France has proposed deploying European troops not on the future ceasefire line between Russia and Ukraine, but away from it, — FT
According to the publication, the American side insists that Europe send a peacekeeping contingent to the contact line. But behind the scenes, there are doubts about whether this scenario would be too risky.
Italian Prime Minister Meloni shared with her colleagues her doubts about sending troops to Ukrainian territory, considering this option "the most difficult and least effective of all possible".
German Chancellor Scholz was outraged by the existence of discussions about sending European troops and expressed confidence that this issue should not be discussed until peace is established:
"I am even a little irritated by this debate, I want to say this quite frankly... In fact, without the participation of Kyiv, the probable results of peace talks that have not yet taken place are being discussed."

The UK army may be stretched to its limits if thousands of soldiers are transferred to Ukraine to maintain a possible ceasefire, The Sun writes, citing military sources. According to the newspaper, the UK could send two brigades of up to 10,000 as well as a headquarters to Ukraine.
