बिलाद्बहिर्बिलस्यान्तःस्थितमार्जारसर्पयोः।
मध्ये चाखुरिवाभाति पत्नीद्वययुतो नरः॥

रे रे लोकाः कुरुध्वं श्रवणपुटपिधानं द्रुतं हस्तयुग्मैः शैलाः
सर्वेऽपि यूयं भवत गुरुतराः सावधाना धरित्र्याम्।
शीघ्रं रे रावण त्वं विरचय वसनैर्नासिकानां पिधानं
सुप्तोऽयं कुम्भकर्णः कटुरवविकटं शर्धते दीर्घमुच्चैः॥


Hey, Hey Folks! Swiftly shield your ears with both your hands! All you mountains, become heavier and brace yourselves carefully upon the earth. O Rāvaṇa, hasten to make the masks with cloths to cover the noses. This Kumbhakarṇa, who slumbers, is unleashing terribly high unbearable roars.

जिह्वायाश्छेदनं नास्ति न तालुपतनाद्भयम्।
निर्विशेषेण वक्तव्यं निर्लज्जः को न पण्डितः॥


“There is no cutting of the tongue, nor is there any fear of the palate falling. One should speak without any discrimination, Which intellectual isn't shameless?”

There are no physical repercussions (like the tongue being cut or the palate falling) for speaking freely and indiscriminately. Therefore, anyone can speak boldly and appear knowledgeable without facing immediate physical consequences, regardless of the accuracy or appropriateness of their statements.

विना मद्यं विना मांसं परस्वहरणं विना।
विना परापकारेण दिविरो दिवि रोदिति॥


"The government clerks weep the day which passes without alcohol, without meat, without stealing others' possessions and without harming others."

This is true even today and highlights that the government officials are so deeply involved in these unethical activities that their day becomes unbearable without them. Hence, if they are deprived of these vices during the day, they weep. This satirical remark highlights the extent of moral corruption and dependency on unethical behavior among such individuals.

असारे खलु संसारे सारं श्वशुरमन्दिरम्।
हरो हिमालये शेते हरिः शेते महोदधौ॥


"In this worthless world, a worthy place is the house of the father-in-law.
Hara (Shiva) rests on Himalaya, and Hari (Vishnu) rests in the ocean."

Lord of Mountains is said to be the father of Parvati Devi and Father-in-law of Shiva Ji. Lord of Oceans is said to be the father of Lakshmi devi and Father-in-law of Shri Vishnu.

सामगायनपूतं मे नोच्छिष्टमधरं कुरु।
उत्कण्ठितासि चेद्भद्रे वामं कर्णं दशस्व मे॥


Sanctified by the chanting of the Sama Veda, do not make my lower lip impure.
If you are eager, dear one, bite my left ear. (Perhaps, The right ear was considered sanctified.)

स्वयं पञ्चमुखः पुत्रौ गजाननषडाननौ।
दिगम्बरः कथं जीवेदन्नपूर्णा न चेद्गृहे॥

Digambara, who's himself five-faced and have one son with the face of an elephant and another one with six faces ; How would he live if Annapurna isn't at home?
