"Don't sit back and admire your deeds, for self-admiration may nullify them; Allāh Almighty says :
• يَمُنُّونَ عَلَيْكَ أَنْ أَسْلَمُوا۟ۖ قُل لَّا تَمُنُّوا۟ عَلَىَّ إِسْلَٰمَكُمۖ بَلِ ٱللَّهُ يَمُنُّ عَلَيْكُمْ أَنْ هَدَىٰكُمْ لِلْإِيمَٰنِ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ
• They consider it a favour upon you that they have accepted Islām. Say, 'Do not consider your Islām a favour upon me. Rather, Allāh has conferred favour upon you that He has guided you to the faith, if you should be truthful.' [1]
So, look at your deeds as if they are deficient, an outlook that might compel you to seek forgiveness and repent to Allāh Almighty, while thinking well about Him. When a person admires his deeds, feeling that he deserves many favours from Allāh Almighty, he is in a very dangerous situation; his deeds may become nullified. We ask Allāh to protect and pardon us."

💯 Miscellaneous Benefits from Yemen
BENEFIT 14: A common mistake that many fall into‼️
When some people enter the masjid and find the Imām in the sujūd position, they stand there waiting until the Imām gets up for the next rak'ah.
This is incorrect because:
1⃣. It goes against the general command in the Qur'ān & Sunnah encouraging us to rush towards good:
For example:
{فَٱسۡتَبِقُوا۟ ٱلۡخَیۡرَ ٰتِ}
“Hasten towards all that is good.”
[Sūrah Al-Baqarah: 148]
So hastening towards good in this case would be to join the prayer immediately, regardless of what position the Imām is in.
2⃣. It goes against the specific command of the Prophet ﷺ to join the prayer:
Abū Hurairah reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
((إِذَا جِئْتُمْ إِلَى الصَّلاَةِ وَنَحْنُ سُجُودٌ فَاسْجُدُوا وَلاَ تَعُدُّوهَا شَيْئًا)).
“When you come to the prayer and we are prostrating, you must prostrate, but do not count this as a rak’ah.”
[Sunan Abi Dawud, 893; authenticated by Sheikh Albāni in Al-Irwā' (496)]
So you must join the prayer, even if this rak'ah does not count.
3⃣. You are preventing yourself from making the most of these missed Sujūds:
▪️The closest a person is to Allah is when they are in sujood. This is why the Prophet ﷺ encouraged us to exert ourselves in making du'a. But this opportunity is missed by those who remain standing.
▪️The more sujūd a person performs, the greater the likelihood they will accompany the Prophet ﷺ in Jannah.
Rabi'a ibn Ka'b said: I was with Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) one night. and I brought him water and what he required. He said to me: Ask (anything you like). I said: I ask your company in Paradise. He (the Prophet) said: Or anything else besides it. I said: That is all (what I require). He said: Then help me to achieve this for you by devoting yourself often to prostration.
[Sahih Muslim, 489]

Advice to sisters (forwarded message):
An old lady noticed that young and foolish girls were messing around with guys, giving them access to their bodies, in the hope that they would one day marry them.
The wise old lady said:
اللي يشرب حليب ببلاش عمره ما راح يفكر يشتري بقرة
'𝘐𝘧 𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘵𝘰 free 𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘬, 𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘣𝘶𝘺 𝘢 𝘤𝘰𝘸.'
If you fool around with guys, they will never marry you. They will just use and abuse you, and then move onto to the next one. When they eventually decide to settle down, they'll marry a modest, conservative woman who observes correct hijab.
Be smart and vigilant and don't let anyone use you.
The wife of 'Azeez was not able to win over Yusuf (peace be upon him) through her acts of seduction, yet the girl of Madyan modestly won over Musa (peace be upon him) through her Hayaa'.
Real men are not deluded by the falseness of transient beauty but are attracted to the substance of good character.

Ibn ʿUyaynah narrated to us, from Hishām b. Ḥujayr on the authority of Ṭāwūs, who said: “A young man's nusuk (ie: religious commitment and asceticism) will not be perfected (or completed) until he gets married.”

Hasan Al-Basri رحمه الله said:
“Our istighfār (seeking forgiveness) requires istighfār!”
[Tafsīr Al-Qurtubī: 4/210]
*The intent behind this is that many of us are not sincere in our istighfār and we do not meet the conditions of an accepted repentance.
This is because repentance has conditions which need to be met in order for it to be accepted.
1) The person gives up the sin immediately
Saying you have repented, and you haven’t given up the sin is the repentance of the liars!
Al-Fuḍayl ibn ʻIyāḍ رحمه الله said:
“Repentance without Iqlā’ (giving up the sin) is the repentance of the liars!”
2) That he regrets the sin he has committed
This is the cornerstone and pillar of repentance. The Prophet ﷺ said:
(Regret is repentance)
You cannot say you have repented when you do not regret the sin you committed. Rather, if they had another opportunity to commit it, they would pounce at the opportunity and hasten to do it another time. And you cannot say you have repented sincerely if you remember your sins as good moments in your life as if you’re proud of it.
3) That he has a firm resolve to never commit the sin he has repented from
Many people say they have repented, but they do not have a firm resolve to leave the sin. They do not cut off the people of the sin, or abandon the place of the sin or refrain from the pathways and avenues which lead back to the sin.
This is why our repentance requires repentance!

A Series of Reminders About The Month of Sha'bān - No.2
Sheikh al-'Uthaymīn رحمه الله said: "That which is correct is that all of the aḥadīth about that 15th night of Sha'bān cannot be used as a proof, and from them are things that are fabricated."
Ibn Dihyah al-Kalbī (died 331H) said: The people of at-Ta'dīl wa at-Tajrīḥ (i.e. the 'Ulamā of Ḥadīth) have said: 'There isn't a single ḥadīth about the 15th night of Sha'bān that is ṣaḥīḥ (authentic).
Zayd Ibn Aslam stated: "We have not encountered anyone from our Mashāyikh or Scholars of fiqh who acknowledge the middle of Sha'bān, nor do they acknowledge the hadīth of Makḥūl, nor do they see it has having more merit than other months."
It was said to Ibn Abī Mulaykah: 'Indeed, Ziyād an-Numayrī states the reward of the middle night of Sha'bān is like the reward of Laylatu al-Qadr.' To which he responded: 'If I were to hear him and had a stick in my hand, I would have beat him."
