SCRIPTURE (S) OF THE DAY:

“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity”

"The victory is ours now"

Friends of Jesus, in every generation, the victory is ours right now. We don’t have to wait to be thrilled by the spectacular events that will accompany our returning Champion. We are already raised with Christ. We can set our hearts on things above. We can set our minds on things above. We can have big hopes, big plans, and big dreams for ourselves and our children. We can rise above anything that is unworthy of the living Lord of everything and beneath the dignity of victorious Christians.

PRAYER:

Spirit of the living Lord Jesus, fill our hearts with love. Thank you for making us Your chosen people. Take charge of our thoughts and help us control our impulses. Help us defeat lust, evil desires, greed, rage, lies, and anything else that should be discarded remnants of our old selves. Help us put on our new selves, renewed in the image of our Creator where Christ is all in all. Help us wear love for others outwardly like Jesus did. In Jesus Name, amen. I seal this prayer with the Blood of Jesus.

CLOSING:

Love creates unity. This is our faith. This is our hope. This is our victory. Amen? Amen. Have a blessed and prosperous day. Remain encouraged. I love you with the love of Christ. Toodles! :)

"The victory is still won"

Friends of Jesus in every generation, the victory is still won. It has not been reversed or overturned. It will never be reversed or overturned. The life, death, and resurrection of Jesus removed our sins, subdued the power of the devil over us, and turned the moment we die into a very brief pause on the way to eternal life with him. His teachings are the road map for the life he wants us to live. This is our faith. This is our hope. This is our victory. We are victorious every day because the Holy Spirit revives our spirits and changes how we think and act for the better.

PRAYER:

Spirit of the living Lord Jesus, come live in us. Come into our hearts today as we read Your words. Stay in our hearts every day as we think about what we have learned from the Bible. Give us mere mortals the extraordinary power to live the victorious lives Jesus won for us. And since we also have eternal souls, give us confidence that we will live forever with You, saints, angels, and other great things we don’t even know about. This is our faith. This is our hope. This is our victory. Amen.

CLOSING:

Praise God! Yes, we are victorious in this life because of Jesus' victorious sacrifice. Amen?! I challenge you and I both to rest(trust and lean into) the finished works of "It is Finished" for now on. Glory be to God! Have a blessed and prosperous day and weekend. Remain encouraged. I love you with the love of Christ. Toodles! :)

"Surviving Self Doubt"

Have you ever received a compliment or praise for a job well done, yet in the midst of the exciting moment, you begin to doubt yourself? Do you think of all the ways you could have performed the job better, finding every mistake instead of genuinely being grateful for your small win, or questioning if you are worthy of such recognition? Maybe you were selected for a promotion, or an opportunity to elevate has presented itself. Instead of embracing the opportunity with confidence, you DOUBT, HESITATE, CRITIQUE, or QUESTION your ability to prosper in this new season of your life.

There is never a reason to doubt God’s plans for you! He merely wants you to TRUST Him and in ALL ways submit your cares, worries, and concerns to Him. Exercising our faith teaches us to not rely on what we see or think is best for our lives but trust that our Creator knows exactly what we need when we need it!

We tend to make all kinds of plans for our life, but we must remember God orders our every step. You can find assurance, completion, direction, instruction, and purpose by relying on God’s Word. God delivered me from self-doubt at the very moment I was ready to throw my hands up! I needed a financial breakthrough, deliverance from relationships/friendships, and removal from environments not supportive of my mental state, to name the least. Right on time, GOD stepped in, and HE wants to do the same for you! Be led by the spirit! Self-doubt kills many dreams. Do not allow doubt to destroy yours! To experience the full manifestation of God’s promises, God wants all of you and not half of you! Being certain of God’s plan and displaying commitment and obedience can manifest some beautiful blessings!

PRAYER:

I thank You, Jesus, for making me to be a survivor who is clothed in Your Grace and Victory. With You, I can do all things through Christ. You are my strength. You are my hope. You are my love. You are my everything, in Jesus Name. Amen! I seal this prayer with the Blood of Jesus.

CLOSING:

So, I challenge you, today, the next time you are staring at the shadow of self-doubt, remember the One who created you. Remember the One whose unwavering love continues to show you mercy, grace, and favor over your life! Do not continue another day believing you are not worthy of God’s promises! Open your heart to receive the amazing blessings He has in store for you! Now, pat yourself on the back, my friend!

Because of your faith and courage to journey through this plan, you are beginning to SURVIVE!

Surviving Broken Promises
Many people tend to believe those they love or trust for every word, without question, believing all people have good intentions and no one intentionally wakes up every morning to manipulate, deceive or disappoint another person. It’s okay to have a good heart and want to see the good in others. However, there comes a time when discernment is a priority to make sure a person’s actions inflict no harm upon you.

The Bible teaches us that as we walk amongst the world, there are many people masked with deceit, but we, as children of God, should recognize a person filled with the Spirit versus a person whose only teaching comes solely from the world.

Can you think of a time when you trusted someone to keep their promise, only to realize they did not truly mean it? Maybe there was a motive behind their actions? Now think of how many times it left you feeling disappointed as if they robbed you of your belief that they would follow through on their promise. Next comes the many emotions that birth: frustration, disappointment, defeat, anger, etc. No one is perfect, and the Bible teaches us to love and pray for our enemies and those who deceive us. I know, it’s easier said than done. We cannot control the actions of those who disappoint us. However, we can use this opportunity to be self-accountable and recognize when we should change our ways, renew our mindset for the better, and live to be more like Christ.

Do not allow broken promises to define you, destroy you, or anger you, but instead, let them challenge you to OVERCOME them! We grow through life experiences. God promises us a beautiful victory over our circumstances and the enemy! No matter what we endure in this life, He has overcome the world, which is confirmation you can survive those temporary feelings that follow a broken promise!

PRAYER:

I thank You, Lord, for being forgiving towards myself and others. I pray that I will no longer justify why to be unforgiving because it was by Your Grace that paid the ransom of my sins. I am forever grateful. In Jesus Name, amen. I seal this prayer with the Blood of Jesus.

CLOSING:

I have an assignment for you! Make a list of all you hold a grudge for because of their actions or broken promises. Then, wholeheartedly, FORGIVE THEM! Not for them, but for YOU! Pray for God to change your heart from the inside out and then celebrate being free from those emotions that hold you back from operating at your best.

Congratulations, my friend. It’s Day 2, and you’re still surviving!

Surviving Insecurities
In today’s world, insecurity has caused many to lose sight of the beauty that is God’s creation. YOU! We may put on a “perfect” image, yet underneath it all is hurt, pain, fear, shame, and many other insecurities. We strive to meet the unrealistic expectation of others out of fear of being judged or left out. Not trusting who we are is a beautiful masterpiece within itself. God is not looking for perfection in usHe is interested in our progression, and as Christians, this is something we will forever work on.
In Genesis 1, God began creating the world, and when He created humans, He intentionally created them in His image. When all was said and done, God said it was all GOOD, and that, my loves, includes YOU!
Whatever you feel you need to fix in life, do so according to what is pleasing to God and your heart, not to be validated by others. God is not impressed by our material things. God measures our faith, obedience, and love for Him by our hearts. If you could look inside your heart now, what would God say about you?
As you evaluate yourself, know that God plans to use your every imperfection. Don’t be ashamed of who you are because whose you are has a purpose! The minute you accept who you are, you will see that what you view as a mess will one day turn out to be your message, to lead others to Christ!
So hang in there, my fellow brothers and sisters! You have survived many things, and insecurity can be another one of them! God will use your weakness to prove His power and showcase your strength.
PRAYER:
I boldly declare by faith that I am the head and not the tail. I am above and NEVER beneath. I am blessed going in and blessed going out. I am a lender and no longer a borrower. I am blessed to be a blessing to all the families upon the Earth. In Jesus Name, amen. I seal this prayer with the Blood of Jesus.
CLOSING:
List what you feel is an imperfection. Declare you are a beautiful masterpiece because God says you are. Now wad it up, then trash it! Next, take a sticky note, write positive affirmations or qualities about yourself and post them everywhere you can see them! Recite them with confidence every day!
Moving forward, negative talk of yourself will not grace your lips. Worldly views no longer define you but instead are defined by who God says you are! You thought your insecurity would defeat you, but guess what, my love, you are STILL surviving! Day 3 in the books!

Surviving Inadequacy
How many of you have been in a situation where you have done everything you can for an individual, solidify a job, try out for a team, or be the best friend, sister, or significant other you can be? After all, is said and done, are you still burdened with the feeling of not being good enough, wanting to be seen or heard, needing to be picked next, waiting for your turn to be celebrated?

You may walk away from the situation feeling empty or left with a void because you believed you were worthy of the opportunity presented. Well worthy you are! There is someone who can do for you what man can never satisfy. He is the one and only All-Powerful, All-Knowing God, whose grace is sufficient and nothing is too hard for Him. Sometimes the “No” or “Not yet” you receive is a blessing in disguise because God has something bigger and better in store for you! When you put all of your faith in God, you should be confident in knowing any promotion you receive is not by Man, but by God! When you walk with purpose, boldness, and confidence, the right opportunity will present at the right time. Trying to fill a void on your own is temporary. God can take your feeling of inadequacy and use it to qualify you for any position, connect you with the right individual to leverage your business or place the right person(s) in your life who will support and encourage you to full capacity if you fully rely on His Word. First, you must accept that it all happens in His timing.

2 Corinthians 12:9 states that God’s power works best in your weakness. This is when we should rely on God the most! There is no need to run from your feeling of inadequacy, but instead, trust God will use what makes you feel weak to help you feel strong.

PRAYER:

Heavenly Father, You said in Your Word to Delight myself in Your Presence and You would give me the desires of my heart. Ironically, my heart's desire is to do Your Will boldly. Thank You, Lord, for giving me a penetrable heart where You get all of the Glory. In Jesus Name, Amen! I seal this prayer with the Blood of Jesus.

CLOSING:

It’s time to re-evaluate where your focus lies. Try God! Submit your feeling of emptiness to Him, and watch Him make you whole in ways others could not fulfill. When you realize you are enough for Him, celebrate the breaking of yet another chain!

Today is Day 4, and you should be celebrating your journey! Share this plan with a friend or encourage another to journey towards being a faithful survivor!

Surviving Hardships:

Some believe life is great as long as everything appears to be going as planned. We can celebrate and praise God when all things are good, but what happens when a monkey wrench gets thrown into your plans? One you are not prepared for? Do you still have the strength and desire to praise God, even when you are going through it?

We call the struggles of life, hardships and yes, they are bound to happen. Jesus said, "In this world, you will have many trials. But take heart! I have overcome the world." (John 16:33) How many of you believe this statement is true but still struggle to stand strong in your faith in your challenging season? Well, it's completely understandable. God sent His one and only son to appear on earth in physical form so He, too, could experience life, as we do today. Because of His sacrifice, we can find hope and joy in knowing Christ can relate to us in more ways than one.

Hardships come in many forms: financial, mental, emotional, physical, etc. When life's barriers occur, we tend to ask why we have to go through such triumph. How do you ever expect to share your testimony to a challenging test that you never had to experience? We grow in life by the things we go through. They make us stronger, wiser, better and have faith like no other. Through each trying season, you can rest assured our Savior walks right alongside us.

God says not to be afraid or discouraged during your trials. He is in the midst and interceding on your behalf every step of the way. You just have to trust in Him. Once you let go, it is imperative you allow Him to have His way. Our Heavenly Father is ALWAYS present! ALL knowing and ALL powerful! These qualities should give you hope that you can overcome any trial the devil tries to send your way.

PRAYER:

Heavenly Father, I thank You for being The Promise Keeper in my life. When everything may change, yet in You, I find You to be constant and consistent. Heaven and Earth may pass away, but Your Word remains. That's why I can lean on and in You. In Jesus Name, Amen. I seal this prayer with the Blood of Jesus.

CLOSING:

As a child of the Most High King, I believe you CAN and WILL victoriously pull through this season! Tell me, how does it feel to be on Day 5 of your journey and realize you truly are one of God's strongest warriors?! Well, give Him your highest praise because He is ready to utilize you in some miraculous ways! Have a blessed and prosperous day and weekend. Remain encouraged. I love you with the love of Christ. Surviving Myself:

CONGRATULATIONS, MY FRIEND! You have endured this plan until the end, and you should now be ready for your new beginning!

When it comes to walking in faith, it is important you do not stand in your own way. There are times when the barrier to us walking in our purpose and overcoming our obstacles is not because of others but because of our decisions. We disbelieve in our abilities. We self-sabotage opportunities that are good for us. We want to be in control of every area of our life. Only God knows our innermost being since He is the one who created us in our mother’s womb. The truth is that HE is in full control of your life. Not you. He knows your struggles, your challenges, as well as your fullest potential! He calls us to do amazing things, and it is time you TRUST in Him and watch how blessed your life becomes!

We are reminded of this in Psalms 139:13-14, that God knows everything about us from the top of our heads to the soles of our feet! We are fearfully and wonderfully made! Make the decision to fully submit to God and break every stronghold holding you back from pursuing your destiny! No more self-doubt! No more feeling inadequate and insecure! No more being defeated because of broken promises or relationships! No more allowing your hardships to define you or your future!

PRAYER:

Today, I take a stand with Heaven by choosing to be a "finisher" who doesn't cave in and quit at hard times. Yet, I will pursue to please God by being the best version of myself. More is to come, and I will not allow fear of the unknown to be my guidance any further. I choose to walk by faith and not by sight. In Jesus Name, Amen! I seal this prayer with the Blood of Jesus.

CLOSING:

I am so proud of how far you have come! This plan is not to assure you that everything will be easy moving forward once you work to change your perspective. Trials and challenges are bound to happen. Now, prayerfully you have an understanding that by keeping God at the forefront of your life, your plans, your relationships, and your many decisions, you trust He will keep your paths straight. I pray this Bible plan blessed you somehow, and you now realize you have a few tools to help you get through your most trying seasons! Remember, no matter what, you’re never alone in this process! God is always present! Because of your commitment to bettering yourself and taking this leap of faith, my friend, you are now an Official Member of The Survival of the Faithful Crew!! "Firm Foundation"

One thing that always fascinates me about the story Jesus tells in Matthew 7 is that there is no difference in appearance to the houses these men built. The ultimate difference that allowed the buildings to stand or crumble was the foundation - the hidden yet strong-holding element of the build.

A poor foundation is not intentionally built - it is built when we are ignorant of the need for a foundation. Becoming a Christian and humbly accepting our need for Jesus and His grace is our first point of building a solid foundation. We suddenly realize that we need one.

Jesus has said that in this life, we would experience difficult times - or, as the analogy is put in this story, "storms"- but the good news is that Jesus has overcome the world and its storms (John 16:33). But it's these moments that show us on what our foundation is built - and it is why it is so essential to make sure our foundation is firmly built on the rock that is Jesus, the only one who has overcome. Our foundation is what we trust most, where we find purpose and satisfaction.

We can build on one of two foundations:

1. The Sand: These are things of the world that give us happiness for only a moment (essentially anything other than Jesus). Building on the sand can look like relying on money, drugs, alcohol, gossip, people, and many other things as the ultimate source of satisfaction.

2. The Rock: Jesus and His Word, the Bible. We must not only hear the Word but also do it. That's how we build our foundation. Reading the Bible is like reading the instructions for building the foundation - it's useful, but it won't build it. When we put Jesus' words in the Bible into action, we build our foundation on the rock. The Bible is our guide, and we are the ones to put it into action with the help of Jesus and His grace (because we won't do it perfectly!)

When we build on the sand, we can find that purpose and satisfaction for a short while during the sunshine of life, but when the storm comes, we realize that the satisfaction and purpose of those things are fleeting. They are not foundation material. They cannot continually satisfy as the way Jesus can. Even when life gets tough, we can rely on Jesus and His words, His promises in the Bible.

Jesus' overarching point is that we need a foundation for our lives which must be Jesus because nothing else can withstand the tough times life throws at us. When life gets tough, we often depend on other things and build our lives on sand. We give into our fleshly desires and trust in things that only momentarily quench our thirst for satisfaction. But Jesus spoke of a living water, given by him, that will never leave us thirsting again (John 4:1-26).

We build our life's foundation on Jesus by reading the Bible (the Word of God), doing what it says, and actively pursuing Jesus through prayer and community. Jesus loves you and knows you better than anyone - He wants what's best for you, which is found in His Word.

EXERCISE:

Think about your need for a foundation in your life:

o What have you tried to build on before?
o How can you practically ensure you build your life upon Jesus daily?

PRAYER:

Today, I choose to seek first the Kingdom of God and all of His Righteousness. Yes, the Kingdom of God is my home, and I will remain connected to my Source, Jesus Christ. In Christ, I can and I will do all things well who strengthens me today. In Jesus Name, amen! I seal this prayer with the Blood of Jesus.

CLOSING:

Have a blessed and prosperous day as you are encouraged to know that the Prince of Peace, Jehovah Shalom, is your Source today. Amen? You are built and established upon the Rock who is Jesus Christ today. Amen. Remain encouraged. I love you with the love of Christ. Toodles! :)

"Faith"

This word gets used a lot: "faith". But, what is it? Hebrews 11:1 (ESV) describes it as "...the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see." Faith is our ability to trust in the things we cannot see right in front of us.

You can look at the device on which you're reading this and believe it's there. That's easy because it's in front of you - but faith is more than a belief; it is a readiness to press into something and to trust it. Faith goes beyond what we can see. For example, you cannot see your heart beating - but you can note the evidence of it - your pulse - and therefore believe it is beating. Faith is required in Christianity because God is similar to our heartbeat in that we cannot see Him - but His evidence is all around us.

God cannot be known fully. After all, if we knew everything about Him, He wouldn't be God! He has revealed some things to us, but some are a mystery, and that's ok. Through faith, we can believe in the work of God - and we know we can put our trust in Him because He is faithful (1 Corinthians 1:9).

Reading the Bible can build our faith in God's existence and works. Romans 10:17 (ESV) says: "So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ." The more we get to know God through the Bible, the greater our faith in Him can grow - as we build Him as our foundation!

We need to have faith in God and who He is to be saved - if we deny His existence and His work through Jesus, how can we accept His salvation? But faith itself is not what saves us, but rather it is the grace of God - through our faith that grants us His unmerited grace. Ephesians 2:8-9 (ESV) reads: "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God".

God's grace is His gift to us. He gave us, Jesus, to be a sacrifice for our sins so that we may know God and live life completely fulfilled in him (John 3:16). Although we cannot see God in front of us, by faith, we can believe He exists and is at work in our lives - and through our faith in Jesus, we can accept His life-giving Grace and salvation. "Because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" Romans 10:9 (ESV).

EXERCISE:

o Is there anything about God you find hard to have faith in?
o If so, identify it and explore what the Bible says about it!

PRAYER:

Today, I choose to acknowledge that the faith of God within me is a Heavenly Gift from my Heavenly Father who has adorn me with the beauty of His Salvation. I am forever grateful and thankful to be chosen and called by name for my Heavenly Father's good use. So, I declare and decree boldly, by faith, that my faith will not fail. It will stand and endure, in Jesus Name. Amen! I seal this prayer with the Blood of Jesus.

CLOSING:

Have a blessed and prosperous day as you value the gift of faith that has been entrusted to you. Your faith is mighty in battle through Christ today. "The Bible: Man's Penmanship but God's Authorship"

Have you ever had that moment where you are in a dark room, in the middle of the night, desperately trying to find the light switch? You are gasping at door frames and slapping the walls hoping you will find the light - but why? Because when we find the light switch, we can see where we are going. Just like that light, God's Word (the Bible) is hugely important in our walk with Christ. Psalm 119:105 (ESV) says, "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." It is what guides us on our journey, and it is how God speaks to us!

The Bible is what we call divine, which means it is of God. Human authors wrote the Bible, but the words were inspired by the Holy Spirit - it is man's penmanship, but God's authorship - that is what 2 Timothy 3:16 is talking about when it says God "breathed out" scripture. And because God is the author of the Bible, it is no ordinary book. Hebrews 4:12 describes the Word of God as "living and active" - God's words minister to our hearts.

2 Timothy 3:17 says that the scriptures help us to be "equipped for every good work." This equipment happens when we allow God's Word to teach us, correct us, and train us (verse 16) - it is designed to show us how to be more like Christ and how we are to live as Christians.

But, it is important to note that we can acknowledge the Bible and what it says but fail to live it out. James 1:23-25 continues this thought in another analogy, describing someone who hears the Word but fails to practice it as someone who looks in a mirror but forgets what they look like once they walk away. Doing what the Bible says can be hard, and we won't be perfect at it - but we have the opportunity to try, thanks to Jesus and His unfailing Grace. When we read the Word but don't do it, it's like finding that light switch in the dark but refusing to turn it on. The Word is our lamp; let's light up our path!

Reading the Bible takes time and patience, but it is worth it. Read it through the lens of the person writing and their context (a Bible commentary will be helpful to get some insight!). Figure out what the author wants to say, and then think about how God would want us to apply that principle to our lives.

EXERCISE:

o Choose a verse from today's bible plan and research it.
o Figure out what the author wanted to say
o Think about how God would want you to apply that to your life today.

PRAYER:

Heavenly Father, I thank You for inviting me to Your Glorious Light today. Yes, Your Word is a lamp unto my feet and light unto my path where I walk in Your Order with Godly direction. I choose to trust Your Divine Direction. You will not lead me wrong. In Jesus Name, amen. I seal this prayer with the Blood of Jesus.

CLOSING:

Have a blessed and prosperous day as you are reminded that you have been designed to shine and bring forth the Glory of God upon the Earth as you testify about Jesus Christ, the Anointed One in His Anointing. Be the salt and the light of this Earth today because you come to please the Father, by faith, by standing in faith. Amen? Amen. Remain encouraged. I love you with the love of Christ. Toodles! :)

"Prayer"
Have you ever tried to imagine what it would have been like to walk and talk with Jesus as He walked His life on this Earth 2000 years ago? Imagine what it would have been like to ask Him whatever question came to mind. Jesus' 12 closest followers, the disciples, could ask Jesus anything they wanted.
When the disciples saw Jesus perform miracles and teach, they didn't say, "Jesus, teach us how to heal!" or "Jesus, teach us how to walk on water." Instead, what captured their attention was hearing and watching Him pray, so they asked, "Lord, teach us to pray."
They wanted to know how to talk to God in prayer. Notice what Jesus gave them when they asked this question. In Luke 11:1–4 (ESV), Jesus gives His disciples a run down on how to pray.
This prayer can be broken down into four parts:
1. Adoration
Jesus says, "Hallowed be your name."
By saying hallowed be your name, Father, Jesus was saying that God's name is a holy name that should be revered, honored, and respected.
And it's almost like complementing our friends. We want to tell them how great we think they are simply because they are.
It's also a reminder that our God is a perfect, good, just, and holy God who deserves to be praised, not just for what He's done, but simply because of who He is.
2. Confession
Jesus says, "Forgive us our sins."
This second step involves saying, "God, I know I have sinned. Please forgive me."
Each of us has our habits and ways of living that separate us from God. It might be our pride, jealousy, unhealthy addictions, or gossip.
3. Thanks
Has anyone ever heard the phrase count your blessings? That is exactly what we do when we pray prayers of thanks. Telling God, "Thank you for the blessings and everything I have in my life!"
4. Ask
Jesus prayed, "Give us each day our daily bread, And lead us not into temptation."
Supplication means to "plead humbly" or to "ask for something humbly," so when we pray prayers of supplication, it just means asking God for something humbly.
Lastly, 1 Thessalonians 5:16-17says, "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing."
Try thinking of your prayer life as an ever-open line of communication. A phone call that never comes to an end with someone on the other end who's never tired of hearing from you.
EXERCISE:
Try praying as Jesus did, including the four steps in the devotional.

"Cast it Off"

Are you overwhelmed by the weight of a burden you were never meant to carry?

Let the timeless words of King David, inspired by the Holy Spirit, sink deep into your soul…

“Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.”
Psalm 55 : 22 ESV

The word cast in Hebrew means to throw, hurl, shed, or fling. To propel something as far as possible. To sling something out of your sight.

We know that the author, King David, had plenty of burdens to cast off. Not only did he carry the weight and responsibility of being King of Israel, but he also had an explicitly muddy record.

And yet, even with David’s downfalls and heartaches, he knew where to cast his burdens. He knew who to turn to for help. He knew how to humble himself, repent of his sins, and cling to God’s mercy and grace.

So, what about you? What burdens are you carrying? The big ones, the little ones, and everything in between. The everyday worries, the soul-crushing fears, the agonizing shame.

Did you know that you can surrender all of them to the Lord—rather than crumbling under their pressure?

God wants to carry your burdens, but you have to cast them off.

So don’t just half-heartedly set down your burdens or passively give them to God; cast them at His feet. You can trust that He will sustain you and give you the strength to stand.

"Keep it Up"

Do you remember the last time you were completely exhausted? Maybe you spent tons of time and energy working on a difficult project. Maybe you felt depleted after helping everyone else around you—physically or emotionally. Maybe hard situations and complex circumstances made you feel like giving up.

All of us grow tired at some point.

Paul, the writer of Galatians, knew that the people he was writing to would also become tired of the work they were doing. During Paul’s time, there was a lot of persecution and hurting people, and Paul was writing to encourage them in the work they were doing.
Inside Paul’s encouragement to the Galatians is this truth:

Even godly people will tire of doing good things.

That’s why Paul encourages everyone to continue to push forward in doing good. We should continue to help people. We should continue to share the hope of Jesus with others. We should continue to live as God would want us to—especially when things get hard.

God knows that we’ll eventually grow weary. And when we grow tired and frustrated, we’ll probably begin to question why we’re doing any of this to begin with. (Maybe you’ve already asked yourself this.)

But Galatians 6:9 encourages us to persevere in doing good things. Similar to how a farmer must work diligently to plant his crops and wait months before the actual harvest, Paul says there will be a harvest for those who do not give up.

Just like the Christ

"The Cost of Following Jesus"

https://youtu.be/WiChRFPFmXg?si=OmLUSbEXgad2KyPI

We know from Scripture that salvation is a free gift that Jesus offers to those who trust and believe in Him. But just because our salvation is free—doesn’t mean the rest of our lives with Jesus will cost us nothing as well.

Jesus says that following Him will cost us everything. This doesn’t mean we have to earn our salvation or work for acceptance, but it does mean that following Jesus requires everything that we have.

When we become disciples of Jesus, we follow in His footsteps. We let Jesus teach and guide us. If we are serious about this, then our lives will become patterned after His life. This means that just as Jesus took up a cross and gave up everything He had, we also must be ready to carry our own cross.

So what does it mean to take up a cross and follow Jesus? It means that we should be ready to give up everything for the sake of Jesus. It means denying ourselves by surrendering our own desires and plans for God’s desires and plans. Rather than focusing on ourselves, we center our lives around God’s mission in the world: loving Him and loving others as we make disciples.

Taking up one’s cross isn’t easy, but there is nothing in this life that is better than following Jesus. While immediate pleasure often feels more desirable in the moment, it quickly fades and leaves us searching for more. No possession or position can lead to true satisfaction in life—that is found only in Jesus.

Take a moment to think about your life. Are there things that you’re holding onto that you would be hesitant to surrender to Jesus? Are there relationships that serve your own desires rather than God’s? Commit to following Jesus regardless of how difficult or challenging life might become. The cross, while painful, is temporary—abundant life with Jesus is eternal.
