โ๏ธHigh profile Israeli-American brothers face trial for sex trafficking in the US
Three Israeli-American brothersโtwins Alon and Orin and their older brother Tal Alexanderโare on trial in the US accused of running a sex trafficking and rape network. Originally from Israel, the Alexanders built a high-profile career in luxury real estate, serving wealthy clients and celebrities, but prosecutors allege they used parties, drugs, and coercion to assault women, with each brother accused of raping at least 10 victims.
Court testimony has included accounts from women lured to parties, drugged with substances such as ketamine, Xanax, Ambien, and GHB, and assaulted. Several civil suits have also been filed, including one by Kate Whiteman, who claimed she was attacked in the Hamptons in 2012; she later died in Australia under circumstances deemed non-suspicious. Text messages presented in court suggest the brothers coordinated drug use to incapacitate women.
Outside court last week, their father Shlomi Alexander, who emigrated from Israel to the US to start a successful security company before branching into Miami real estate, claimed the cases had begun with a $35 million effort to extort him. The defense argues the allegations are part of this extortion attempt and describes the brothersโ behavior as consensual dating rather than trafficking. The trial is ongoing, with prosecutors emphasizing coordinated assaults and drug use.

โญ๏ธ FT: Iran signs secret $589 million missile deal with Russia
According to the Financial Times, Iran has signed a secret $589 million arms deal with Russia to obtain thousands of advanced shoulder-fired missiles.
The agreement, reportedly signed in Moscow in December, obligates Russia to supply 500 man-portable "Verba" launch units and 2,500 "9M336" missiles over three years, the FT said, citing leaked Russian documents and sources familiar with the deal.
Deliveries are planned in three tranches from 2027 to 2029, according to the FT. The negotiations took place between Russian state arms exporter Rosoboronexport and the Moscow representative of Iran's Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics, the FT reported.
Tehran officially requested the systems last July, as indicated in a contract seen by the FT.

The liquidation of Iran's supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, and his son Mojtaba is being considered by Donald Trump, Axios reports.
The American leadership has numerous options for action against Iran. The USA could agree to a symbolic uranium enrichment by Tehran, as long as it does not provide a means to create nuclear weapons.
โ๏ธPreviously, Donald Trump stated that he is considering the possibility of limited strikes against Iran to push Tehran towards a nuclear deal.

"Trump will be willing to accept a deal that is substantial. <...> If the Iranians want to prevent an attack, they need to make us an offer we can't refuse. The Iranians continue to miss the opportunity," says a senior American official.

๐บ๐ธ Hegseth to meet Anthropic CEO and issue ultimatum as Pentagon threatens banishment.
โClaude is the only AI model available in the military's classified systems, and the most capable model for sensitive defense and intelligence work. The Pentagon doesn't want to lose access to Claude, but is furious with Anthropic for refusing to lift its safeguards entirely.
Anthropic is willing to loosen its existing usage restrictions, but wants to wall off two areas: the mass surveillance of Americans, and the development of weapons that fire without human involvement
It would be a massive task to offboard Anthropic, which is deeply entrenched, and replace it with another AI lab that currently has inferior capabilities.โ - Axios
