It has been a long time since my last post in this channel. Yesterday, a conversation with a new friend really motivated me to continue share ideas and thoughts on Twitter and Telegram. If I ever stop posting for more than three days, please hold me accountable. π
In the last 1,5 months, I visited the Central Asian cities Astana, Almaty, Shimkent, Tashkent, and Samarkand. In all cities you can feel "growth" and "ambition" in the air. Which city will be the most dominant in the next 50 years? The major investments seem to flow to Astana (Kazakhstan) and Tashkent (Uzbekistan). Both countries want to play a crucial and dominant role in Central Asia. I believe the simple answer is: the country which fights corruption quicker will win. If you'd ask me where I'd want to live, the answer is Almaty. It's a truly beautiful and vibrant city with great food of any variety, beautiful mountains close by, a working infrastructure. If you'd ask me where the biggest business opportunities are, I'd say it's Tashkent. There are so many things still waiting to get developed, including a more liveable city. Nevertheless, Uzbekistan easily wins for the friendliest people in Central Asia, and also the friendliest Russian speaking people.

In Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan you can find many toothpastes explicitly without fluoride (many products local or from Russia or UAE). In Germany, it is nearly impossible to find toothpaste without fluoride. Why?
Today we visited a concert of Denis Kozhukhin and the National Orchestra of Uzbekistan. It was fantastic! https://t.co/PTB2k1hCCK
Today we had lunch at a great Lebanese restaurant in Tashkent. It reminded me that the best food is Mediterranean (end of discussion). This includes especially: Greece, Turkey, Lebanon, Syria, Italy. It's a perfect balance of variety, herbs, vegetables, meat, fish. Just perfect!
Classical orchestras are such a beautiful expression of human intelligence, creativeness, and potential. It's an absolutely beautiful reminder in this world of war, economic depression, etc. It embodies all that we should strive for, instead of war and destruction.
Private Social Media
In the beginning of this year, I created a private Telegram channel. I only invited very close family and lately very close friends. It's such a great way to share experience with them β without any Facebook, Instagram, or WhatsApp Statues. Liberating indeed.
I think this was also the idea of Instagram β in the beginning β which made it such a success. We need closer and more intimate social media with max. 50 "Followers". Only for our VIP's.

Nature Sounds
Over the last couple of weeks I visited several small cities in Kazakhstan and to my surprise, I've never seen more children in a city ever. It was gorgeous to hear them happily playing on the streets.
Now I am in Tashkent, the large capital of Uzbekistan. In all this traffic and construction noise, I really miss a calm rainy walk in the forest or along the ocean.
Living in cities can really detach us from nature, and with this, we lose an important piece of what makes us human.
Cities are great β but as soon they exceed a certain size (I think around 500,000), they become an absolute torture for our human mind, especially long-term.

Living out of hotels totally sucks, I don't understand how anyone could like this. The same is true for eating out in a restaurant everyday. Am I already to old for this?
