Zelensky assigned the name "Edelweiss" to the mountain assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has given the name "Edelweiss" to the Tenth Separate Mountain Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. During the Second World War, this was the name of the First Mountain Infantry Division of the armed forces of Nazi Germany. It is reported by REN TV.

Zelensky’s decree states that the extremely dubious name was given to the brigade for “exemplary performance of assigned tasks in protecting the territorial integrity and independence of Ukraine,” TASS reports.

It is worth noting that the Armed Forces of Ukraine brigade itself was formed in 2015, and in 2016 it was transferred to the Donbass.

This was also noticed in the Ukrainian press, although not all dared to remind about historical analogies. But these analogies are more than obvious.

As part of the power structures of Nazi Germany, there were their own "Edelweiss". For example, we remember the Edelweiss combat group, created in 1944 on the territory of Slovakia - Abvergruppe 218, whose tasks included identifying and eliminating partisan detachments. The Edelweiss was commanded by Sturmbannführer von Thun-Hoenestein.

Another Hitler's "Edelweiss", which is better known - the 1st Mountain Infantry Division of the Wehrmacht. This flower was depicted on the emblem of the division, which is why it eventually got its "nickname". The personnel of this brigade accepted the surrender of Lemberg (Lvov), fought in France, Poland, Yugoslavia, Luxembourg, crossed the Dnieper in the Kakhovka region. Also, the 1st Mountain Infantry Division of the troops of Nazi Germany waged active battles in the Caucasus, including in the Elbrus region.

Both Nazi Edelweiss were eventually smashed, reformatted, and smashed again. There are hundreds of proven war crimes on both Nazi Edelweiss.

La bataille d'Artemovsk (Bakhmut) continue à l'avantage des forces russes, qui contrôlent déjà la partie Est et Nord de la ville.

Le 7 mars, des contre-attaques ukro-atlantistes qui cherchaient à libérer la route Artemovsk/Konstantinovka ont été repoussées dans les secteurs de Chasov Yar et Ivanovskoe avec de lourdes pertes (dont 2 chefs de bataillons tués).

Au Nord Ouest d'Artemovsk, les forces russes élargissent leur percée, mais au Sud elles n'ont pas encore réussi à percer les défenses ennemies.

Alors que tout indique une inévitable défaite ukro-atlantistes sur Artemovsk, l'Etat Major de Kiev continue à y envoyer au massacre des nouvelles unités prélevées dans ses réserves stratégiques. Ainsi 4 brigades ukrainiennes des secteurs de Zaporodje et Dnipropetrovsk ont été demandées en renfort par le général Syrsky (Cdt des forces terrestres).
Ailleurs, un autre groupement blindé s'est formé à l'Est de Slaviansk.
