Please be informed that the Singapore Canoe Federation (SCF) will be conducting the Pesta Sukan Canoe Sprint & Paracanoe Championships at the Kallang Basin 500m race lanes this weekend on 2 and 3 August 2025.
🗓 Date: 2 & 3 August 2025 (Saturday & Sunday)
🕙 Time: 0700hrs – 1900hrs
📍 Venue: 500m Race Course at Kallang Basin
To ensure the safety of all participants and the smooth running of the event, all vessels—both motorised and non-motorised—are kindly advised to exercise caution and avoid the race lanes, including the start line near the suspension bridge, and to keep clear during race times. Dragon boats may proceed along the designated route, as indicated by the white arrows.
For your information: As SUP is a new added category for this year, there will also be training sessions for them prior to the competition as follows:
Training dates:
- Wednesday, 30 July, 4:00-6:30pm
- Thursday, 31 July, 4:00-6:30pm
- Friday, 1 August, 4:00-6:30pm

🚨 SAFETY ALERT: Marine Life Sighting at Marina Reservoir
Attention paddlers:
Various marine life, including potentially dangerous species, have been recently spotted in Kallang Basin, particularly near Nursery Beach. These creatures, some non-native, may carry sharp barbs or toxins for defense, which can cause serious injury.
The shallow, sandy bottom at Nursery Beach is a habitat for these creatures, so please take extra care when entering or exiting boats.
✅ Safety Guidelines:
- Always wear footwear when stepping into the water.
- Step carefully when entering or exiting boats.
- Tap the bottom with your paddle before stepping to avoid hidden creatures.
- Avoid wading unnecessarily, even in shallow areas.
- Continue tapping ahead with your paddle as you move.
🚑 In Case of Injury:
Call 995 for medical help and contact SDBA via KWSC Emergency Number: 8167 0098
