⚡️🇷🇺🇺🇦⚔️ #Chronicle of the Special Military Operation for 17-18 August 2024⚡️
🔹Russian Troops, over the day, hit a position area of the Patriot air defence system in the area of #Lyubimovka in the #Dnepropetrovsk region, and also destroyed a M270 MLRS in the #Sumy region. In turn, Ukrainian formations once again attacked #Crimea and an oil depot in the #Rostov region.
🔹In the #Kursk region, fighting continued in several areas. AFU units carry out attacks and maintain control of #Sudzha, where they took several local residents hostage.
🔹In the #Liman sector, Russian troops took control of most of #Makeyevka. Positions on the opposite bank of the Zherebets River remain under the control of Ukrainian formations.
🔹In the #Toretsk sector, RFAF units occupied most of #Novgorodskoye (#NyuYork). At the same time, the offensive continues from #Artemovo in the direction of #Nelepovka.
🔹On the North #Avdeyevka front, Russian troops have broken through the second line of defence and are fighting on the approaches to #Selidovo, #Novogrodovka and #Grodovka. Also, Russian stormtroopers advanced in the area of the Karlovskoye Reservoir.

🔴 On the #Zaporozhye Front, positional fighting continues, and with it, information about the concentration of AFU forces and means in this direction continues to be received. (Fig. 1)
🔴 On the #Donetsk Front, heavy fighting continues in #Konstantinovka.
🟡 In #Krasnogorovka, the RFAF continue to drive the Ukrainian garrison out of the town. In #Karlovka, fighting also continues, with no significant changes.
🟡 In #Grodovka, there are advances of Russian troops. The RFAF are also advancing towards #Kamyshevka, #Marinovka and #Novogrodovka.
🟡 #NyuYork settlement was liberated. There are active offensive operations of the RFAF in #Dzerzhinsk. (Fig. 2)
🔴 On the #Kharkov Front, no significant changes. Fighting continues in #Volchansk and in the area of #Glubokoye. (Fig. 3)
🔴 In the #Kursk Region, there are no significant changes on the ground. However, according to reports from the field, in some areas the RFAF are methodically knocking the AFU out of the occupied territories. This is most likely due to the fact that small groups were moving deep into the territory and did not have enough time and personnel to consolidate their positions.

⚡️🇷🇺🇺🇦⚔️ Situation in Key Settlements in the #Avdeyevka Direction at the Beginning of 20 August 2024⚡️
🔴 In #Krasnogorovka - we continue to put pressure on the enemy in small groups in several areas, but so far without visible success.
🔴 In #Karlovka - we have completely occupied the northern part of the village and are already firing artillery from there, creating a direct threat to the enemy in the rest of the village beyond the reservoir.
🔴 #Zavetnoye - we slowly occupy it and create an encirclement around #Kamyshevka, from where the enemy is pulled back to #Ptichye.
🔴 In #Marinovka and #Novogrodovka - the Ukrops are throwing additional artillery in, but they did not have time to dig in properly.
🔴 In #KrutoyYar and #KrasnyYar - the enemy also threw additional forces in and also did not have time to fully dig in.
🔴 In #Grodovka - we methodically demolish the enemy's firing positions house by house and approach the centre of the village. The opponent simply has no chance.
📌 The Situation in the #Avdeyevka direction at the moment indicates the lack of strength of the enemy to patch holes in sagging defences, and the lack of strength we have in order to make a powerful leap forward, breaking through the positions of a weakened enemy and entering the operational space.

🎯During the night, the enemy's rear regions were hit with a combined strike by a Geranium UAV and rocket weapons. Explosions were reported in #Kiev, #Sumy, #Ternopil and #Khmelnitsky regions, in #Pavlograd in #Dnepropetrovsk region and in the AFU-occupied part of the #DPR (#Pokrovsk).
🔹In the #Kursk region, heavy fighting continues. The AFU is trying to expand their zone of control, and the enemy's destruction of bridges over the Seim River is designed to complicate the logistics of our troops and make it difficult to evacuate the local population. Enemy channels have already published satellite images of the pontoon crossings set up by our troops.
💥In the #Belgorod region, four civilians were wounded during the day as a result of AFU drone strikes and artillery shelling.
🔹In the #Toretsk (#Dzerzhinsk) agglomeration, on the western outskirts of #Zaliznoye (Artemovo) the RFAF occupied the waste heap of the Artem Mine, there is an advance near #NyuYork (#Novgorodskoye), our troops are making their way towards #Nelepovka. In the #DPR a civilian was killed and 13 wounded, including girls born in 2007 and 2008.
🔹In the #Pokrovsk direction,🎬👇 there is fighting for #Grodovka, near #Zavetnoye and #Kamyshevka. East of the Volchya River our troops advanced 1.5 km with a front up to 3.5 km. There is also an advance from #Nikolayevka south of #Marinovka, the enemy notes an increase in the number of strikes by Russian aerial bombs. The penetration into the enemy defence along the front is up to 12 km and creates conditions for covering the enemy units to the south towards the Karlovskoye Reservoir. In this regard, the AFU began withdrawal of troops from the #Ptichye settlement.
🔹In the #SouthDonetsk direction, the RFAF have advanced in recent days in the direction of the #Ugledar-#Konstantinovka Motorway. Our troops continue to advance on the northern outskirts of #Krasnogorovka.
🔹On the #Zaporozhye front, the enemy is pulling reserves to the #Orekhov and #Kamenskoye directions. Zelensky's recent statements about the ZNPP may be an informational preparation for the AFU's rush to this strategic facility.
🔹In the #Kherson direction, our forces continue their combat work on the islands in the Dnieper floodplain, with mutual artillery fire and drone strikes.

🇷🇺 The RFAF, following the recent 👉 successes, advanced in #Grodovka.
🟡 To the southwest, the Russians entered the boundaries of #KrasnyYar.
🟡 Further south, they captured the 👉 remaining part of #Nikolayevka and advanced at the E-50 Motorway to the edge of #Marinovka.
🔵 In the #Avdeyevka Direction, the front has shifted significantly to the west. #Pokrovsk (#Krasnoarmeysk) is located in the far northwest. To the southwest is #Selidovo, east of which out of the map is #Avdeyevka. The #Avdeyevka Direction has been renamed to #Pokrovsk Direction by some, as can also be seen on the map to the right on top. #Pokrovsk is also called #Krasnoarmeysk.

🔹At the same time, liquidation of the consequences of an attack by Ukrainian drones on the Rosrezerv Oil Storage Facility in #Proletarsk, #Rostov region, continues. About 600 employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations are on the scene. The fire is localised on the territory of the oil depot.
🔹In the #Kursk region, Ukrainian formations attack in the direction of #RusskayaKonopelka and #Spalnoye. The configuration of the front in the area of #MalayaLoknya has been clarified, and a column of AFU armoured vehicles has been destroyed in #Korenevo.
🔹In the #Toretsk sector, the RFAF liberated #Novgorodskoye (the former #NyuYork), attacking #Nelepovka from both sides. In #Kirovo, Russian troops advanced 800 m to the northwestern outskirts of the village.
