FACTCHECK: Nuclear won’t cost $600bn.

This figure comes from extrapolating the cost of the most expensive nuclear plant ever and doubling it.

Even the CSIRO assumes a lower capital cost.

When will our leaders stop repeating and apologise for this dodgy number?
@UKLabour
is a great example of something to aspire to.
And
@AustralianLabor
whilst you’re at it ditch the smoke. Cooling towers release water vapour.

I know that there are many Labor members who see through this stuff. It’s time they spoke up and let campaign HQ know how embarrassing this is for their movement.

Where is truth in political advertising?

This $600 billion figure was calculated by extrapolating the cost of the most expensive nuclear plant ever and doubling it.

In fact, even the CSIRO assumes nuclear costs FIVE TIMES less.

These ads should all be pulled.

The lie continues…

Nuclear won’t cost $600 billion.

That’s based on extrapolating the cost of the most expensive nuclear power project ever and doubling it.

Even the CSIRO assumes a cost of 5x less.

You won’t hear an expert using these numbers…

FACTCHECK: Nuclear won't cost $600 billion

It's based on extrapolating the cost of the most expensive nuclear power plant ever and doubling it.

It assumes nuclear costs 5x more than even what the CSIRO predicts.

The nuclear fear campaign must stop.
The claim that nuclear costs $600bn extrapolates the cost of the most expensive nuclear plant and doubling it.

It assumes nuclear costs 5x more than even the CSIRO’s prediction.

It’s from the ‘Smart’ Energy Council which is funded by organisations with alleged links to slavery.

Yes, Australia is the only Top 20 economy ignoring nuclear.

In addition to the countries using it currently…
-Germany imports nuclear power from France & is considering restarts
-Indonesia, Italy & Saudi Arabia are signed up to nuclear
-Turkey is building a nuclear plant

Nuclear is illegal.

Renewables are heavily subsidised.

The private sector didn’t decide to ignore nuclear and go to 100% renewables, ideological politicians did.

FACTCHECK: Small Modular Reactors do exist.

There are 3 small modular reactors in operation today in China & Russia with 80+ designs for SMRs currently in development.

We should be embracing new technologies, not running away from them.
Last night the PM gaslit people into thinking Keir Starmer regrets using nuclear power.

This is what Keir has actually said:
“We're firing up nuclear power to drive growth, jobs and more affordable energy - putting money back in your pocket”
Also what’s the source for the 20 year claim?

How do they say this with a straight face?

The $600bn nuclear figure extrapolates the cost of the most expensive nuclear power plant ever and doubles it.

It even contradicts their own source at the CSIRO which assumes nuclear costs 5x less.

Why would
@DoctorKarl
offer his support to an organisation which is funded by companies with alleged links to slavery and a history of disinformation on nuclear power making up numbers like $600bn and 4% of the grid…

According to reports today ‘Liberals for Nuclear’ isn’t actually a grassroots campaign and its director isn’t even a Liberal.

It now looks like an anti nuclear astroturf group for billionaire Mike Cannon-Brooks.
