I have never seen Swami in His physical form and my devotion was purely conceived on His message and His omnipresence, which I have truly felt throughout my life. Swami reminds us to surrender to Him, as all will be well. However, at times, the monkey mind loses sight and yearns to control everything on its own. It is during these times that Swami sends gentle nudges, reminding us to surrender to Him.

In July 2019, I was involved in organising a musical offering for the graduation of the Sathya Sai International Leadership Programme (SSILP) in Prasanthi Nilayam. I had planned to offer a rose at Swami’s Mahasamadhi on the day of the offering, however, amidst all the long practice sessions and other tasks, it totally slipped my mind. On the evening of the offering and before the start of the programme, I sat facing Swami’s Mahasamadhi, and began pouring my heart out to Swami telling Him how much I really wanted to offer a rose to Him for His guidance throughout this entire process. I was scolding myself for forgetting to do so. My grief was heavy as I realised I may not have another opportunity during that trip, since I made arrangements to leave the ashram the following day.

With minutes left for the programme to start, I opened my eyes to find a Young Adult in front of me who said “Sister, here is a rose. Please do not ask any questions, but kindly offer this to Swami at His Mahasamadhi before we begin today’s programme”. I was dumbstruck as I could not comprehend how my heartfelt prayer was answered within seconds. As a member of the committee, I was fully aware that there was no prior discussion about me offering a rose, and I realised that this was all the work of the Almighty.

Swami lovingly reminds us from time to time to surrender to Him, and He assures us that all is being done for our greater good. (Sai, Canada)

I considered myself unlucky as I could not see Swami, nor perform in a drama in front of His physical form. This thought made me upset and I would cry out to Swami expressing my pain. But, in early 2019, there was a turning point in my life when I was able to visit Prasanthi Nilayam for the National Young Adults Retreat and Parthi Seva Yatra for devotees from Nepal.

We were supposed to perform a drama on the third day of our retreat. I was unable to attend practices and therefore could not be a part of the dance. However, Swami, in His infinite grace, still gave me an opportunity to be a part of the drama and I played the role of the sparrows’ mother. I soon realised that if you surrender completely and have patience, Swami will shower His blessings in His own way and in His own time. I am grateful to Swami for blessing me with this opportunity and making my dream come true. Thank you Swami! (Sanket, Nepal)

My dearest Swami,
