It was such a pleasure to work on this album (especially the title track, 'The Centre').
I recall being struck instantly by the words and its deep metaphysical meanings.
The music 'came' almost immediately after reading the poem.

In the fabled city of Samarkand last week, I performed an Uzbek version of my song, ‘The Centre’, arranged especially for the epic event, ‘The Saga of the Eternal City’.

I’m releasing it now so that everyone can hear it and see the shimmering scenes created by the brilliant production director, Andrei Boltenko.

Many thanks to him for his endless inspiration, to Mr Bakhtiyor Fazilov for his invitation & gracious hospitality, and to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov for their support.
