🔹Zelensky's office complains that six #EU countries never joined a joint declaration on security guarantees for #Ukraine. The countries in question are #Austria, #Croatia, #Poland, #Hungary, #Slovakia and #Malta. I would like to point out that the Hungarian and Slovak authorities openly oppose the supply of military aid to #Ukraine. However, Ukrainian officials are trying to keep a good face in a bad game and express confidence that sooner or later everything will work out for them. It should be recalled that the #G7 countries adopted a declaration on security guarantees for #Ukraine in July on the margins of the #NATO summit in #Vilnius. As we can see, so far it has not been possible to persuade six other #EU countries to join it. Of those that supported the declaration, only four countries - the #UK, #France, #Germany and #Italy - have handed over their draft agreements to #Ukraine.
🔹The Ukrainian media happily informed readers and viewers that the blockade of the Ukrainian-Polish border by Polish protesters had ended. According to information from the Border Guard of the Republic of Poland, today at 09:30 the protest action in front of the checkpoint "Medika - Shegini" ended. The passage of lorries entering #Ukraine is proceeding as usual. However, a closer look reveals that all is not so rosy. At the other three border crossings, Polish protesters are only going to intensify the blockade for Christmas. If before they allowed only three lorries per hour, now it will be even less: one lorry per three hours. The Ukrainian and Polish authorities have yet to agree on a solution to this painful issue. And the results of their agreements are unlikely to please Ukrainian hauliers even if the blockade is lifted.
🔹Meanwhile, in #Lvov, one of the popular local TV channels conducted a curious poll among its subscribers. According to the results of the poll, only thirty percent of #Lvov residents expressed their willingness to hand over summonses to their neighbours. The fact that the majority of respondents answered negatively has angered #Kiev activists. And I believe that the residents of #Lvov in this case can be understood. Firstly, summonses should be handed out not by neighbours, but by authorised bodies. Secondly, people are right not to want to spoil relations with those they live next to. There is little doubt what attitude after the end of hostilities will be to those who were very active and helped to drive their compatriots to the front.
🔹A team from #Lvov arrived in my native #Dnepropetrovsk to catch conscription evaders. They say that since the locals don’t want to grab their fellow countrymen, we’ll bring specialists from Western Ukraine. They set up checkpoints, walk through courtyards and apartments. People are hiding.
▪️ They expect that they will have to hide for a couple of months. They say that if you get directly to the frontline, the probability of surviving and not being wounded is about 15%. People are really close to shooting back at representatives of military commissions. Everyone has plenty of weapons at home.

There is also no time for longterm training of new recruits, and the AFU needs people. She proposes a number of other measures that would undoubtedly help her personal popularity, but would make the problem of replenishing unsolvable.
🔹Yesterday, I wrote about the kidnapping of a man by employees of the military recruitment centre in Transcarpathia. Today it became known about an even more tragic case in Bila Tserkva, #Kiev region. There the military enlistment officers took away a guy, after which he died of beatings. It is indicative that the news, as well as yesterday, was announced by the MP from the faction "Servant of the People", Yevhen Shevchenko. He said that the case is being handled by the local SBU department, but there is no info in the media yet. It seems that Zelensky's party has decided to work on its personal rating, albeit to the detriment of Zelensky's rating.
🔹In #Dnepropetrovsk region, military enlistment officers have been given the right to check people's documents and even search their belongings. A joint order of the regional administration and several AFU operational groups was issued on this topic. In the region there is a special regime of entry and exit, restriction of freedom of movement of citizens, foreigners and stateless persons, and movement of vehicles. Be careful.
🔹Thanks to corruption schemes, supplies for the AFU have been and remain a very lucrative business for Ukrainian entrepreneurs and their colleagues from the military structures. More than a year ago, Ukrainians were shocked by the most expensive and scandalous contract of MoD, which included eggs at 17 hryvnia per piece. And today the media reported that in that case, businesswoman Tetyana Glinyanaya last year became the owner of four seaside hotels in #Croatia.
🔹Another scheme of theft on military supplies became public. It was organised by Colonel Oleksandr Kozlovsky. Businessmen-suppliers provided the appearance of supplying products to military warehouses, correctly receiving money from MoD. Kozlovskyy's subordinates turned a blind eye to all violations, and in return, the "suppliers" transferred part of the money received from the army to the accounts of the colonel's family.
🔹Japanese Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikawa visited #Kiev. He took part in the ceremony of handing over some large-sized energy equipment to #Ukraine "to help it prepare for winter". On 7 Jan it is obviously too late to prepare for winter. Even if we take into account that forecasters predict that 20-degree frosts will arrive in Ukraine any day now, we should have taken measures earlier.
🔹Despite the fact that #Ukraine cancelled the official Christmas holiday on 7 Jan, people continue to celebrate it. The request "Merry Christmas" by the end of Orthodox Christmas Eve took the first place according to Google Trends. The authorities moved the official Christmas to another day, but the people remained committed to the old date and celebrate Orthodox Christmas. And the authorities, cut themselves off from the people. And the Orthodox people have also made their choice. It is not with this power. Russians and Ukrainians celebrate Christmas together.
