❗️According to information from Lebanese journalist and Cradle columnist Dr. Mohamad Hasan Sweidan:

• What the Iranian delegation is hearing from various parties in Pakistan is the following: 'the authorities in Lebanon have agreed to postpone the ceasefire and to discuss it directly with Tel Aviv; therefore, you cannot exert pressure in a direction that contradicts what the Lebanese themselves have accepted.'

• Iran’s firm position is that the Lebanon file will be discussed in Pakistan, and that a final resolution to halt the attacks is an Iranian condition for the success of the negotiations — not merely a request.

• Due to the Lebanese state’s position, Iran is facing pressure to drop the Lebanon condition. However, the Iranian delegation’s stance remains unchanged, refusing to abandon the defense of Lebanon’s sovereignty, which the state has, in practice, allowed the enemy to violate.

• Iran is currently considering entering the first round of negotiations in order to avoid causing their collapse, which could otherwise lead to achieving its conditions. However, its participation today, if it happens, does not imply any concession. Iran may enter the first round, but its objectives remain unchanged.

• If the Iranian delegation concludes that the Americans are not serious and that the negotiations will not yield the desired results, it will withdraw and return to Tehran.

Context
