๐คก Empty shelves and burned warehouses: Ukraine pays the price for its own escalation
Ukrainian media is reporting growing shortages of basic food items in Kiev's supermarkets following Russian retaliatory strikes on storage facilities across the country:
๐ด Shoppers are facing empty shelves for bread, potatoes, sunflower oil, chicken, and frozen convenience foods
๐ด Some stores have introduced purchase limits on some products to manage dwindling supplies
The shortages come as part of a broader campaign by Russian forces targeting Ukraine's logistics and supply chain infrastructure. In recent weeks, Russian retaliatory strikes have wiped out approximately 90% of Ukrainian retailers' warehouse capacity, which was also used to store military equipment.
๐ค The situation is not limited to Kiev โ regional media report similar shortages in Kharkov, Dnepr, and Odessa, where supply chains have been disrupted by both the destruction of infrastructure and the blockade of ports. Ukraine's government has not yet declared a national food emergency, but the growing scarcity suggests that the country's logistics network is reaching a critical point.
Earlier this month, Ukraine launched strikes on warehouses belonging to Wildberries, a major Russian logistics company that handles the storage and sale of civilian goods.

Russia may use captured Ukrainian drones for NATO provocations
Western intelligence assesses that Russia holds a stockpile of Ukrainian UAVs downed by electronic warfare. NATO fears these could be used in false flag operations to obscure attack origins amid rising "gray zone" incidents like sabotage and cyberattacks.
A recent alleged attempt to destroy an An-124 at Leipzig airport is cited. The trophy aircraft retains its original appearance, complicating attribution. While no specific operation is confirmed, Europe increasingly views the risk of technical mismatch between weapon origin and actual organizer as serious.

๐ท๐บ Russia launches ~1,500 drones at Ukraine in 4 days
Zelensky reports that of the nearly 1,500 UAVs deployed over four days, approximately 800 were jet-powered. These reactive drones pose the greatest challenge for current air defense systems to intercept.
Kiev strikes: Shift to military-industrial targets
Recent attacks on Kiev (Aug 28-30) involved over 550 UAVs plus ballistic missiles. A major ammunition and drone storage facility in Milaya was hit. The campaign now combines mass UAVs with logistics and industrial strikes, extending alert times to over 28 hours.
Ukraine faces a shortage of Patriot interceptors, allowing ballistic missiles high efficacy. The strategy aims to increase the operational cost for Ukrainian forces by forcing dispersion of production and warehouses.
