In response to the escalating hostilities in Gaza that erupted on 18 March 2025, the Singapore Red Cross (SRC) is intensifying its humanitarian support by committing an additional SGD400,000 towards emergency health services, primary healthcare, mental health support and relief efforts, as well as the operations of a 60-bed field hospital in Rafah. SRC will also deploy an operations coordinator to Cairo, Egypt to facilitate relief operations on the ground.

In response to the powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake that struck Central Myanmar and Thailand on Friday afternoon, the Singapore Red Cross (SRC) is committing an initial SGD$150,000 to support emergency relief efforts in both countries.
The contribution will go towards addressing immediate needs, including the distribution of essential supplies, such as food, water, blankets, tarpaulins, and hygiene kits, by the Myanmar Red Cross Society (MRCS) and Thai Red Cross Society (TRCS).
Additionally, a public fundraising appeal will soon be launched to directly support relief and recovery operations for the affected communities.

The Singapore Red Cross has committed an additional tranche of humanitarian supplies to provide urgent relief to communities affected by the devastating earthquake in Myanmar. This includes hygiene kits for families; women’s hygiene kits; jerrycans for the collection, distribution & safe storage of clean water, as well as plastic mats, mosquito nets, and tarpaulins. These supplies are expected to support approximately 8,000 households.
SRC has also dispatched close to 300 water filters to regions such as Mandalay and Sagaing, & nearly 900 solar-powered lights to support communities without power.
All together, these contributions are worth an estimated SGD550,000, and are expected to benefit around 80,000 persons.
