🇲🇾In my search for a peaceful café near Mount Austin, a Johorian recommended The Principle Cafe by T.A.M. The Kombu Mushroom Pasta is a delicacy, though the Cucumber Virgin Mojito was ordinary. Excited to try other dishes like the Mushroom & Smoked Duck Pasta and Gula Melaka Latte the next time I visit.

🇲🇾I went on a solo backpacking trip to JB and booked MIICO Hotel through Trip.

The hotel boasts a modern look inside and out, situated in the quieter side of Mount Austin yet surrounded by eateries and convenience stores. It's very convenient for getting around Mount Austin and Tebrau area with Grab app. Next time, I'd love to try the larger room, which looks amazing in online pictures.

If you're planning a solo adventure trip in JB, this hotel is my recommendation. One night stay is just $25-30.

🇲🇾It's not just looking attractive, it taste attractive!

The Top Fish House serve fresh sashimi, huge pieces of oyster, and other Japanese dishes. They also offer healthy poke bowl options and Donburi. I was pleasantly surprised by the large bowl of miso soup and sake-steamed clams; I expected them to be smaller given the super reasonable prices. Not everyone can make sake-steamed clams "soup" well, but theirs was very impressive. I'm craving it even now and can't wait to go back for more. Next time, I'll make sure to go on an empty stomach to try more varieties.
