As violence consumes the world, God grieves.

Revealing a love that is deeply affected by human evil, not distant or indifferent. The flood is an act of preservation, not abandonment: a severe mercy that protects the future of life from total corruption. God chooses Noah, gives clear instructions, remembers him through the waters, brings creation into a renewed world, and establishes a covenant with all living creatures. The rainbow seals a unilateral promise, humanity offers no guarantees. God’s love commits itself despite human weakness, choosing restraint and mercy not because people improve, but because love does.

Babel reminds us that not every unity is good.

When people gathered in pride to build without God, He scattered them. Not out of anger, but out of love. Sometimes God limits our plans so that we do not lose ourselves completely. Divine love protects us, even when it says β€œno.”

Love that Chooses, Promises, and Waits (Genesis 12–25)

God calls Abram with no rΓ©sumΓ©, promising to bless him and through him bless the nations. Abram stumbles. He lies about Sarah, takes matters into his own hands with Hagar, and struggles with doubt. Yet God remains faithful.

God changes his name, walks alone through the covenant, and binds Himself to His promise. Even the test of Isaac reveals a deeper truth: God provides what He requires.

This is covenantal love.
God chooses a relationship He Himself sustains.
