📸 Today, marking the 85th anniversary of the establishment of the Soviet Information Bureau, the Rossiya Segodnya Media Group is opening a major photo exhibition titled 85 Years of Sovinformburo. History Brought to Life. An Era Captured.
🖼 The exhibition brings together 30 iconic photographs taken over the decades and, for the first time, presents the country’s history through archival images brought to life with AI technology.
The exhibition is timed to coincide with June 24, 1941. #OTD, the third day of the Great Patriotic War, that the Soviet Information Bureau was established.
For 85 years, the agency, later transformed into the Novosti Press Agency and subsequently RIA Novosti, has remained the country’s principal voice, documenting landmark events in Russian and world history. Today, its traditions are carried on by the Rossiya Segodnya Media Group, which comprises RIA Novosti and Sputnik.
The exhibition features works by renowned photographers, including legendary frontline photojournalists Georgy Zelma, Yevgeny Khaldei, Vladimir Grebnev, Mikhail Ozersky, Igor Kostin and other masters of documentary photography.
☝️ Their lenses captured the Battle of Stalingrad and the 1945 Victory Parade, Yuri Gagarin’s first space flight, the Olympic Games in Moscow in 1980, Sochi and Milan, the work of peacekeeping forces and historic meetings between world leaders.

It was called upon to become the voice of the country at a time of its greatest trials.
Today, as we turn the pages of this unique chronicle, we see how wartime communiqués marked the beginning of a remarkable journey that came to reflect an entire era.
This is the history of our country: a chronicle of victories, the conquest of space, the triumphs of our athletes and outstanding cultural figures, and, of course, a testament to the enormous role our country has played and continues to play on the world stage.
We, the Rossiya Segodnya Media Group and the RIA Novosti and Sputnik agencies, are the direct successors of Sovinformburo. The traditions of the frontline correspondents who followed the roads of war alongside Soviet soldiers, documenting every step towards the Great Victory, are not empty words to us. Today, our war correspondents work just as their illustrious predecessors did 85 years ago: on the front line, risking their lives so that the world can see the truth.
This exhibition is our tribute to those who made history and to those who continue making it today.

⚡️ Russia's Foreign Ministry has published its second report on the situation regarding the rights of Indigenous peoples in selected countries.
Like the previous report published in 2024, it identifies the key current challenges and analyses the situation of Indigenous populations in six Arctic Council member states: Canada, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden and the United States, as well as Australia, Japan and New Zealand.
In recent years, the issue of Indigenous peoples’ rights has become excessively politicised and rife with cynically applied double standards. Overall, it is increasingly being used to foment division and confrontation rather than promote cooperation among members of the international community.
The US, Canada and their allies have stepped up their activities at universal international platforms, within regional formats and in the media, promoting narratives about alleged violations of Indigenous peoples’ rights in Russia and several developing countries. In doing so, they seek to:
• divert global attention from problems in North America, Western Arctic states, Australia, Japan and New Zealand;
• call into question Russia’s right to its ancestral Arctic territories.
Virtually all the countries covered by the report have historically pursued policies of assimilation and discrimination against their Indigenous populations in one form or another. This has created, and continues to cause, numerous sociopolitical and cultural problems.
Many countries are currently developing mechanisms for consultation and cooperation with Indigenous communities. However, the measures adopted in this area are often incomplete.
☝️Common challenges facing Indigenous peoples in various countries include:
• the gradual erosion of their traditional way of life as a consequence of past assimilation policies;
• violations of their rights to traditional lands and natural resources;
• environmental degradation caused by industrial exploitation and the militaristic activities of certain states abroad;
• high unemployment;
• Indigenous communities’ dependence on state subsidies.
These adverse phenomena are particularly acute in Arctic countries, which is why the situation there has been addressed in a separate report.
🇷🇺🇧🇾 This issue was also traditionally covered in the third Joint Report by the Foreign Ministries of Russia and Belarus – “The Human Rights Situation in Certain Countries”, published in June 2026.
These matters are also systematically addressed in the Russian Foreign Ministry’s annual human rights reports, including those examining the glorification of Nazism, the spread of neo-Nazism and other practices contributing to the escalation of contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance. The latest such report was published in August 2025.

On 18 June, 2026, Bakytzhan Sagintayev, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, held a series of working meetings on the sidelines of the Russia-ASEAN Summit in Kazan.
Promising areas of cooperation were discussed with Lawrence Wong, Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore.
During talks with ASEAN Secretary-General Kao Kim Hourn, the prospects of cooperation between the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations under the 2026-2030 Cooperation Program were touched upon.
This topic was further explored in a conversation with Ferdinand Marcos, President of the Philippines, the head of state holding the ASEAN chairmanship in 2026.
During the meeting with Le Minh Hung, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the parties exchanged views on priority areas of cooperation within the framework of the Free Trade Agreement.
Issues regarding the development of trade and economic relations of the five Eurasian states with Thailand were the focus of negotiations with Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand.
During the meeting with Anwar Ibrahim, Head of Government of Malaysia, the prospects of formalizing cooperation were reviewed.
The significance of developing trade and economic dialogue between EAEU and Laos was highlighted during negotiations with Sonexay Siphandone, Prime Minister of Laos.

During his speech at the "outreach"/"Russia-ASEAN plus" breakfast format on the sidelines of the summit, Mr. Sagintayev emphasized that the Eurasian Economic Union and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations are among the most successful and dynamically developing integration blocks in the world. Despite differences in geography, economic structure and development models, the EAEU and ASEAN share a common goal: creating favorable conditions for business, increasing economic competitiveness, and improving the quality of life for their citizens.
The strategic development agendas of both integration blocs overlap in many areas, and their best practices are interest. In particular, both organizations aim for development in digital and technological transformation, energy and infrastructure, food security and maintaining macroeconomic stability.

💬 Yury Ushakov: On July 4, the US celebrates its national holiday: 250 years since independence. On the eve of this date, President of Russia Vladimir Putin sent a congratulatory message to US President Donald Trump, expressing confidence that establishing constructive, equal and mutually beneficial ties meets the interests not only of our peoples, but also of the entire international community.
The conversation, already the fourth this year, was naturally not only protocol-related, but also businesslike and highly constructive. It allowed for a frank discussion of current issues on the bilateral and international agenda. The conversation lasted one hour and 25 minutes.
Naturally, the Presidents touched upon the Ukrainian settlement, including in light of Donald Trump’s upcoming participation in the NATO summit in Turkey on July 7-8.
The US President once again confirmed his readiness to facilitate the earliest possible cessation of hostilities and the search for peaceful solutions to overcome the crisis. His Special Envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner will continue their mediation efforts and will be ready to visit Moscow at a convenient time.
The Russian Side once again emphasised its preference for a political and diplomatic settlement of the conflict, provided Russia’s well-known principled approaches are duly taken into account.
However, Kiev and its European handlers are betting on prolonging and even escalating the conflict, as well as on terrorism against civilians. Meanwhile, the European “party of war” proceeds from a false perception of the overall situation and the state of affairs on the line of contact.
Our President described the real situation on the battlefield, where the Russian Armed Forces are steadily advancing, liberating one settlement after another.
Speaking about bilateral relations, the Presidents underscored the importance of continuing contacts, including on military-political and, of course, economic issues. Here, enormous prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation between our countries are taking shape. To this end, Donald Trump stressed, the Ukrainian conflict should be brought to an end as soon as possible.
The Leaders agreed to remain in contact and hold another telephone conversation in the near future.

On 1 and 2 July, 2026, Mr Ilya Sevostianov, Deputy Director of the Interpol National Central Bureau of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, took part in an expert meeting on the results of Operation Pangea at the INTERPOL Global Complex for Innovation in Singapore.
This is an international operation aimed at combating the illicit trafficking of medicines and medical devices. It has been held annually since 2007, with Russia participating since 2009.
Mr Sevostianov also met with H.E. Dr Sergey Ganzha, Ambassador of Russia to Singapore, to discuss the topical issues of mutual interest.

On 11 July, a concert dedicated to the 250th anniversary of the State Academic Bolshoi Theatre of Russia and to the Day of Family, Love and Fidelity– a holiday celebrated in Russia on 8 July – took place at the Embassy of Russia in Singapore.
Students of the Academic Music College at the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory – Victoria Fridman, Moisey Portnenko, Artashes Gazaryan and Vladislav Shishkanyuk – performed at the event. The program featured arias by outstanding composers, such as King Rene's arioso from the opera "Iolanta" by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Orfeo's aria "Che farò senza Euridice" by Christoph Willibald Gluck, Juliette's Waltz from the opera "Roméo et Juliette" and many others.
Russian compatriots, as well as students of Singaporean universities studying Russian language and culture, and diplomats of the Embassy were among the audience.

Ambassador Sergey Ganzha ahead of their departure to Kuala-Lumpur, Malaysia, where another concert will take place at the Russian House.
