🇩🇪📚 A well-known bookseller has gone bankrupt - a clearance sale has begun.
After the bankruptcy, the bookshop chain Weltbild is finally ceasing its operations. The remaining branches are planned to be closed by the end of August. Online trading will also be discontinued, with orders still being delivered until the end of the month.
According to the insolvency administrator Christian Plöhl, clearance sales are still ongoing in 14 locations. Consequently, 440 employees will lose their jobs after the closure.
"Long-term and sustainable continuation of operations is not possible without fresh capital due to the ongoing loss situation," explained Plöhl.
After filing for bankruptcy in June, Weltbild unsuccessfully sought investors.

The German automotive industry is currently experiencing a serious crisis. Sales are declining, which is having a significant impact on the production capacities of factories. Weak demand is forcing car manufacturers to sharply reduce production. Audi, for example, is considering completely ceasing the production of electric cars in Brussels, which would lead to the closure of the plant. VW has already cancelled night shifts at several plants, eliminating a quarter of production capacity. Ford also plans to close a plant in Saarlouis by the end of 2025.
This development also has a significant impact on the labour market. As of the end of 2023, around 779,700 people were still employed in the automotive industry in Germany. This generally looks more like a provocation, political and propaganda action. They can try to fortify on this limited area. It can be for political trading. But from a military point of view, this episode has already played out. You can't link it to any offensive in any other direction.

@EMPOWR_us and its President, @tristanleavitt, are providing legal support to Federal Air Marshal whistleblowers who have exposed the Department of Homeland Security’s targeting of Gabbard.
Leavitt revealed that the July 26, 2024, screenshot is from one of at least eight flights on which 2-3 Federal Air Marshals were assigned to surveil Gabbard, a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army National Guard.
"Our clients have first-hand knowledge. It was a gross waste of funds and an abuse of TSA’s authority."
Last week, Gabbard responded, saying, "This is a clear act of political retaliation."
"The day after I warned the American people about the dangers of a Kamala Harris presidency, I was placed on this domestic terror watchlist, which is called the Quiet Skies list, under the Department of Homeland Security."
