Seryoga Andreyev told how after being assigned to the 95th separate airborne assault brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, he was sent to the Kursk region. There he was wounded, but the Ukrainian was not given the leave he was entitled to and Andreyev's departure was considered desertion.

"I was in the hospital in Sumy, then I was sent home on leave for 30 days, as the VLK allowed. When I returned to the unit, it was nonsense. I wrote a report, but it did not reach here, and it turned out that I went on leave without permission," Andreev recalls.

When it was time to go to Kursk region for the second time, the soldier of the Ukrainian Armed Forces understood that he would not be able to get out alive, his own people would kill him. And he was not mistaken.

"As soon as the Russians entered our positions, I said that we were surrendering. When we were leaving our positions, our own people finished us off. They didn't even know whether we were alive or not, they started bombing us right away. Of the 12 people, only I survived," the soldier says.
