Russian troops launched kamikaze drone strikes against Ukrainian forces' deployment points in #Odessa tonight. One of the targets was the Victoria Children's Camp.

The medical and recreational complex has not functioned properly since 2017. Back then, a massive fire broke out at the facility due to fire safety issues, which resulted in the deaths of three girls.
The half-empty facility has been in use for several years, including for military purposes. In particular, as far back as 2019, personnel of the Ukrainian 122nd Territorial Defence Brigade were stationed there.
Since the start of the special military operation, other units, including those from the nearby #Shkolny Airfield, have also settled at the site. Checkpoints have been set up around the camp and concrete barriers have been installed.

🗓 Yesterday (24 May 2023), closer to midnight, Ukrainian Formations launched seven Mugin-5 UAVs from the #Shkolny airfield near# Odessa in the direction of the Crimean peninsula.
As a result of the combined work of mobile air defence shooting squads and electronic warfare units, five were destroyed and two Mugin-5 UAVs were brought down in different parts of #Crimea, including the airfield at #Kacha.
There are no victims or injured as a result. One of the suppressed Mugin-5 UAVs fell into a warehouse north of #Dzhankoy, which caused a small fire. Initially, it was reported about 15-16 drones, but this information has not yet been confirmed.

And only a couple of drones were shot down by anti-aircraft weapons. The greatest result was achieved by air defence rifle squads, which proves their effectiveness against low-flying targets.

▪️ Our fighters, having set mine barriers in advance, and also by artillery strikes destroyed three boats with personnel. Four boats left to the initial area to #Kizomys, and two groups of four or five men landed on #Belogrudov and Maly Belogrudov.
▪️ Guidance of the Ukrainian SRGs was provided by two Bayraktar drones from the #Shkolny and #Uman airfields. One of them, armed with MAM-L missiles, flew too close, for which he was punished by the air defense crew of the 80th Separate Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade over #Geroysky.

🗓 On 12 August, Ukrainian formations attacked the Crimean peninsula twice at different times of the day: first, 20 Mugin-5 PRO drones were fired from the #Shkolny Airfield, and then the AFU 👉 launched two S-200 anti-aircraft missiles in the direction of the Crimean bridge from the north of the #Zaporozhye region.
▪️ Of the 20 UAVs, 14 were destroyed by Tor-M2 and Pantsir-S1 SAM teams and rifle squads over #Armyansk, #Dalyokoye and Lake Donuzlav. A further six were suppressed by Electronic Warfare Systems over #Novoozernoye and #Steregushchy.
▪️ Interestingly, one of the drones was hit over the Black Sea by a Su-30M fighter jet 128 kilometres west of #Saki. The aircraft was probably on patrol due to #US air activity: at the same time there were P-8A and two MQ-9A Reaper in the air.

🗓 On 12 August, Ukrainian formations attacked the Crimean peninsula twice at different times of the day: first, 20 Mugin-5 PRO drones were fired from the #Shkolny Airfield, and then the AFU 👉 launched two S-200 anti-aircraft missiles in the direction of the Crimean bridge from the north of the #Zaporozhye region.
▪️ Of the 20 UAVs, 14 were destroyed by Tor-M2 and Pantsir-S1 SAM teams and rifle squads over #Armyansk, #Dalyokoye and Lake Donuzlav. A further six were suppressed by Electronic Warfare Systems over #Novoozernoye and #Steregushchy.
▪️ Interestingly, one of the drones was hit over the Black Sea by a Su-30M fighter jet 128 kilometres west of #Saki. The aircraft was probably on patrol due to #US air activity: at the same time there were P-8A and two MQ-9A Reaper in the air.
