‎Narrated Abu Hurairah [رضي الله عنه]: The Prophet [ﷺ] said:

‎❝Whoever established Salāt [prayer] on the night of Qadr with sincere faith and hoping for a reward from Allāh, then all his previous sins will be forgiven; and whoever observes Saum [fasts] in the month of Ramadān with sincere faith and hoping for a reward from Allāh, then all his previous sins will be forgiven.❞

Wearing Henna During Fasting

Question: Is it permissible to apply Henna to hair whilst fasting?

Answer By Shaykh Muhammad Bin Salih Al-Uthaymeen:

«وضع الحناء أثناء الصيام لا يفطر، ولا يؤثر على الصائم شيئا.»

❝Applying Henna whilst fasting does not break the fast, nor does it at all affect the person fasting.❞

Supplication On Lailatul Qadr

Upon the Authority of Aisha [رضي الله عنها] who said:

❝I asked: 'Oh Messenger of Allah! If i am granted success in ascertaining Lailatu Qadr what should i supplicate? So he said: You should say: 'Oh Allah! Indeed you the one who pardons, you love to pardon, so pardon me.'❞

Levels Of Fasting

Ibn Qaddama [رحمه الله] said:

❝Fasting has Three levels:

General Fasting

Specific Fasting

Special Specific Fasting

As for General Fasting then that is: Preventing the stomach and private parts from fulfilling desires.

As for specific fasting: Then it is preventing staring and the tongue, the hand, the leg, listening to, the eyesight and all the rest of the limbs from sinning.

Special Specific Fasting: It is fasting and keeping the heart free from lowly aspirations and thoughts which distance a person from Allaah [تعالى]. Also totally freeing the heart from everything except Allaah [تعالى].

In the Hadeeth from the narration of Bukhari that the Prophet [ﷺ] said:

«من لم يدع قول الزور والعمل به فليس لله حاجة في أن يدع طعامه وشرابه.»

'Whoever does not leave off false statements or acting upon them, then Allaah has no need that a person leaves off his food and his drink.'❞

Making Dua During Ramadan

«إن لله تبارك وتعالى عتقاء في كل يوم وليلة – يعني في رمضان – وإن لكل مسلم في كل يوم وليلة دعوة مستجابة.»

❝Indeed Allaah [تبارك وتعالى] frees slaves every day and night [in Ramadan] and indeed every Muslim has every day and night a supplication that is answered.❞

Translators Note: As for making Dua specifically only at the time of Iftaar thinking that this is a special time then the Hadeeth regarding it has a Da’eef Isnaad. 'Indeed a fasting person has a Dua at the time of Iftaar which is not rejected.' [Graded Da’eef By Sh. Albaani In Kalimah Tayyib, (No. 164)]

❝Verily hatred prevents one from the blessings of Laila Tul Qadr, and that hatred and enmity which occurs between two people is not forgiven on this great night❞

What Is The Ruling Of Getting An Injection For Nourishment?

Shaykh Muhammad Bin Salih Al-Uthaymeen [رحمه الله] said:

❝If a person gets an injection for nourishment and it nourishes him from food then by that he has eaten and drank, and his fast is not correct.❞

Shaykh Muhammad Bin Salih Al-Uthaymeen [رحمه الله] said:

Feeding A Person To Open His Fast

From Khalid Al-Juhani [رضي الله عنه] from the Prophet [ﷺ] who said:

«من فطّر صائماً؛ كان له مثل أجره، غير أنَّه لا ينقص من أجر الصائم شيء.»

❝Whoever opened the fast of a fasting person then he will receive the reward the like of the fasting person, except that it will not decrease anything from the reward of the fasting person.❞

Ibn Rajab Al-Hanbali [رحمه الله] said:

❝A fasting person sacrifices his food and drink for Allah's sake. Therefore, if he aids another fasting person by strengthening him with giving him his food and drink then this person is of the status of the one who left off his desires for the sake of Allaah and preferred others and shared his food and drink.

This is why it is legislated for him to feed those to open their fast along with him when he opens his fast.

This is because at that moment food is beloved to that person. So he shares it so he can be from those about whom Allaah says:

«And they give food, inspite of their love for it [or for the love of Him], to Miskin [poor], the orphan, and the captive» [Qur’ān, (76:8)]

One of the righteous from the Salaf would desire some food whilst fasting, when food was placed in front of him, he heard a beggar saying: 'Who will lend to the One who is wealthy, trustworthy, and Ever-Sufficient [Allaah]?'

So this righteous person responded with: 'Yes, this poor slave who has very few good deeds, will.'

The righteous man stood up and took the food to the beggar, and went to sleep hungry.

A beggar came to Imam Ahmad and he gave him two pieces of bread which he had prepared for his iftaar, and himself went to sleep and woke up fasting in the morning.

[Lata’if Al-Ma’arif, (Page: 168) | Translated By Abbas Abu Yahya Miraath Al-Anbiyya]
Upon the authority of a man from the companions of the Prophet [ﷺ] who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah [ﷺ] say:

❝Fasting the month of patience [Ramadhan] and three days of each month removes 'Wahar' [malice, enmity, deceit, perplexity, hatred and anxiety] from the chests.❞

Seal The Month Of Ramadan With Seeking Forgiveness

Ibn Rajab [رحمه الله] said:

❝Seeking forgiveness is a seal for all righteous deeds. It seals the prayer, Hajj, Qayyam Al-Layl the night prayer and it seals gatherings. Therefore, if it was a Remembrance of Allaah then it is like putting a stamp of seal on it and if there were mistakes and deficiencies then it would be an expiation for it. Likewise it is befitting to complete the month of Ramadan with seeking forgiveness.

Umar Bin AbdulAziz wrote to the different regions commanding them to complete Ramadan with seeking forgiveness and giving Sadaqa Al-Fitr. Indeed Sadaqa Al-Fitr is purification for the fasting person from mistakes and evil deeds and seeking forgiveness patches that which is torn from the fast due to mistakes and evil deeds.

This is why some of the previous scholars said: 'Indeed Sadaqa Al-Fitr for the fasting person is like performing the two Sajdas for forgetfulness for the prayer.'

Umar Bin AbdulAziz [Died 101 A.H.] [رحمه الله] said in his book, say as your father Adam said:

﴿رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَا أَنْفُسَنَا وَإِنْ لَمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ﴾‏

«They said: 'Our Lord! We have wronged ourselves. If You forgive us not, and bestow not upon us Your Mercy, we shall certainly be of the losers.'» [Ara’af: 23]

Say as Nuh [عليه سلم] said:

﴿وَإِلَّا تَغْفِرْ لِي وَتَرْحَمْنِي أَكُنْ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ﴾‏

«And unless You forgive me and have Mercy on me, I would indeed be one of the losers.» [Hud: 47]

Say as Musa [عليه سلم] said:

﴿رَبِّ إِنِّي ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِي فَاغْفِرْ لِي﴾‏

«My Lord! Verily, I have wronged myself, so forgive me.» [Qasas: 16]

Say as Dhul-Noon [عليه سلم] said:

﴿سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ﴾‏

«Glorified [and Exalted] are You [above all that [evil] they associate with You]. Truly, I have been of the wrong-doers.» [Al-Anbiyya: 87].❞

Be Thankful For Her Love

Shaykh Muhammad Ibn Sālih Al-Uthaymīn [رحمه الله] said:

❝I hold that from the favor of Allāh upon the husband is that his wife loves him.❞

The Truth & Following It

Imam Ahmad [رحمه الله] said:

«ﺭﺣﻢ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ﻋﺒﺪًﺍ ﻗﺎﻝَ ﺑﺎﻟﺤﻖ، ﻭﺍﺗﺒﻊ ﺍﻷﺛﺮ، ﻭﺗﻤﺴﻚ ﺑﺎﻟﺴُّﻨﺔ، ﻭﺍﻗﺘﺪﻯ ﺑﺎﻟﺼﺎﻟﺤﻴﻦ .»

❝May Allaah have mercy upon the worshipper who spoke the truth, and followed the Athaar [narrations of the Companions], and adhered to the Sunnah, and emulated the righteous.❞

[Tabaqat Al-Hanabila, (1/36) | Translated By Abbas Abu Yahya Miraath Al-Anbiyya]
We Sacrifice Ourselves For The Sunnah

Shaykh Muqbil Bin Hadi Al-Wada’ee [رحمه الله] said:

❝We defend the Sunnah not ourselves. We hear people cursing us and we do not refute them. We do not even have time to defend ourselves.

However, for the Sunnah even if they bite us with their teeth we would not leave any one of them to speak against the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allaah [ﷺ] whether he was from the Shia, a Soofi or from the Ikhwaan Al-Muslimeen.

We sacrifice ourselves for the Sunnah, and our honour is sacrificed for the Sunnah.❞

[Nasaih Wa Fadaaih, (Page: 154-155) | Translated By Abbas Abu Yahya Miraath Al-Anbiyya]
Umar Ibn Al-Khattab [رضي الله عنه] said:

❝Do not let your love for someone be obsessive and do not let your hatred for someone be destructive.❞
