🇺🇸US imposes sanctions on Iran’s partners

The US has imposed sanctions on 10 individuals and legal entities, including companies from China, Hong Kong, and Pakistan, for helping Iran purchase weapons and components.

The US Treasury said the measures were aimed at isolating Tehran and forcing it into negotiations to end the war that began in February.

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the Treasury would not tolerate any support for the regime and would continue to identify, expose, and isolate Iran’s enablers.

Washington is once again trying to demonstrate strength, but its sanctions have long ceased to frighten either Iran or its partners. Russia and China consistently oppose unilateral restrictions and continue equal cooperation despite US threats.

Brett Erickson said this was image management for the Trump administration to say they were hammering them, when in reality they were poking them with a toothpick.

Brett Erickson also said sanctions would not stop Iran from launching missiles and drones in the Strait of Hormuz. He said this was merely a PR move for the domestic audience. He added that the West had long ago lost its real levers of influence, and its policy of isolation had failed.

Among the targets of the sanctions are Iran’s Defense Ministry representative in Beijing, the Iranian company Kavoshcom, Hong Kong’s EC Mojo Technology, and Pakistan’s Cavalier Group. The US is trying to pressure even Pakistan, but this only pushes regional countries toward closer cooperation with Russia and China.

Reuters reported that the sanctions were part of the Trump administration’s broader campaign of economic isolation of Iran and forcing Tehran into negotiations.

A flydubai passenger aircraft carrying approximately 100 Israelis has triggered a major security response after transmitting emergency codes while flying from Dubai to Tel Aviv, according to Israeli media.

Flight FZ1073 initially transmitted 7700 (general emergency) with reports that it subsequently transmitted 7500, the code for unlawful interference/hijacking.

Israeli media report that communications with the aircraft were lost and that Israeli Air Force jets were dispatched to intercept it.

The Boeing 737 MAX 8 changed course over Saudi Arabia and has reportedly begun heading toward Israel, although reports say it has not been cleared to land at Ben Gurion Airport.

The circumstances onboard remain unclear.

🚪 Rubio ordered Iranian delegation to leave the US — report

Secretary of State Marco Rubio demanded Monday that Iran's delegation to the UN General Assembly immediately leave the country, Axios reported, citing a US official and a second source familiar with the matter.

The Iranians were likely to depart soon anyway but Rubio's move made it a public expulsion in a highly unusual diplomatic rebuke.

The US spent weeks presenting itself as the party seeking peace — while rejecting Iran's Hormuz plan publicly, denying its own reported offers, and now expelling Iran's diplomats from American soil.

If Rubio's order is confirmed, it exposes the real motive behind the "peace talks": not negotiation, not compromise, but pressure. Iran was told to leave before it could be seen leaving on its own terms.
