⚡️🇷🇺🇺🇦🎬 What is happening in the #Kupyansk Sector of the Front?
🗓 Over the past few days, Russian fighters have resumed their assault on Ukrainian positions to the north and northeast of #Kupyansk. Recall that the RF Armed Forces were able to 👉 gain a foothold on the opposite bank of the #Oskol River as a result of the 15 May sortie.
🔹 On the right bank of the #Oskol, advanced reconnaissance groups of the RF Armed Forces attacked the positions of the AFU's 14th Mechanized Brigade near #Dvurechnaya. Simultaneously with the attack from the south, artillerymen shelled Ukrainian strongholds en masse from the direction of #Tavolzhanka.
▪️ An advantageous tactical position at altitude allows pressure on #Dvurechna, which is located in the lowlands. The village hosts AFU firing positions, so the liberation of the settlement is necessary to further encircle #Kupyansk.
▪️ A few days earlier, the RF Armed Forces had knocked out units of the AFU's 20th Rifle Battalion in the vicinity of #Sinkovka. Due to the looming threat of a defence breach, French-speaking mercenaries arrived at the frontline.
🔹 Positional battles near #Kupyansk are important. Thanks to the actions of Russian fighters, the AFU is forced to strengthen the city's defence and keep forces in this area. This has already affected the AFU's plans to march on #Svatovo, which have been postponed indefinitely.
