- With great sorrow and grief, it is announced that following the brutal attack by the criminal government of America and the vile Zionist regime, the exemplar of faith, jihad, and resistance, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Grand Ayatollah Imam Khamenei, has attained the great blessing of martyrdom.

- The righteous successor of the Spirit of God who, for more than 37 years of wise leadership, took on the pioneering and true flag-bearing of the Islamic front, and with exemplary courage and steadfast faith, ushered in a new chapter of governance in the history of Islam, and until the last moment of his blessed and historic life, led the Islamic nation against disbelief, tyranny, and arrogance.

- The proud martyr Grand Ayatollah Imam Khamenei, a model of sacrifice and resistance in the present era, was "the Imam of sincere promises, the Imam of hope and power" in the minds of the free, the oppressed, and the fighters of the world, and will forever remain immortal alongside the name of "The Great Khomeini" in the hearts of the peoples of the world. His comprehensiveness and mastery of contemporary sciences, wisdom, foresight, pure faith, sincerity in action, iron will, deep belief in his words, deeds, and goals, unparalleled courage, extensive religious knowledge, gentle and pure spirit, and hope and trust in the Almighty Creator were outstanding characteristics of this great personality rarely found in any political leader.

- The Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran offers its condolences on this great loss to the Honorable Qa'im al-Mahdi (may our souls be sacrificed for him), the noble nation of Iran, the great Islamic Ummah, and all the free people of the world, and in sympathy with the resilient Iranian nation, declares 40 days of public mourning and 7 days of public holiday.

- This great crime will never go unanswered and will mark a new chapter in the history of the Islamic world and Shi'ism. The pure blood of this high-ranking master will gush forth like a roaring spring and will eradicate American-Zionist oppression and crime. This time, with all power and firmness, relying on the Islamic Ummah and the free people of the world, we will make the perpetrators and instigators of this great crime regret their actions.

- Our dear Iran, with the support of divine victory, united and single-hearted, will proudly pass through this difficult passage; for God is watching over our oppressive enemies and is the helper of the believers and the oppressed.

Irans command structure is still in tact and responding with coordination. It appears that’s hardliners are now in charge and the war will be fought despite the loss of the Ayatollah Khamenei.

He was just a figurehead at 86 and his death will likely have a uniting factor instead of the hoped for decapitation and ensuring chaos.

Israel expended many of their intelligence assets inside Iran during the 12 day war, we saw almost nothing from inside Iran this time. I believe Israel assumed the U.S. would get involved fully in a regime change operation or that the regime was weaker than it was.

We are also not seeing popular uprisings as that card was also played in early January. According to many sources this attack was delayed by at least a month which would imply that the strikes were intended to support the violent oppositional protests which was actively engaging the regime. Most of the “dissidents” were weeded out and the momentum of any opposition inside of Iran culled.

This does not mean that a civil conflict won’t happen but it takes time a resources unless the population is ready to revolt. I’m not seeing evidence for this at this time.

Irans goal is the survival of the regime, anything less for the west will deemed a colossal failure.
