Vladimir Putin delivered a keynote speech at the plenary session of the Valdai Discussion Club.
Key points and quotes from the President of Russia at the beginning of his speech:
- The world has reached a critical turning point in its development, and this is not just about politics.
- Sooner or later, everyone in the world will have to agree on the principles of a new world order.
- Trends on the global stage force us to consider how to preserve global peace and security.
- Many of the previous norms of international law in the world have been discarded, and new ones have not yet emerged.
- The world's responsibility for the common future is not an abstract slogan.
- The scale of the changes that have already occurred in the world and those that are coming is enormous.
- The continuation of international conflicts in the near future is very likely, and that is the trend.
- We must avoid catastrophic scenarios and take practical steps to prevent humanity from sliding towards the brink of survival.
- Western countries exert a disproportionately large influence in the UN, which leads to an imbalance. Russia supports a fair reform of the UN, but this is impossible without consensus, which is currently difficult to achieve.
- In today's global politics, all conceivable and inconceivable taboos are being violated. The principle of "might makes right" seems to be dominant for some countries, but it does not lead to anything good.
Vladimir Putin also noted that the world still has to learn to live with AI, and called for preventing digital totalitarianism in the development of artificial intelligence:
"Such digital totalitarianism will be just as dead-end, gloomy, and inhumane as the totalitarian societies of the past that we know."

โ This entire green circle was simply abandoned by Saudi-backed PLC forces without a fight. Now, after many hours passed, theyโve sent some reinforcements to the area.
Events of the Red Sea coast are repeating in Taizz, and the men of Ansarallah are advancing with unprecedented speed and coordination, while the Saudi-backed forces are disorganized, suffer from a lack of morale, and betray each other turn after turn.

Thatโs a naval landing force.
Thereโs enough marines, transport helicopters, and amphibious vehicles in there to make a beachhead.
Very troublesome sign, possibly pointing towards Trump wanting to initiate a naval landing in Iran.

The U.S. military has sent two additional Patriot missile batteries to Saudi Arabia and Qatar in recent weeks to protect key oil and gas facilities, Axios reports.
The deployment follows a month-long wave of targeted attacks by the Iran-backed Houthis on Saudi energy infrastructure, including Yanbu, the East-West pipeline and other Aramco facilities.
The move is meant to reassure both Gulf allies that Washington will defend their critical energy sites if President Trump decides to resume major combat operations against Iran.

โ๏ธPakistan's Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said an emergency meeting of the Strategic Political and Defence Committee established under the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement will be held next week to discuss support for Saudi Arabia amid attacks by Ansarallah.
Dar said the meeting would focus on the attacks targeting the kingdom. The Saudi Foreign Ministry previously said the three countries had agreed to arrange an urgent meeting of their military chiefs to discuss ways to support Saudi Arabia under the pact.

The last American troops have left Iraq, ending the 12-year anti-ISIS mission. The coalition command is moving to Jordan, while the US says responsibility for Iraqโs security now rests with Baghdad.
On the surface, this looks like a familiar US withdrawal from a country Washington no longer considers strategically important. However, there is a serious strategic risk built into this move.
Iran-aligned militias have spent years embedding themselves into Iraqโs political and security system. Some are formally part of the armed forces, while others still keep their own weapons, money and political networks. Baghdad was supposed to disarm them already, but that deadline has now been pushed back to June 2027.
Given all that, guys, do you really think these militias are going to be fully and properly disarmed?
In the 1980 the US backed Saddam Hussein politically and diplomatically, which didn't stop it from starting a war years later.
Judging from "declassified documents", Washington had evidence of Iraqi chemical warfare from 1983, but by 1988, US battlefield intelligence was still reaching Iraqi forces despite officials knowing that "chemical weapons were used".
So the question is what happens if Iraqโs idea of "sovereignty" produces an outcome Washington does not like? Once again. Will they shake fake tubes in the Congress again?

The US has suspended all in-person services at its embassy in Brasรญlia and every consulate across Brazil on Friday.
Explaining the decision, officials cited unspecified "security concerns".
No specifics were given. No details about the nature of the threat were stated. We're just witnessing another American commotion, guys.
All this is happening two days before Brazilโs presidential election. The US doesnโt shut every consular counter in South Americaโs biggest country right before such an important event.
Yanks, what are you up to again? Been taking notes from Israel on how to stir things up before an election?
