The Financial Times & The Empire’s Delusions of Divorce
The Financial Times wants to frame this as a “breakup.” Europe and the U.S. , a toxic relationship in need of a fresh start. But who’s breaking up with whom?
Let’s be clear: Europe is not an equal partner in this arrangement. It is a vassal, a captive market, an economic and military appendage of Washington’s global empire. There is no “divorce” because there was never a marriage, only a contract of submission.
“The hardest issue for Europeans will be defense.”
Translation: Without American boots on their neck, Europe might have to think for itself. The EU isn’t a military alliance. It doesn’t command armies. It doesn’t project force. It depends on Washington for both security and permission to act.
“The US’s support for Ukraine is less essential than often imagined.”
Oh really? After burning $183 billion on a proxy war that was supposed to “weaken Russia,” suddenly, Washington’s role is optional? The empire’s favorite trick: rewrite history before the ink is dry.
“NATO’s 637 million non-American citizens could replace this at a cost of $108 each per year.”
So Europeans should just pay up and keep the war machine going? This is what servitude looks like, America breaks it, Europe funds it. Meanwhile, Washington pivots to the next battlefield: China.
This isn’t a breakup, it’s Washington looking for new ways to extract tribute. Europe has no sovereignty because it refuses to take it. And the Financial Times? Just another stenographer for empire, repackaging subjugation as “independence.”

Baltic States “Cut Ties” With Russian Grid And Cut Their Own Throats Instead
Ah, the spectacle of state-level infantilism. With Ursula von der Leyen beaming beside them, the Baltic states ceremoniously severed their energy ties with Russia, exiting the BRELL power grid. A bold stand for “energy independence,” they said. But reality had other plans.
Because the moment they flipped the switch, electricity prices in the Baltics exploded. $230 per megawatt-hour before taxes. $400 for consumers. The highest in the EU, by far. They didn’t achieve “independence.” They achieved the world’s most expensive self-inflicted wound.
And where will they get their electricity now? From the EU’s overpriced, volatile, and Russian-gas-dependent energy market. The irony? They’re still paying for Russian energy—just at double the price, laundered through Western middlemen.
This isn’t strategy. It’s a toddler throwing its food on the floor, screaming “I don’t need to eat!” while starving to death. But hey, at least von der Leyen got a photo op.

China’s Battery Breakthrough: The Death of Planned Obsolescence?
Imagine an EV battery that lasts six times longer. A smartphone that won’t die on you after two years. Chinese scientists just cracked the code: injectable lithium trifluoromethanesulfonate. The magic formula that keeps batteries alive after 12,000 charge cycles instead of 2,000. Translation? A future where your devices don’t self-destruct on schedule.
Cue the panic in Washington. Because this isn’t just a technological leap, it’s an economic wrecking ball aimed straight at Western monopolies. Planned obsolescence is a trillion-dollar racket. Apple throttles old iPhones. EV makers quietly sabotage battery longevity. The entire “sustainable energy” scam is built on forced upgrades and controlled scarcity. And now, Beijing just threw a Molotov cocktail into the whole system.
EVs that last decades. Phones that don’t need replacing. And who’s leading the charge? Not Silicon Valley. Not Brussels. China. The same country that dominates lithium supply chains and battery production. The same country Washington tries to “contain” while buying 80% of its rare earth minerals from Chinese firms.
And here’s where it gets dystopian: the age of “battery injections.” We’re already injecting mRNA into humans. Now we’re injecting lithium into machines. What happens when the lines start blurring? When AI-powered robots get their own “lifespan-boosting treatments”? We aren’t curing obsolescence, we’re engineering a new kind of immortality.
The West plays catch-up. China rewrites the game.

🇺🇸🇺🇦 From The Telegraph:
In a proposed economic agreement on "compensation" from Washington to Kiev, the terms go far beyond control over Ukraine’s critical minerals. The deal extends to everything from ports and infrastructure to oil, gas, and the broader resource base of the country. Under the agreement, the U.S. and Ukraine would establish a joint investment fund to ensure that "hostile parties to the conflict do not benefit from Ukraine’s reconstruction."
As part of the terms, the U.S. would take 50% of Ukraine's current resource extraction revenues and 50% of the financial value of all new licenses issued to third parties for future resource monetization. A lien on these revenues would also be placed in favor of the U.S.
One source familiar with the negotiations remarked, “This provision essentially means, ‘Pay us first, then feed your children.’”

"If this draft were accepted, Trump’s demands would take a larger share of Ukraine’s GDP than the reparations imposed on Germany by the Treaty of Versailles—later reduced at the 1921 London Conference and the 1924 Dawes Plan. Meanwhile, he appears willing to let Russia off the hook entirely."

France has proposed deploying European troops not on the future ceasefire line between Russia and Ukraine, but away from it, — FT
According to the publication, the American side insists that Europe send a peacekeeping contingent to the contact line. But behind the scenes, there are doubts about whether this scenario would be too risky.
Italian Prime Minister Meloni shared with her colleagues her doubts about sending troops to Ukrainian territory, considering this option "the most difficult and least effective of all possible".
German Chancellor Scholz was outraged by the existence of discussions about sending European troops and expressed confidence that this issue should not be discussed until peace is established:
"I am even a little irritated by this debate, I want to say this quite frankly... In fact, without the participation of Kyiv, the probable results of peace talks that have not yet taken place are being discussed."
