Some years ago, a male family member married into a very affluent and powerful family from the same tribe as ours. I saw firsthand and understood that what we permit is a function of how we see ourselves.
While some of my family members were busy complaining about what the bride and her family did or didn’t do, I was taking notes.
A lot of what we call culture is what our ancestors permitted or encouraged. I will soon be someone’s ancestor. What will I permit or encourage?

*Being good is not enough*
Hello Fam, I have an important message for the good people that are yet to marry!
Being a good person is not a strategy for choosing a life partner.
Many well-meaning singles assume that goodness automatically attracts goodness, but marriage is not sustained by intentions alone. It is sustained by character, discernment, wisdom, and skill.
Good people must learn how to evaluate, not just hope.
How to observe patterns, not potential.
How to ask hard questions, not rush connection.
How to choose someone whose character can carry the weight of a lifelong journey.
*Marriage is not a reward for being good.*
It is a responsibility that requires clarity, emotional maturity, values alignment, and intentional choice.

When you find yourself at a crossroads or carrying matters that require discernment, you can lean confidently on Him for direction. He is not only willing to guide, He is able to lead with clarity, wisdom, and peace.
May the Lord grant you divine insight in every decision before you this month. May confusion give way to clarity, and may strength rise where patience is required.
I pray that your steps are ordered, your work is fruitful, and your obedience is rewarded with visible grace.
