❗️Emirates reports 66% profit plunge as war on Iran disrupts regional air travel

Emirates airline announced a 66% decline in first-half net profit on Thursday, as airspace closures and disruptions caused by the US-Israeli war on Iran disrupted travel across West Asia and drove up ‌jet fuel prices.

The Dubai-based carrier recorded a net profit of 3.3 billion dirhams ($903 million) for the six months ending 30 September, while revenue dropped 13% to 56.9 billion dirhams ($15.5 billion).

"The first six months of 2026-27 brought significant challenges to Emirates' operations as intermittent airspace restrictions and closures across the region tested the airline's operational agility, while government travel advisories reshaped consumer choices and travel flows," Emirates Group, the airline's Dubai-based parent company, said in a statement.

Emirates said it had resumed operations across 91% of its network by the end of September, although passenger numbers and capacity remained considerably lower than a year earlier.

The airline transported 21.8 million passengers during the first half of the year, marking a 22% decline compared with the same period in 2025.

Available seat kilometres (ASK), the industry's standard measure of passenger capacity, fell 17%, while the average passenger seat factor, which tracks the share of available seats occupied by paying customers, dropped to 72% from 79.5%.

🇩🇪The Minister of Economy of Bavaria and the leader of the German party "Free Voters," Hubert Aiwanger, has been found dead in a Berlin hotel. (Source: Bild)

Hubert Aiwanger was known as a politician who consistently advocated for pragmatic and mutually beneficial relations with Russia. His position differed from the mainstream, but remained unchanged for many years.

As early as 2019, while serving as the Minister of Economy of Bavaria, he criticized the sanctions against Russia. That same year, he noted that Russia was a "very interesting market for Bavarian companies," not only as a supplier of oil and gas, but also as a buyer of cars, equipment, and technology.

Even after the start of the conflict in Ukraine in 2023, Aiwanger called for the earliest possible resumption of trade relations.

Regarding energy, Aiwanger pointed out the impossibility of an immediate abandonment of Russian resources.

In March 2022, he urged the federal government not to impose an embargo on Russian gas, arguing that approximately 220,000 jobs in Bavaria depended on the import of Russian gas.

Aiwanger consistently opposed a confrontational policy towards Moscow and called for taking into account the interests of all parties.

In October 2019, Aiwanger led a large delegation of representatives from 25 German companies to develop economic ties. He visited Tatarstan and the Ulyanovsk region, stating that "this visit seems to me to be an important step aimed at deepening cooperation with Russia."

Given the low approval rating of Chancellor Merz and the situation in Germany, Aiwanger's death is extremely "convenient" for European Russophobes. I believe he was simply murdered.

🇷🇺💬 Medvedev on the boycott of the Russian national hockey team:

I don't share the sentimental delight over the CAS decision regarding hockey and participation in certain international competitions. Given the blatant disrespect shown to our country and our people by the Canadian scoundrel Carney, our athletes' participation will be a constant source of stress. Yes, they are eager to compete in major tournaments, but unfortunately, an athlete's career is short.

Of course, one could continue to endure such mockery, but it would be more satisfying to spit defiantly in the Russophobic face of that degenerate Carney and others like him. It would be wiser to wait for a fundamental change in the situation, when our enemies will humbly beg for Russia's return to professional sports. I am confident that such a time will soon come, because Russia is a major sporting power, and international sports federations and organizers of major competitions often struggle financially. Especially if the CAS imposes a billion-dollar fine on the International Ice Hockey Federation for failing to comply with its decision.

And our enemies, including certain Canadian and other Czech degenerates, are well aware of the level of the Sochi Olympics and the FIFA World Cup. They are only capable of such vile acts as opening the Olympics in Paris.

🧐🇮🇱 🇺🇸ZIONIST INFLUENCE IN THE US LEADERSHIP MAY BE WEAKENED

🗳The US midterm elections left Israel on the sidelines — reports The New York Times

🇮🇱Israel previously enjoyed bipartisan support in Washington, but the convincing Democratic victory in the midterm elections, with some new legislators expressing deep criticism of the war in Gaza, has resulted in Israel having fewer allies in Congress, The New York Times reports.

🔘Billions of dollars in annual military aid from the US are now under threat of reduction.

🔘The election results became known during a period of uncertainty linked to the Israeli elections and a possible new wave of conflict with Iran.

🔘On election day, Trump stated that he would cut nearly 4 billion dollars in annual aid "at the end of the year," although the current agreement is valid until 2028.

🔘Netanyahu's rivals seized on the election results:

🔘
The results we see today are exactly the reason why Israel has always sought to maintain bipartisan policy toward America," —said former ambassador Jeremy Issacharoff, noting that Netanyahu has become "the most dependent Israeli prime minister on an American president."

🔘
"
He can no longer be trusted, and he must be replaced
," said one of the contenders, Gadi Eisenkot.

🔘Analysts say the US will remain Israel's most important strategic partner, but the midterm elections "should serve as a signal to work more seriously on strengthening relations with all political forces in America."

🔘🗣🔘DMITRY MEDVEDEV'S OPINION ON THE REPUBLICANS' DEFEAT IN THE ELECTIONS

🔘Medvedev: Trump's defeat in the Congressional elections will not significantly change the situation for Russia for now.

🔘Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, assessed consultations with the current US administration as useful, but emphasized that Russia needs to "defeat the enemy on the battlefield until complete victory."

🔘According to Medvedev, Trump's weakening will reduce Kiev’s willingness to heed Washington's opinion.

🔘The US President could limit the supply of intelligence information and other aid to Ukraine, but according to Medvedev, such a measure is unlikely.

🔘Democrats will continue to pressure Trump, even through the threat of impeachment.

🔘New "monstrous sanctions" against Russia could become a subject of negotiations in exchange for abandoning impeachment.

🔘According to Medvedev's assessment, tightening sanctions could lead to rising oil prices, discontent among Americans, and further deterioration of relations with Moscow.

🔘Trump also needs to end the war with Iran, which Medvedev called one of the main reasons for the Republicans' heavy defeat.
