The UK-Singapore Universities Alliance for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (UKSAEI) was launched last week, witnessed by H.E. Kara Owen, British High Commissioner to Singapore, and H.E. Lim Thuan Kuan, Singapore High Commissioner to the UK.

The UKSAEI brings together universities from the UK and Singapore, including SIT, to share knowledge and facilitate collaboration in commercialisation and innovation as well as enabling knowledge exchanges on technology. The Alliance will boost efforts in accelerating ideas to the market and deepen cooperation between innovation ecosystems in the UK and Singapore.

“Prima’s endowed gift of S$3 million to SIT will enable us to establish the Prima Group Applied Research Grant to support innovation projects focused on closing technological gaps in food manufacturing and processing.” - Professor Tan Thiam Soon, President, SIT

The Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) together with The National University of Singapore (NUS) received gifts totalling S$6 million from the Prima Group, in conjunction with its diamond anniversary, which will support a professorship, scholarships and research in food sciences.

The sponsorship from Prima Group will allow SIT to award at least three Prima Group Scholarships annually to academically talented Food Technology undergraduates. Learn more here.

🏢 Meet #SITizen Jun Han! 🏢

As the population grow and more buildings are needed, Jun Han aspires to find a way to build greener, faster, and better. His motivation to design more energy-efficient infrastructure, led him to join the Sustainable Infrastructure Engineering (Building Services) degree programme when it was first launched. He then returned to SIT for an eight-month Master of Engineering Technology in SIE (Building Services) to augment his skills in the profession.
