International Student Network

ISN is an International Students’ Network that makes sure that SMK International students feel welcome in a completely new environment.

ISN organization is fully managed by SMK student volunteers (mentors). From the very first day of your arrival, you will be taken care of and will receive the support needed to have a fulfilling student life at SMK in Vilnius.

ISN organizes various activities and events for international students in order for them to get to know each other, to familiarize international SMK students with Lithuanian and other cultures. ISN community makes you feel like you have a second family here.

Dear applicants,
As you have been successfully working on your admission to SMK University of Applied Social Sciences, we would like to remind you to book an appointment at the embassy in advance in order to have enough time to receive a visa and come to Lithuania before the studies start. Visa process usually takes a long time, therefore, we encourage the applicants to apply for a visa as soon as possible. Below you will find the steps that you need to take in order to get the Lithuanian student D visa:
1. Gather all the necessary documents:
- a request to issue a national visa via https://visa.vrm.lt/epm/index.xhtml
- 1 colour photo (35x45 mm)
- international passport:
must be issued in the last ten years;
must contain at least two blank pages;
travel document validity term must be at least 3 months longer than the requested visa validity term
- document stating the sufficient means of subsistence and the funds for return: subsistence means the amount of 0.5 minimum monthly salary for one month. The minimum monthly salary is 607 Eur (as for 2022). Also, the amount for return to the country of origin or a foreign country to which you have the right to travel, the amount of funds – 1 minimum monthly salary (+607 Eur). In total, you should present around 4700 Eur in your bank account.
- health insurance document valid during the stay in Lithuania and in all the Schengen countries (the sum insured must be at least EUR 30,000)
- secondary education/high school certificates
- acceptance letter from the university
- confirmation of the living place in Lithuania and a mediation letter (will be issued after you book an appointment at the embassy and pay the tuition fee).
- other documents that might be required at the embassy
2. Send the proof of the appointment to admission@smk.lt in order to receive a mediation letter and confirmation of the living place
3. Check the embassy website that you are applying to and make sure that you have all the necessary documents. In case you need any assistance, contact us via admission@smk.lt.

SMK celebrates 30 Years of Meaning!

SMK College of Applied Sciences, a private higher education institution established in Klaipėda in 1994, has opened branches in Vilnius and Kaunas over the years, and this year celebrates its 30th anniversary! SMK presents a visual campaign for the 30th anniversary, marked by a totem inviting change.

This totem symbolises the change that SMK continually invites people to embrace. The colour scheme of the campaign also reflects SMK's identity, based on bright symbols and a clearly expressed position. This harmony of colours demonstrates the courage to act and speak!

SMK's 30th anniversary will be marked this year by various events and artistic works that, through their nature, forms, and features, will reveal what SMK is – a space to create and be a creator.
