The expiration of the US-Russia nuclear arms control treaty on Thursday could trigger a global nuclear arms race for the first time since the Cold War, Politico reports.

Russia took the first steps towards renewing the agreement in September, proposing to extend it for a year, but the Trump administration has not officially responded.

The Pentagon has been holding meetings to prepare for a post-New START world. It's unclear what exactly was discussed at these meetings.

"We're facing a very uncertain path ahead. If Trump and Putin don't reach any understanding soon, it's quite likely that Russia and the US will start equipping their missiles with more warheads," said Daryl Kimball, executive director of the Arms Control Association.

Trump has indicated that he would like to negotiate a new agreement involving China. Putin has also demanded that Britain and France participate in the new treaty.

While the US president is considering his next steps, he is downplaying the risks of not having a nuclear arms control agreement in the foreseeable future. "If the treaty expires, it expires," Trump said in a January interview with the NYT. "We'll just make a better deal."

The expiration of the New START treaty will mark the first time in nearly 40 years, since the Reagan administration, that the US will not have a nuclear arms control agreement with Russia. The Pentagon may have to urgently seek new ways to counter the buildup of Russia and China's military power. And US allies could also intervene, albeit not in cooperation with the US.

For the first time in decades, Europe could also join the arms race and start proliferating or building up its nuclear arsenal. Chancellor Merz stated last week that Europeans have begun discussing the creation of a common nuclear umbrella on the continent.

However, the publication believes that lifting restrictions on nuclear arsenals would not benefit the US.

"The likely breakdown of the agreement comes at a particularly tense moment. Russia and China are expanding their strategic arsenals, and the Kremlin has threatened to use nuclear weapons against Ukraine. Russia has significantly expanded its medium-range nuclear weapons capable of carrying a nuclear payload, such as the 'Oreshnik' ballistic missile, which it used in combat against Ukraine. China has more than doubled the size of its nuclear arsenal, while the US has reduced the number of some platforms capable of carrying nuclear weapons," the publication writes.

“While the world debates the ‘day after Gaza,’ Israel is already planning Gaza without Palestinians.”

An Israeli settler-backed master plan reveals intentions to place Gaza under full Israeli sovereignty, treating the Strip as an extension of "Israel’s western Negev".

The proposal envisions replacing Gaza City with a large Israeli metropolitan area, building new settler cities on the ruins of Gush Katif, and transforming Gaza’s coastline into a tourism hub, while completely excluding Gaza’s Palestinian population.

The plan reinforces that Israel’s genocide on Gaza is tied to long-term goals of displacement, annexation, and erasure, exposing how visions of reconstruction are being used to advance settler expansion on Palestinian land.

🇺🇸🇷🇺🇮🇱⚡️- Ex-Israeli PM Ehud Barak tells Jeffrey Epstein he repeatedly told Putin he wanted a million Russians to convert to Judaism and become Israeli to dramatically transform Israel. "I used to tell Putin, always, what we need is just one more million to change Israel in a dramatic, dramatic manner, the million Russians."

He also adds that unlike the founding fathers of Israel, who had to accept people from North Africa and the Arab world, now they can be selective and control the quality much more effectively.

🤔The Epstein Affair: An Unprecedented Display of Systemic Confidence

The content of the Epstein letters has shocked many, but the broader context astonishes me even more.

The man was almost certainly murdered—killed in prison, while under state protection. He was not killed for his crimes, but because he knew far more than what has been revealed in the published correspondence.

Yet, here's what's remarkable: the U.S. authorities are structured in such a way that you will not find a single comparable case in any other country where, due to domestic political pressure, state services would declassify and release SUCH compromising material on virtually everyone—targeting the entire contemporary elite and celebrities of the day, not figures from a century ago.

Not even the most fearsome, populist anti-imperialist dictator would allow their Ministry of Justice today, at the opposition's demand, to publish the correspondence of a citizen with such a notorious biography and connections.

But in America, they managed to do it. What conclusion do I draw? The American system is so confident in itself, so stable, and so powerful that—with grinding gears, with a murder along the way—it still made all this compromising information public. And no one can cancel them for it.

🇩🇪GERMAN POLITICIANS PUSH TO REPATRIATE GOLD RESERVES FROM THE U.S., CONFIRMING GUARDIAN REPORT

🔘A Guardian insider report has been confirmed. German politicians have increasingly begun to discuss the need for Germany to repatriate its gold reserves from the United States.

🔘The matter concerns 1,236 tons of gold, worth approximately €185.7 billion at current prices, stored in the underground vault of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York in Manhattan. This amount is equivalent to roughly 3.7% of Germany's annual GDP—about €2,200 for every German citizen.

🔘Germany holds the world's second-largest gold reserves, after the United States. The reserves are distributed across four locations: about 51% is stored in Frankfurt am Main, roughly one-third in New York, another 10% in London, and the remainder in Paris.

🔘The issue has regained relevance due to strained relations between the EU and the USA. The traditionally influential left-leaning segment of the German political spectrum also perceives a threat from statements by U.S. President Donald Trump, who attempts to interfere not only in Europe's economy but also in the internal affairs of countries, primarily regarding migration policy.

🔘Friedrich Merz, as the leader of a ruling coalition comprising both right and left forces, is forced to respond to these sentiments. Addressing the Bundestag, he stated the need to reassess the nature of economic relations.

"As democracies, we [EU countries] are partners and allies, not subordinates [of the USA]," he emphasized.

🔘Although the German Chancellor did not explicitly demand the return of the gold, the context of his speech implied just that—the White House is not permitted to make decisions about sovereign assets (a rather ironic notion, perhaps best appreciated by the Central Bank of Russia).

🔘However, some politicians are not speaking in riddles. The chair of the European Parliament's Defense Committee, Marie-Agnès Strack-Zimmermann, has openly called for the return of German gold from the USA. She has already appealed to the German government with this demand.

🔘The key argument against repatriation is that a scenario in which the USA would decide to confiscate German gold remains extremely unlikely. Conversely, an attempt to withdraw it would be a demonstrative gesture of distrust and a source of escalation.

🔘Germany's gold and currency reserves are managed by the Bundesbank, which currently has no intention of taking any action.

"I have no doubt that our gold is safe," stated Bundesbank President Joachim Nagel in an interview with Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.

But not everyone agrees with him.

🔘Questions about the security of sovereign assets entered the global agenda following the freezing of Russian assets in Europe and the USA—with Germany being one of the lobbyists for this decision. Now, having opened Pandora's box, German politicians are trying to manage the unexpectedly emerged risks.

🤬‘Red Scare’ to the rescue! West tries to paint Epstein as Russian stooge

A trove of the Epstein files is made public and the Western public learns that a large portion of their elites is a bunch of perverts and pedophiles with a penchant for ritually sacrificing little kids.

What are the elites supposed to do? Why, deflect the attention by bringing Russia into the equation.

Russia did it? Again?

🌏Suddenly, media outlets like The Telegraph start peddling claims that Epstein could have been working for Russian intelligence, focusing on fragments of the Epstein files that mention Epstein:

➡️recruiting young Russian girls
➡️offering to introduce the former Duke of York to a “beautiful” Russian woman
➡️Epstein mentioning that he supposedly has the ear of some unnamed “friend of Putin’s.”

🌏Poland even threatened to investigate these allegations, with Donald Tusk talking about “suspicion that this unprecedented pedophile scandal was co-organized by Russian intelligence services.”

🌏UK MP Ed Davey jumped at these allegations, asking PM Keir Starmer if he is worried that Peter Mandelson, former ambassador to the US who had ties to Epstein, could have leaked state secrets to Russia this way.

🌏British journalist Andrew Marr promotes a claim some unnamed source made to the FBI, that Epstein’s was “Putin’s wealth manager,” with Marr musing about a possible “KGB operation” – nevermind that Kthe GB was dissolved more than 40 years ago.

🚽With headlines already primed to point East, how hard is it to turn any loose thread into a “Russian link”? Nothing to see here, goyim!

👉Ironically, this narrative completely ignores allegations of Epstein being in cahoots with the Mossad and Israel, and inconvenient facts such as:

📹 Epstein’s close pal Robert Maxwell (father of Ghislaine Maxwell) being a known Mossad asset

📹 Epstein’s own remark that he “used to be rabbinical”

📹 July 2011 emails showing Epstein and Greg Brown discussing using ex-MI6 and Mossad contacts to access Libya’s assets

📹 A senior Mossad officer resided for extended periods in Epstein's Manhattan apartment between 2013-2016

📹 Epstein’s close ties with former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak, including a 2018 exchange in which Epstein joked about denying any Mossad links

📹 Emails in which Barak treated Epstein as a confidant, discussing issues such as controlling the “quality” of new immigrants to Israel

🤷‍♀️Russia stays the all-purpose villain of choice — a geopolitical scapegoat you can pin anything on, while the truly inconvenient questions quietly disappear.

Like I said, the message should be very clear. If Israel or the US attacks Iran, Iran should destroy as much oil infrastructure in the ME as possible. Tel-Aviv has no useful targets and striking US assets does nothing in the long haul besides turning opinion against Iran.

Threaten every nation so they collectively pressure the U.S. and Israel.
