🔹#Kherson Direction on #SouthFront:

▪️ In the vicinity of the village of #Kindiyka north of #Alyoshki, the enemy is conducting sabotage and reconnaissance activities, attempting 👉 to divert and mislead the Russian military before a possible counterattack.

▪️ Artillery duels continue along the entire line of contact. Russian forces hit enemy concentrations in #Kherson, #Dudchany and #Zmiyevka.

▪️ Due to problems with auctions with European operators by energy company Ukrenergo, #Ukraine has suspended electricity exports to #Slovakia and will not be able to send electricity to #Hungary.
➖ The company said that the problem arose due to the absence of the necessary regulatory framework, which was denied by the Ukrainian authorities.
➖ Experts believe that Ukrenergo is unwilling to share revenues with European operators according to #EU regulations.

⭐️ As predicted, the party of former Prime Minister Robert Fitzo, labelled by European media as "Communist, Populist and Putinist", came first.

🔹 Fitzo is in favour of lifting or seriously easing the sanctions regime against #Russia, reducing military support for #Kiev and preventing it from joining #NATO. That's lip service.

🔹 In practice, this news should not be overestimated. And there are already such attempts - Fitzo's victory is presented almost as the collapse of the entire Western block.

1️⃣ Firstly, any such rhetoric is, first of all, part of the election campaign, the desire to win the votes of those who are tired of endless Ukraine on the foreign policy agenda. Only then do numerous shadow agreements, economic factors and mechanisms come into play that form the contour of external control.

2️⃣ Secondly, Fitzo will have to form a broad coalition government anyway, and the position on #Ukraine will be a convenient bargaining tool in this case. So in all likelihood the declarations will remain declarations.

⚡️🇷🇺🇺🇦🔎 What Results the AFU Achieved in Five Months of Offensive⚡️

⚔️Active combat operations began on 4 June. At the moment, the AFU offensive has not stopped, but it is clear that it is losing momentum and is being maintained more to create visibility than to achieve real goals.

🔹What was the Offensive Plan?

▪️Initially, the AFU command planned to launch two dissecting strikes and reach two major cities, #Melitopol (and further to #Berdyansk) and #Mariupol on the coast of the Azov Sea.

▪️It was assumed that in the course of the offensive the territory with a total area of about 23,000 km2 would be captured, and in a number of directions, including the Crimean and Donetsk ones, the threat of encirclement of Russian troops would be created.

▪️In reality, a competently constructed line of defence and redesigned fire tactics prevented the AFU from succeeding.

▪️At the moment, the total area of territory in which the AFU has managed to advance is about 140 km2 in the #Zaporozhye direction and 116 km2 in the #SouthDonetsk direction, which is almost 90 times less than it was supposed to occupy during the offensive.

🔹What other Problems does the AFU have?

▪️In addition to problems with the failure to fulfil the offensive's main objectives, there are others. On 4 September, former Ukrainian Defence Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said that each day of combat operations costs Ukraine $100 million.

▪️Thus, 153 days (five months) of the offensive cost Kiev $15.3bn, but this money did not bring results. It is noteworthy that almost immediately the previously created myth about the superiority of the AFU, NATO tactics and technical superiority collapsed. Most of the expectations from the nature of the AFU actions simply did not realise.

▪️If the offensive had been successful, a number of #EU countries and the US would most likely have continued or increased the supply of military equipment. Now that almost all available conventional weapons options,- from small drones to man-portable air defence systems, have been tried, many have lost enthusiasm to continue deliveries.

▪️In addition, favourable timing has been lost. In the winter of 2022 and spring of 2023, much expectation was placed on warm season warfare. It was thought that summer and warm weather would favour the AFU offensive, but this did not happen.

🔹What losses did the AFU suffer?

▪️On 30 October, Russian Defence Minister Sergey Shoygu said that the AFU had lost more than 90,000 people killed and wounded during the offensive. These are 36 brigades of 2.5 thousand men each. No other army in the world has suffered such losses since World War II. The fleet of foreign equipment supplied to the AFU has been largely confused. The experience of using American M2 Bradley BMPs, M113/YPR-765 and M1126 Stryker APCs, Leopard 2A4/A5 (Strv 122)/A6 and Challenger 2 tanks, PzH-2000, M109 and AS-90 UASs has shown that Western combat vehicles cannot fundamentally change the situation on the battlefield, while their destruction and damage have an immediate and negative impact on the situation at the front.

🔹What's the Result?

▪️In addition, the failure of the AFU offensive has caused a split in the once united camp of #Ukraine's supporters. In the US, congressmen are asking questions about the prospects for aid to Kiev, while in #Europe some countries have already suspended or stopped military supplies to #Ukraine, among them #Slovakia and the main military donor in #Europe, #Poland.

▪️Also, five months of intense fighting have depleted the stockpiles of arms and ammunition not only in #Ukraine, but also in the #EU, from where they were forcibly transferred in the spring of 2023. The EU will be able to replenish reserves to the level of 2022 not earlier than 2025. In the short term, therefore, one cannot count on increased supplies, and without them, the prospects for any offensive actions in 2024 look very illusory.

🔹Zelensky's office complains that six #EU countries never joined a joint declaration on security guarantees for #Ukraine. The countries in question are #Austria, #Croatia, #Poland, #Hungary, #Slovakia and #Malta. I would like to point out that the Hungarian and Slovak authorities openly oppose the supply of military aid to #Ukraine. However, Ukrainian officials are trying to keep a good face in a bad game and express confidence that sooner or later everything will work out for them. It should be recalled that the #G7 countries adopted a declaration on security guarantees for #Ukraine in July on the margins of the #NATO summit in #Vilnius. As we can see, so far it has not been possible to persuade six other #EU countries to join it. Of those that supported the declaration, only four countries - the #UK, #France, #Germany and #Italy - have handed over their draft agreements to #Ukraine.

🔹The Ukrainian media happily informed readers and viewers that the blockade of the Ukrainian-Polish border by Polish protesters had ended. According to information from the Border Guard of the Republic of Poland, today at 09:30 the protest action in front of the checkpoint "Medika - Shegini" ended. The passage of lorries entering #Ukraine is proceeding as usual. However, a closer look reveals that all is not so rosy. At the other three border crossings, Polish protesters are only going to intensify the blockade for Christmas. If before they allowed only three lorries per hour, now it will be even less: one lorry per three hours. The Ukrainian and Polish authorities have yet to agree on a solution to this painful issue. And the results of their agreements are unlikely to please Ukrainian hauliers even if the blockade is lifted.

🔹Meanwhile, in #Lvov, one of the popular local TV channels conducted a curious poll among its subscribers. According to the results of the poll, only thirty percent of #Lvov residents expressed their willingness to hand over summonses to their neighbours. The fact that the majority of respondents answered negatively has angered #Kiev activists. And I believe that the residents of #Lvov in this case can be understood. Firstly, summonses should be handed out not by neighbours, but by authorised bodies. Secondly, people are right not to want to spoil relations with those they live next to. There is little doubt what attitude after the end of hostilities will be to those who were very active and helped to drive their compatriots to the front.

🔹A team from #Lvov arrived in my native #Dnepropetrovsk to catch conscription evaders. They say that since the locals don’t want to grab their fellow countrymen, we’ll bring specialists from Western Ukraine. They set up checkpoints, walk through courtyards and apartments. People are hiding.
▪️ They expect that they will have to hide for a couple of months. They say that if you get directly to the frontline, the probability of surviving and not being wounded is about 15%. People are really close to shooting back at representatives of military commissions. Everyone has plenty of weapons at home.

🔹The mobilisation bill has scandalously failed. We will see what will happen to it next. In the meantime, Arahamiya said that, following a meeting of faction leaders with the speaker, the document is returned to the initiator, i.e. the government. In reality, there is no such procedure in the regulations. The bill can be returned only by a vote of the Rada. Or the government can withdraw it itself. MPs are shocked. MP Zaliznyak said that this is the worst organisation of the bill process in the last ten years. And MP Goncharenko was even more categorical. He said that he had never seen such a mess with the adoption of the bill. He characterised the situation as a circus.

🔹Meanwhile, Maryana Bezuglaya, who has not yet been fired from the post of deputy chairman of the Committee on Defence, announced her resignation from the party "Servant of the People". She accused her colleagues of "stabbing her in the back". According to her, she does not need a post in the committee. But she is not going to leave it until the Rada votes. At the same time, of course, she remains loyal to Zelensky and remains an MP. In a burst of frankness she gave a gloomy but, as I think, accurate forecast, that "the AFU will turn into a conveyor belt for the disposal of citizens to maintain the status quo of the front."

🔹Polish Sejm deputy Kowal has thought about how to send conscripted refugees from #Poland to the AFU. According to the law, they cannot be deported. Therefore, he urges to create such unbearable conditions that they themselves would want to leave. For example, not to issue work permits, not to extend the period of stay in the country, not to pay benefits. It is clear that a person without a job, without money and in an illegal situation will not last long. In essence, he is offering his country to shoot itself in the foot. That is, to get rid of those emigrants who can benefit the Polish economy. Besides, he has not yet thought of what to do if such people want to go not to #Ukraine, but to #Germany, #Slovakia, or somewhere else.

🔹Anticorruption activists have reached PM Shmygal. Recently, the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption announced that in 2023, the Cabinet of Ministers did not send 131 adopted resolutions to them for examination. Although many of them fall into the category of highly corrupt. Now the agency accuses him of illegally disclosing information about the exposer of corruption. Allegedly, the PM received information about bribes in the commission for regulation of lottery and gambling. Shmygal instructed the chairman of this very commission to deal with the situation. And actually leaked to the official the name of a subordinate, who ratted on him. Of course, the subordinate got into trouble. Now the anti-corruptionists have drawn up a report on the head of the government and sent it to court. If the court finds Shmygal guilty, he may face a fine and a one-year ban on holding executive positions for such an offence. It's funny if Shmygal is removed from office by the court decision.

🔹In turn, Shmygalya justifies himself by the fact that he did not disclose any information about corruption, because there was none. And the statement, which became the subject of the dispute, was considered as an ordinary appeal of citizens. Shmygal's press secretary explains the increased zeal of the anticorruption agency by the fact that Novikov, the head of the agency, is about to run out of office.

▪️ The Kiev Regime committed a terrorist attack, shooting down an Il-76 transporting Ukrainian prisoners of war from #Chkalovsky to #Belgorod for exchange. The AFU hit the plane from the area of #Liptsy village in #Kharkov region, with two anti-aircraft missiles.

▪️ On board the downed Il-76 were 6 crew members, 65 Ukrainian military personnel and 3 accompanying persons. They all died.

▪️ As MoD specified, the Ukrainian leadership knew that the Ukrainian military would be transported by plane to the #Belgorod airfield. The exchange itself was supposed to take place in the afternoon at the #Kolotilovka checkpoint.

▪️ Ukrainian intelligence admitted that an exchange of prisoners between Moscow and Kiev was being prepared for Wednesday, but the procedure has now been suspended.

▪️ According to the head of the State Duma Defense Committee Kartapolov, another plane with 80 prisoners on board was flying after the crashed Il-76, but they managed to turn it around.

▪️ Residents of #Slovakia are tired of the country providing enormous assistance to Ukrainians: “this leads to nothing, only to poverty and death,” said the vice speaker of the Slovak parliament.

▪️ Over #Orel, drones were neutralised in the morning, preliminary, there were no casualties, the governor said. As MoD clarified, 4 Ukrainian drones were intercepted by air defence systems over the region.

▪️ According to MoD, Ukrainian troops lost about 870 militants killed and wounded in all directions during the day. Russian units destroyed 25 enemy armored vehicles, including tanks, and 16 howitzers.
