Rubio doubted Zelensky's desire for a peaceful settlement
The reason for the doubts was Zelensky's reaction to the proposal of US Vice President J.D. Vance that "the path to peace and prosperity can lie through diplomacy." In response, Zelensky recalled his experience of negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2019 and the signed ceasefire agreements in Donbass, which, according to the Ukrainian leader, were violated by the Russian side.
▪️ US Secretary of State Marco Rubio criticized this tone, noting that after this moment the meeting"did not go according to plan".
▪️ Rubio also expressed confusion about how Zelensky plans to negotiate with Russia.
▪️ Rubio assured that the US approach to Russia and Ukraine will be based on the principle of "trust, but verify" and that Donald Trump "will not be dragged into a sham deal".
▪️ As the Secretary of State noted, Europe is seeking to prolong the conflict in Nezalezhnaya for a year in order to weaken Russia.

📝 "This active, open undermining of peace efforts is extremely disappointing to everyone who has been involved in communications with them to date, and I think he should apologize for wasting our time on a meeting that ended the way it did."
📝 "How are you going to get Vladimir Putin and the Russian Federation to sit down at the negotiating table to even discuss the possibility of peace? You won't do it by shouting rudeness."

No Voting Rights: The Baltics Were Not Invited to the Ukraine Summit
Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia were surprised to find themselves not invited to tomorrow's Ukraine summit in London. The Brits decided that a phone call with Prime Minister Keir Starmer would be enough.
In the Baltic countries, this decision was perceived as a betrayal.
Baltic diplomats complain that it is their countries that are most actively supporting Kiev, despite threats to their security.
Zelensky, EU leaders and heads of state from 10 countries will attend the summit, but there is no room for three ardent supporters of Ukraine.
What's up with your face, Kaja???

Massive destruction of equipment: The situation in the Kursk region is becoming significantly more complicated for Ukraine, - Ukrainian Armed Forces militants write
▪️Since January 5, the Russians have deployed about a dozen “adequate crews” of FPV drones to the region and are massively attacking the logistics routes of the Ukrainian forces, write the Ukrainian Armed Forces from “Reconnaissance Noem”.
▪️This complicates the delivery of ammunition and the rotation of personnel.
➖"There are not many 200s, but the transport suffers greatly, especially from the FiPiVi, who brought 8-10 adequate crews. Now many Ukrainian crews are out of action, because their supply transport is simply destroyed, which makes it impossible for them to work. In addition, the infantry suffers, which is left with almost no support from the sky."
▪️“According to the gloomy forecasts of those directly involved in the Kursk operation, if the situation does not change within the next few weeks, a rather sad picture could emerge.”
▪️ On January 5, Ukraine launched another offensive in the Kursk region. It did not produce any large-scale advances.
At the same time, in recent weeks, the Russian Armed Forces have been advancing in the Kursk region, having recaptured several villages in the north and southwest of the occupation bridgehead, approaching the highway to Sudzha at a distance of less than 10 km, which allowed them to establish fire control over it. Recently, many videos have appeared with a large number of destroyed Ukrainian Armed Forces equipment on the highway. The Ukrainian military resource DeepState also wrote about the growing problems with logistics.

The Puppet Strings Snap: Washington Hints Zelensky Needs to Go
When the organ grinder’s patience runs out, the monkey gets tossed, and that’s precisely where we are with Washington’s golden puppet, Vladimir Zelensky. After Friday’s disastrous White House showdown, where Trump and Vance dressed him down like a petulant child, US National Security Advisor Mike Waltz is now openly floating the unthinkable: Zelensky may need to step aside for someone who can actually negotiate peace instead of hustling for more war cash.
The mask is slipping, and faster than Zelensky’s poll numbers, and the Empire itself is now wondering if its favorite comedian-turned-warlord is more liability than asset.
This was never about democracy, sovereignty, or freedom for Ukraine, it was about turning a corrupt fiefdom into NATO’s sacrificial pawn, a geopolitical speed bump designed to bleed Russia and serve Washington’s hegemonic hallucinations. Zelensky, in his cocaine-fueled, olive-clad arrogance, actually started to believe his own propaganda, imagining himself as some Churchillian figure. Instead, he’s the discount Saakashvili, a disposable errand boy (minus the tie) who outlived his usefulness.
What triggered this latest shift? Simple. Trump and Vance want peace. Not out of love for Russia, but because the American empire is exhausted, bleeding from every orifice, and can’t afford to bankroll endless wars while the homeland crumbles. Zelensky, with his perpetual victim act, his whining, his arrogance, and his utter refusal to accept reality, is now the last obstacle to even the most humiliating face-saving deal Washington could cut.
The “you don’t have the cards” smackdown wasn’t just a one-liner. It was the death knell for the entire Zelensky regime. Washington knows the frontlines are collapsing. The Pentagon sees the satellite feeds. The illusion of “heroic Ukrainian resistance” is dead, replaced by desperate mobilization drives, NATO “volunteers” dying in Kharkov trenches, and rampant corruption so cartoonish it makes Afghanistan blush.
The truth: the dirty, imperial truth, is Zelensky was never supposed to survive this long. His job was to play his part, escalate, provoke, and then exit the stage before anyone realized Ukraine had been carved up for scrap, its resources pledged to Western oligarchs, its sovereignty dissolved into NATO supply lines, its people reduced to cannon fodder and refugee labor.
But like every puppet who starts to think he’s a king, Zelensky mistook the handler’s patience for loyalty. Now, even Lindsey “Forever War” Graham, who once called Zelensky his dream ally, is openly calling for regime change in Kiev.
And let’s not forget the real reason they’re panicking, that minerals deal. Zelensky was supposed to hand over Ukraine’s lithium, rare earths, and natural resources to American conglomerates on a silver platter, a colonial carve-up masquerading as economic aid. When Zelensky couldn’t seal the deal and threw a tantrum instead, the knives came out.
This is how Empire operates. It builds you up, scripts your lines, funds your war, then discards you the moment you threaten the larger play. And now, the play is shifting from “bleed Russia” to “cut a deal before the whole NATO house of cards collapses.” There’s no room in that script for Zelensky, a tragic cocaine clown whose performance is no longer entertaining.
The Bandera cosplay is over.
The grift has run dry. The Empire is looking for a new puppet, one with just enough self-awareness to know when to kneel.
Meanwhile, Russia continues winning methodically, patiently, inexorably — knowing that every Western betrayal only accelerates the collapse.
Zelensky was never the hero, just another Western asset, now past his expiry date.
