🇮🇱⚔🇵🇸Israel-Gaza Conflict: May 14-15 (Recap)

1️⃣ More than 450,000 Palestinians have now fled Gaza’s southern Rafah city with another 100,000 evacuating the north as Israel’s military steps up ground incursions.

2️⃣ The UN says it provided Israel with the coordinates of a convoy that was attacked, killing the first international aid worker, an Indian colonel, since the war began.

3️⃣ Israeli jets bomb the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, killing dozens of Palestinians including children. In the north, Israeli tanks, bulldozers and armoured vehicles surround evacuation zones and shelters in Jabalia.

4️⃣ Mustafa al-Gazzar, 81, recalls his family’s months-long flight from their village in what is now central Israel to the southern city of Rafah when he was 5 years old. At one point, they were bombed from the air. At another, they dug holes under a tree to sleep in for warmth. Al-Gazzar, now a great-grandfather, was forced to flee again over the weekend, this time to a tent in Muwasi, a barren coastal area where some 450,000 Palestinians live in a squalid camp. He says the conditions are worse than in 1948.

“My hope in 1948 was to return, but my hope today is to survive,” he said. “I live in such fear,” he added, breaking into tears. “I cannot provide for my children and grandchildren.”

5️⃣ Gaza aid pier to be operational in coming days: Pentagon.

6️⃣ US State Department says the 50 aid trucks that entered the besieged coastal enclave on Sunday are “not nearly enough” and it believes more can be done to help US citizens leave the Strip.

7️⃣ Cuba foreign minister slams Israel’s Rafah invasion. Bruno Rodriguez says Israel’s incursion into the southern Gaza area “increases acts of genocide against the Palestinian people”.

At least 35,173 people including more than 15,000 children, have been killed and over 79,061 injured in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7. The death toll from the October 7 attack in Israel stands at 1,139.

🔹In the #Kharkov direction, Ukrainian units have withdrawn "to more favourable positions" in the districts of #Lukyantsev and #Volchansk, the enemy General Staff has said. In #Volchansk, the RFAF have advanced into the centre of the town and heavy fighting is taking place. The enemy is pulling in reserves of infantry and armoured vehicles, setting up crossings in the near rear to restore logistics after attacks by the RFAF on bridges. The Russian Army controls the northern part of the town. Members of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry's GUR, including members of the barrier troops, are taken prisoner. The villages of #Bugrovatka and #Lukyantsy have been liberated, our troops are fighting near the villages of #Staritsa and #Izbitskoye. The Russian Army is attacking in the direction of #Liptsy from #Glubokoye and #Lukyantsy.

🔹In the #Sumy direction, the AFU expects the RFAF to launch offensive actions from the territory of the #Kursk region. The Ukrainian authorities announced the evacuation of the population from the towns of #Belopolye and #Vorozhba. TCCs are taking out archives. 💥The #Volgograd region reported an enemy UAV attack, as a result of which two wagons with fuel caught fire and one tanker exploded. A total of 9 train wagons derailed.

🎬#Kharkov direction, Северный Ветер reports: the assistant machine gunner of the BARRIER DETACHMENT of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine was captured. Matlay Alexander Vasilievic, soldier, his task was to shoot at his own people. He surrendered.
