which tried to monopolize the settlement, but, unfortunately, was not concerned with finding compromises acceptable to both sides. On the contrary, putting forward their own ideas about how this should be done, they put pressure on both sides - namely, both - first on one, then on the other - but each time without taking into account the fundamental interests of the Palestinian people. I mean, first of all, the need to implement the decision of the UN Security Council on the creation of an independent sovereign Palestinian state. But, in any case, no matter what happens, I know your position, dear Mr. Prime Minister, and our position is that damage to the civilian population must be minimized and reduced to zero, and we call on all conflicting parties to do this sides.

๐ท๐บโ๏ธ ๐บ๐ฆ Battle for Avdeevka : taking strategic heights near Krasnogorovka situation at the end of October 10, 2023 according to @rybar
Russian troops continue the operation to storm the Avdeevsky fortified area .
โช๏ธFights are still going on near the outskirts of the village of Berdychi . Soldiers of the Russian army have gained a foothold on the northeastern approaches after crossing the railway track and are awaiting a counterattack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
โช๏ธAssault groups managed to break through the defenses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces at a waste heap located southwest of Krasnogorovka . This is a commanding height from where Russian troops will be able to control the approaches to the Avdeevka fortified area from the north and west, facilitating the encirclement of Avdeevka. At the moment, the cleaning of the waste heap continues.
โช๏ธIn the southern sector, the Russian Armed Forces are conducting assault operations towards Severny and Tonenky . It has not yet been possible to reach the outskirts of populated areas, but several enemy strongholds have come under the control of Russian fighters.
โช๏ธFierce fighting is taking place in the southeast of the Avdeevsky fortified area. Due to dense mining and serious resistance from Ukrainian formations, it is not yet possible to reach the outskirts of the settlement.
๐ปIn general, the task of fire blocking and encircling the Avdeevsky fortified area is being accomplished . In less than 24 hours , Russian troops managed to make a significant breakthrough, which, against the backdrop of advances in previous months, looks very surprising and indicative.
At this stage, it is difficult to make any forecasts, but if everything continues at the same pace, we can probably witness a full-fledged operation to take the Avdeevsky fortified area under the control of Russian troops.
This, in turn, will reduce the intensity of shelling of cities in the Donetsk agglomeration by Ukrainian forces.

๐บ๐ธ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ต๐ธThe US is conducting military planning in case of further escalation in the Middle East
The United States is conducting military planning in case of further escalation of the situation in the Middle East. This was stated at a briefing by the assistant to the American president for national security, Jake "Al Qaeda is on our side in Syria" Sullivan.
"The President also instructed us to plan actions in case of any scenarios of escalation of the situation," he said. Sullivan added that such planning is already actively underway.
Sullivan also recalled that, on the instructions of US President Joe Biden, the aircraft carrier Gerald Ford has already been transferred to the eastern part of the Mediterranean Sea. "We are ready to transfer additional forces as needed," he added.
The White House spokesman explained that American troops are being deployed in order to send a signal not to the Hamas movement, but to "other states or non-state actors who may try to expand this war."

๐ต๐ธโ๏ธ ๐ฎ๐ฑ Video footage shows Israeli forces shooting four surrendering Palestinians in the back, after which they placed weapons next to the unarmed bodies for a staged victory shot.
In the published video, at the moment of their attempt to surrender, the Palestinians are unarmed. However, in the photos taken after the shooting, each of them miraculously appears to have a rifle in their hands.
It's worth noting that the video was published by an official Israeli military media outlet.
