🔹#Chronicle of the Battle for #Ugledar
▪️ On 23-24 January, fighters from the 155th Pacific Fleet Brigade and the 7th OBTF #Kaskad swooped through the AFU defence and occupied the dacha areas west of #Nikolskoye. The general plan was for several formations to advance simultaneously with a broad front: the plan was to "take #Ugledar in a pincer". But the Marines and #Kaskad, unfortunately, were the only ones who succeeded in breaking through the fighting lines.
Taking advantage of the effect of unexpectedness, the RF Armed Forces took the enemy by surprise: during intense fighting, they advanced towards the populated area, driving out units of the AFU's 68th Separate Jager Infantry Brigade and 72nd Mechanized Brigade towards #Ugledar and the South Donbass mine.
▪️ On 25 January, joint efforts by Marines and Kaskadians reached dacha areas southeast of #Ugledar, entrenching themselves in private homes. Disorganisation in the ranks of the AFU allowed for entrenchment. The first reports emerged of Russian units entering the town itself.
Throughout the day, assault units of the AFU's 72nd Mechanized Brigade tried unsuccessfully to counterattack from #Ugledar and the mine area. Nevertheless, the initial objective of the Russian troops to cut off the supply to #Ugledar was not achieved. The AFU managed to hold the line.
▪️ On 25-26 January, the Russian fighters advanced to the outskirts of the dachas. Separate assault units carried out raids on the outskirts of #Ugledar itself near the pumping station. Concurrently, an advance began from the direction of #Pavlovka towards the southwestern outskirts of #Ugledar.
However, the Ukrainian command had already begun to reinforce the defensive grouping in the town, artillery firing positions had been moved to a safe distance, and mortar crews were ceaselessly mining the approaches. In the meantime, the motorized rifle units of the RF Armed Forces were still unable to reach their planned positions.
▪️ By 27 January, the AFU was able to build a dense defence in #Ugledar. At least three companies were operating at 1km. The supply along the #Ugledar - #Konstantinovka - #Maryinka route was not cut off either physically or by fire. Ukrainian reinforcements were deployed at the main hubs.
▪️ The Marines, supported by artillery and aviation, continued fighting at the dachas near #Ugledar despite the complicated situation. The transfer of additional units of the AFU from the #Soledar direction began.
With each passing day, Ukrainian formations were pulling in more and more reserves to hold this important strategic location. Remote mining of streets and approaches continued - almost all the fields were covered in mines even before the offensive, and during the week of fighting the AFU installed over a hundred more barriers.
Marines of the 35th Naval Brigade and paratroopers of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces' 80th Separate Air Assault Brigade arrived in #Ugledar to replace the 72nd Brigade, which had suffered heavy losses, and a battalion and tactical group was moved to #Bogatyr to create an operational reserve. Later, the 21st Battalion of the 56th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade, equipped with UAVs and night vision devices, was noted, and a few days ago a BTGr of the 53rd Mechanized Brigade was spotted near #Ugledar. ATGM crews were placed in multi-storey buildings and long-range artillery was firing at the Russian positions.

🔹 Fierce fighting continues near #Ugledar in a dacha quarter southeast of the town. Marines of the 155th Brigade of the Pacific Fleet have slightly improved the situation, knocking out units of the 72nd Mechanized Brigade from several houses.
▪️ However, the situation remains unstable. The AFU has almost completely mined the approaches to #Ugledar and the settlement itself, protecting itself from an attack on the outskirts. To compensate for the losses, reinforcements have been deployed to the area of operations.
▪️ Furthermore, two tanks from the 1st Battalion of the 1st Tank Brigade arrived in #Ugledar. With the support of engineering forces of the 72nd Mechanized Brigade they are setting up fire positions for heavy armored vehicles.
❗️ Over the past few days at least three columns with personnel, armament and equipment have arrived from the #Liman sector to the area of #Mirnograd (#Dimitrova) and #Pokrovsk (#Krasnoarmeysk), probably from the 80th Separate Air Assault Brigade.
Earlier we 👉 noted that part of the units departed in the direction of #Bakhmut to hold the Chasov Yar - #Krasnoye line, while the other part of one BTGr was 👉 transferred to #Bogatyr to reinforce the grouping near #Ugledar.
📌 Now the combat alignment and organization of communication between the assault groups of the 72nd Mechanized Brigade, 80th Separate Air Assault Brigade and 18th Battalion of the 35th Marines Brigade is underway. ▪️ Composite assault detachments of the AFU's 53rd and 72nd Mechanized Brigades as well as the 35th Separate Marines Brigade, supported by self-propelled artillery from #Yelizavetovka and #Trudovoye, have broken through to a dacha settlement west of #Nikolskoye. Fighting is now taking place between #Pavlovka and #Nikolskoye. Copters are being actively used in the air.
▪️ At the moment Ukrainian formations are trying to consolidate in the reoccupied areas and are waiting for Russian reinforcements in #Nikolskoye and the resumption of the offensive in the #Ugledar area. Additional personnel from an unidentified unit were transferred to the AFU grouping reserve in #Bogatyr.
▪️ Furthermore, at least one M142 HIMARS MLRS crew has arrived in #Bogatyr with high-precision, long-range (up to 150 km) GLSDB guided munitions.

🔹#Avdeyevka Sector:
▪️ Over the past few days, the RF Armed Forces have expanded their area of control near #Novobakhmutovka, advancing towards #Novokalinovo and #Aleksandropol.
▪️ To the south, Russian units gained control of an important hill east of #Krasnogorovka, improving the tactical position ahead of an assault on AFU positions in the village. The liberation of #Krasnogorovka will enable the expansion of the bridgehead north of the Avdiivka fortification.
▪️ Concurrently, ammunition was supplied to the #Avdeyevka itself and infantry units rotated and additional firing points for large-calibre machine guns have been set up.
▪️ South of #Avdeyevka, positional battles continue in #Pervomayskoye. For the moment, the advance has stalled - both sides are holding previously occupied lines without going on the offensive.
🔹#Maryinka Sector:
▪️ Russian troops have knocked out the paratroopers of Ukrainian Air Assault Forces' 79th Separate Airmobile Brigade from Blagodatnaya and Heroes of Chernobyl Streets, completely gaining a foothold on the southern outskirts of the town near Druzhba Avenue. Partially from #Maryinka and #Georgiyevka, the paratroopers of the 79th Brigade have been withdrawn to recover.

🔹#Avdeyevka Sector:
▪️ Over the past few days, the RF Armed Forces have expanded their area of control near #Novobakhmutovka, advancing towards #Novokalinovo and #Aleksandropol.
▪️ To the south, Russian units gained control of an important hill east of #Krasnogorovka, improving the tactical position ahead of an assault on AFU positions in the village. The liberation of #Krasnogorovka will enable the expansion of the bridgehead north of the Avdiivka fortification.
▪️ Concurrently, ammunition was supplied to the #Avdeyevka itself and infantry units rotated and additional firing points for large-calibre machine guns have been set up.
▪️ South of #Avdeyevka, positional battles continue in #Pervomayskoye. For the moment, the advance has stalled - both sides are holding previously occupied lines without going on the offensive.
🔹#Maryinka Sector:
▪️ Russian troops have knocked out the paratroopers of Ukrainian Air Assault Forces' 79th Separate Airmobile Brigade from Blagodatnaya and Heroes of Chernobyl Streets, completely gaining a foothold on the southern outskirts of the town near Druzhba Avenue. Partially from #Maryinka and #Georgiyevka, the paratroopers of the 79th Brigade have been withdrawn to recover.
▪️ To the southwest, the AFU have reinforced their positions in #Pobeda. Three Kozak armoured vehicles with militants have been moved to the village, machine gun crews have been deployed on the heights, and the approaches to the strongholds are controlled from copters.
▪️ In the second echelon in #Galitsinovka and #Shevchenko the tank groups of the AFU's 59th Motorized Infantry Brigade and 1st Separate Tank Brigade have been deployed. Units of the 59th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade are in reserve in #Galitsinovka in case the frontline positions are breached.
🔹#Ugledar Section:
▪️ Positional fighting continues. After a breakthrough to #Nikolskoye dachas, the forces of the AFU's 72nd Mechanized Brigade turned to defence, and the Russian marines of the 155th Brigade of the Pacific Fleet are fighting in the dachas near #Ugledar.
▪️ In #Ugledar, additional anti-tank systems positions of the 72nd Mechanized Brigade have been equipped, and reserves of the AFU's 68th Separate Jager Infantry Brigade have been deployed to #Bogoyavlenka in case of a breach of the defenses. In addition, Ukrainian ZU-23 mobile air defence units based on a Mitsubishi L200 are operating at the #Bogoyavlenka - #Ugledar line.

🔹North of #Avdeyevka, servicemen of the 132nd Separate Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade of the RF Armed Forces (formerly 3rd Gorlovka Brigade of the DPR PM) continued their local advance from #Novobakhmutovka, expanding the area around the settlement.
▪️ During the fighting, the Russian fighters managed to slightly advance towards #Novokalinovo and #Keramik, where the forces of the 68th and 69th Rifle Battalions of the AFU Territorial Defence are holding their defenses.
▪️ Additional units of the 59th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade from #Bogatyr and 110th Mechanized Brigade from #Pokrovsk are currently being redeployed to the #Avdeyevka sector. Clashes continue near the H20 road and the railway line near #Novokalinovo.
🔹To the South(west), there are positional battles north of #Vodyanoye. Russian troops managed to dislodge units of the 53rd Mechanized Brigade from their stronghold. Ukrainian artillerymen are firing indiscriminately into areas where the RF Armed Forces are advancing.
▪️ To reinforce the grouping of troops near #Avdeyevka, marines from the 35th Marine Brigade of the Ukrainian Navy are expected to arrive in the area of #Orlovka and #Ocheretino.

▪️ Another assault group on light armoured vehicles, up to a platoon in number, from the 3rd Battalion of the AFU's 68th Separate Jager Infantry Brigade attacked the Russian positions near #Pavlovka.
▪️ Prior to this, M777 howitzer crews conducted artillery preparations and reconnaissance UAVs and copters were active in the air, delivered in large numbers to the Donetsk direction as part of separate UAV companies.
📌 Both Enemy Attacks were repelled by the combined efforts of infantry units and army aviation. The forces of the AFU's 68th Separate Jager Infantry Brigade and 72nd Mechanized Brigades withdrew to their initial positions.
Now the situation is stable. The 68th Brigade is being re-staffed near #Novoukrainka. A large number of people and equipment are concentrated in #Bogatyr to the northwest of #Ugledar at the range.
It is currently unclear what kind of unit has arrived in #Bogatyr. The 23rd Mechanized Brigade has recently completed its training in #Novomoskovsk, and the Brigade itself is scheduled to be deployed to either the #Zaporozhye or #Donetsk directions.

▪️ The RF Armed Forces shot down 5 Ukrainian aircraft, 1 Su-27, 2MiG-29 and 2 Su-25 - over the day, MoD said;
