โถ๏ธ One of the cornerstones of the piano repertoire, the 24 Preludes by Claude Debussy, has distinctive programmatic titles that Debussy placed at the end so that performers learn each prelude without being influenced by the titles beforehand.
โก๏ธ Another distinctive feature is that the 12 preludes in the first book are written on two staves, while all 12 in the second book make use of three staves, making the dense textures easier to read.

We are pleased to announce a new award at the 8th Singapore Performersโ Festival 2024 for selected deserving pianist(s) identified for further development. He/she will be awarded a half scholarship to participate in FIMA (Tier 1 total worth โฌ800.00, approx. SGD1,170).
FIMA offers foreign young talents, particularly those in the Asia-Pacific region like Singapore, a variety of opportunities otherwise hard to obtain in oneโs early career. Participants will gain recognition through numerous solo performances and even get to perform with an orchestra, while working with renowned instructors and guest speakers via the masterclasses/seminars offered. They will also get the exclusive chance to work on Bechsteinโs extensive Vintage Keyboard Instrument collection. The intensive, bespoke program promotes the development of a well-rounded musician, which sets FIMA apart from many festivals.

Since the inception of the Performersโ Festival (PF), numerous budding string players have benefitted from Singaporeโs first and only award-winning archetier (bowmaker) Paul Gohโs hand-crafted bows. We continue to support and identify the most deserving Violin, Viola, and Cello performer* who will each be awarded a custom handcrafted bow (total value of USD$15,000).
(*Students of SMTA members or are members themselves are eligible.)
