⋆ ࣪But it means “hope” in my life.
It was a long time ago when I was a wreck, barely able to breathe, just trying to keep myself going. I knew I had to. Because I couldn't end it, I promised myself that I would live, not just be alive.
And I learned that I could live without hope—but for how long?
Living without hope was like walking with your eyes closed when you have the sight to see, but choose not to because the world is overwhelming. But if you keep walking like that, you're going to fall eventually. Maybe you'll even break a few bones, and it will hurt even more.
So I decided to find “hope.”
I don't remember how or where I first heard about four-leaf clovers, but I kept the thought in my mind that finding one would bring me luck.
And since then, for eight years, I've kept looking for four-leaf clovers among endless patches of them, wherever I find them.
In the street, in the garden, or in the yard.
On those hard and black days, I only needed something—not just luck.
Damn, I barely even noticed whether those leaves ever actually brought me any luck. I just needed hope. I needed to believe in something so I could keep going.
And after all these years, I still smile when I find clover leaves, and I still keep searching for the four-leaf ones.
