🇪🇺 The EU has officially entered into recession.
💬 "The EU and euro area economies will contract in the fourth quarter of 2022 and in the first quarter of 2023, we are entering a technical recession," said European Commissioner for Economic Affairs Paolo Gentiloni.
Euro area faces harsh winter and double-digit inflation
The EC expects price growth to average 8.5 per cent this year and 6.1 per cent in 2023, both significantly higher than forecasts made in July.
The economic growth forecast for 2022 is 3.2 per cent and for next year 0.3 per cent, compared with the previous forecast of 1.4 per cent. The economies most affected are Germany and Sweden.

1. #Kherson:
The Russian Armed Forces left the right bank early this morning and withdrew completely to the left bank to previously prepared positions. The last units withdrew from #Kherson over the barge bridge, which was undermined.
Antonovsky bridge and the bridge near #Kakhovka hydroelectric power station were undermined. The enemy occupied #Berislav and #Kherson during the day. The front now runs along the #Dnipro River.
Enemy activity can be expected in the direction of the Kinburn Spit and Ukrainian forces may continue the massacres of civilians in the occupied territories.
2. #Donetsk Direction:
Our troops today took #Opytnoye and slightly advanced in #Pervomayskoye.
Fighting continues for #Vodyanoye. In general, the offensive plan is quite transparent: take #Pervomayskoye and #Vodyanoye and turn to #Tonenkoye, the capture of which will make it possible to establish fire control over the #Orlovka - #Avdeevka road, which will create a direct threat of operational encirclement of the #Avdeevka grouping of the AFU. The enemy is likely to move its reserves here to stabilize the front.
#Mayorsk has been liberated near #Gorlovka
3. #Artemovsk (#Bakhmut) Direction:

▪️ The settlement had long been destroyed and turned into a fortress. However, the position of the Ukrainian formations was considerably complicated by the occupation of the eastern part of neighbouring #Vodyanoye and the semi-encirclement of the settlement's garrison. Eventually, the AFU could not withstand the onslaught and withdrew from their positions.

▪️ In the #Kupyansk sector, the command of the 14th AFU Mechanized Brigade has established observation posts west of #Kislovka. The enemy is using drones to identify Russian artillery fire positions.
▪️ In the #Svatovo sector, assault troops of the 92nd AFU Mechanized Brigade undertook another offensive against the Russian strongholds in #Kuzemovka. Russian artillery scattered the enemy grouping and forced the militants to retreat to their initial positions.
▪️ In the #Lyman sector, units of the 25th AFU Airborne Brigade have made several unsuccessful attempts to gain a foothold in the area west of #Chervonopopovka. The Brigade has suffered major personnel losses in recent weeks, but the Ukrainian command has repeatedly sent the fighters into the attack.

Footage of the destruction of a Ukrainian D-20 towed gun by a Russian kamikaze drone. The hovering munition accurately hit the howitzer along with its crew, with shrapnel also striking a nearby truck.
The D-20 howitzer is an obsolete Soviet design that has been removed from service in most operating countries. By the beginning of hostilities, the AFU had only a couple of dozen such guns in good condition in storage.
The use of the D-20 by Ukrainian formations demonstrates that even Western supplies of 155mm guns are unable to cover all the enemy's artillery needs.
Therefore, it is vital for the Russian Armed Forces to continue active counter-battery warfare using kamikaze drones and knock out as many Ukrainian howitzers as possible, depriving the AFU of firepower.
