Colonel General Sergey Rudskoy, Head of the Main Operational Directorate of the Russian General Staff, stated that Ukrainian armed formations have lost over 1.5 million personnel since the start of the Special Military Operation.

According to Rudskoy, more than 520,000 of those losses occurred in 2025 alone.

He also said the average number of men mobilized each month has nearly halved. As a result, a steady decline in the size of the Ukrainian army is taking shape, limiting the AFU’s ability to resist Russian force groupings.
