Finally! Chicken got her new private Mansion with Garden.

Enjoy the beauty and let us know what you think! Later I Will post a longer update about our trip the Staatenlos and what happend in Brazil!
After over 7 month in Brazil its time to leave. The last few weeks have been a roller coaster. I over stayed more then 120 days. Had several encounters with the Authorities such as the Federal Police and the Military Marinha do Brazil.

I was told to leave the country immediately and was given a paper to answer my status within 10 days and pay a hefty fine. I lifted my anchor and moved to another state to deal with the matter there. Was given another 10 days. But I needed more time to fix and prepare the boat for the long way up.

Almost having to face cumpolsory measures yet still floating and working for our departure at next low tide tonight.

It's time to move to French Guyana! 1300 Nautical Miles

We will sail for approximately 7 days using the magic carpet. The stream that flows into the same direction.

Once arrived we be able to reunite with Christoph and also getting to experience rocket starts from the Arianne space center.
Just left port, follow us on our live tracker

This will probably be my last message before reaching French guyana. A small window of connectivity.

Up 25 knots of wind from behind. Smooth downwind sailing. Currently only using our Genoa sail. Already saw a beautiful dolphin playing with us.

But now facing 12 hours of darkness followed by many days and nights.... See you soon
We made it! After 9 days of sailing 1340 miles.

Long days and longer nights. It's like the time is standing still.

Spending all this time without internet detaches you from the constant information flow.
It's almost like vipasanna meditation.

Now it's time to get back to fix things on the boat and explore the country
Finally cleared into French guyana. A long process to find the right office.

No vaccination 🚫 needed
No test was needed 🚫

Traveling by boat has its perks.

The first few days we were not really able to rent a car nor get the taxis we needed. If we got a taxi it was very expensive.

French guyana is not a easy country. I didn't expect to encounter this many difficulties. After 14 years of experience in traveling the world I was surprised how hard it is. You need a car or you are nothing!

Taxis will certainly always charge you and arm and a leg. It's a pricy country!

3km = 15 euros

39km 150 euros
A melon priced 18 euros as shown in the fotos.

Not really any tourism here. So don't expect any other convenient things in here if you ever decide to come

Here you are on your own!

The nature is very beautiful and rich in flora and fauna. Chicken really enjoyed the stay at at the forest.

We stayed a couple of days in a forest house to recharge our batteries. Tomorrow it's time to return to the boat.
Christoph has arrived! He brought 31kg worth of parts to the boat.

New victron Charge controller for our solar setup

New victron autotransformer

And many other things such as security cameras and little parts.

We will sail French guyana together for one week exploring the Devils island and sailing up river next to the border to Suriname.

Shortly after will I sail to Colombia where we will meet up again for new year.
Chicken in the rainforest of French guyana

The most traveled chicken in the world?3900 nautical miles in 7 month

Which animal would you take sailing?
Christoph and I exploring the ruins of the infamous Devil island and Ile Saint Joseph.

Countless cellblocks in the middle of the islands surrounded by dense forest.

Having been a prisoner here meant getting eaten by insects

Exploring the sidearms of the maroni river by catamaran Is a magical experience

The Amazon and it's neighboring rivers are navigable by sailboat or catamaran if you have local knowledge, because these smaller creeks are uncharted.

There is a ride of almost up to 3 meters here. The current is very strong once it's against you. Make sure your engines are serviced

This forest is home to Jaguars,Toucans,Anacondas and many other Exotic Animals
