In response to the powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake that struck Central Myanmar and Thailand on Friday afternoon, the Singapore Red Cross (SRC) is committing an initial SGD$150,000 to support emergency relief efforts in both countries.
The contribution will go towards addressing immediate needs, including the distribution of essential supplies, such as food, water, blankets, tarpaulins, and hygiene kits, by the Myanmar Red Cross Society (MRCS) and Thai Red Cross Society (TRCS).
Additionally, a public fundraising appeal will soon be launched to directly support relief and recovery operations for the affected communities.

Wishing you a blessed Hari Raya Aidilfitri with loved ones, from all of us at the Singapore Red Cross. Eid Mubarak!
🇲🇲 The Singapore Red Cross has deployed 90 water filters to Mandalay and Sagaing to support communities-in-need, following a needs assessment. These portable filtration systems are a vital part of our ongoing efforts in WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) and clean water access.

Thanks to the support of the community, we have received close to S$1.5M in donations for the Myanmar & Thailand Earthquake fundraising appeal since its launch on 30 March 2025. Close to 30 fundraising campaigns, online and offline, are being launched by individuals, groups and companies to lend a hand.

We are also hosting our second walk-in safe space at Red Cross House on Sunday, 6 April, to offer mental health support to those whose loved ones were affected by the earthquake.
